theirs been alot of hype over this but ive been wondering how much it takes
how much does an android build take? wp7? and WinMo 6.5.X? if you were to make an android build and a data image with 250MB ( like on sd builds) and then use sd card for extension on space, and have a partitioned sd card (a 16 GB- 4 or 8GB for wp7 ) then that leaves you with about 10 -12 GB of space for WinMo 6.5.X and android and if they make WinMo Roms that are minimal and the rest for WP7 an when meego is released move the android to sd card and replace it with meego OS or something in that direction (wish it had more space x/ )
im probably completely wrong but someone please clear this up for me
I'm not sure if its possible to have more than 1 os on nand.... but if it can be done, cotulla will figure it out. But I know cotulla is working on wm6.5 that can run off sd, so if that works out, we can have wp7 on nand, and then winmo, android, meego, and ubuntu on sd.

Wondering if anyone has been able to do this, and if not, if they'd be able to get this working on the device:

I tried a few things based on my limited knowledge, but I had no luck.
I am trying the same thing as you are trying, only trying to get Android into the Mogul's internal memory (to replace WinMo), per the instructions found here:

Would love any thoughts folks in the know might have.

Yea only one really big problem with running NAND Android on the Mogul (Titan). That link is for the Touch (Vogue).
We are stuck with the SD method for now. And anything above 1.6 runs really slow.

Good to know. I was wondering at the speed of the higher versions on the Titan. I think it would be cool to dual boot one of your ROMs with a 1.6 build.
Is anyone working on a NAND Android for the Titan?
i hope so... i got myns warm donut to work fine on my titan, but i had to do it from the sd card.. i figure all we need is a .nbh file, and we can nand this!
I have mssmison's eclair v7 (android 2.1) running off my SD card at a decent speed, i was suprised. its just about as fast as mym's warm donut build. im running a custom default.txt file and the eclair zimage and it seems to work well, not the fastest (fastest is probably the 1.5 ion build) but it works.
just outta curiosity (im a vogue user)
trying to help a friend with a mogul out.
You guys have a class 6 microsd? or is it class 4.
Speed ok with anything below a class 6 microsd?
Also did you guys partition it? ext2 or swap?
I really hope someone can add nand to the mogul.
im using a old class 2 microSD card, slow as hell but it dosent run extremely slow, i partioned ext2 and it ran at decent speeds, i want a better SD card so i can really see how android would run on the mogul but i dont have the money to (odviously or i wouldnt be using such a out of date piece of hardware)

Did you have to flash the NBH file to your phone to use this? If not could you post all the files you use?
I'm currently using the initial 1.5 version which is basic. It doesn't require flashing any files. All the files you need are just placed on the sd card.

um i dont think you can flash android on moguls yet; therefore no nbh can be used. I know nbh is becoming the newer way to have android on either nand or sd but the support isnt there yet for moguls.
The way the person above is using androind on the mogul is through the sd card. You have to (similar to the way you're using android on your phone now). I believe you are using haret.exe. Anyways to FULLY maximize performance for android on sd card, you have to partition the sd card (divide the sd card).
They way you're using it right now is only 1 partition (lets say you have a 2GB SD card formated to fat32 or ntfs).
However to make android run at decent speeds, you have to partition (divide that 2GB SD Card into 3 parts).
2GB SD card gets broken down and split up into:
*256MB formated to ext2 (instead of fat32)
*Another 256MB formated to ext2
*1536MB formated to FAT32 (where you put your data normally)
After you partitioned the sd card..... you now install android (instead of running it like you've been)
You run haret.exe as usual but theres and option to copy data and systemto the ex2 partitions you made on the sd card.
the 2 ext2 partitions above will be contain the android data and system files
and will make android run faster because android files are all in that partition and it doesnt have to search and filter through your user files.
In my signature theres a video on how to partition your sd card.... but you have to figure out how to get your sd card to detect on your computer..(via card reader or other methods)
Thanks for the info intimidatorx31. That helps out tremendously. However, on the newer builds of android that are posted, instead of having the traditional system.img and rootfs.img files there is an androidinstaller.tar. Do I now use that? Also, which files go on each of the 3 partitions? On all of the directions I've found have only stated to put the downloaded files in the "andboot" folder.

You're right; forgot everything has moved to andboot folder setup with no more roofts as well.
Well the android rom im using (Myn's warm donut for the vogue) has
the classic sqsh files which is what YOU need to run it off sd card using haret.exe (running off sd card).

this is where the thread is
Heres the direct link to dwonload:http://download203.mediafire.com/9k22dfx80ymg/kzyxtqkzcwa/myn-WarmDonut-03-16-2010-SQSH.zip
for additional instructions go here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=648045
Remember if you are using off sd card its highly recommended to partition the sd card; so it doesnt have to search the entire sd card...itll just have to search within that partition you've created (ext2 partition which is recognized by android)
Thanks again for the info.

have a few questions if anyone can help:
1. when i go here to get the myns warm donut version post am i supposed to use the SQSH version? if not i should be using the NoMoRootFs 240x320 version correct?
2. how do you install the mssmison's eclair or myn's warm doughnut? I just come back with errors each time.
3. what is the correct setup of the 3 partitions? I used partition manager 9 and made 3 partitions, but when i tried to install android there was no option to choose a partition.
4. is mssmison's more stable than myn's doughnut?
Sorry for all the questions, i'd love to mess around with android, but my last install was the myn's warm doughnut sqsh version, and it was installing for like 2 days....scrolling a bunch of files repeatedly it got up to 53276.1234 until i finally just said forget it, and rebooted. If anyone can help i'd be GREATLY appreciative!!
Thanks Gang!
miraclmoore, read the post a few above mine, it explains how to partion the SD card, and how i did it? custom default.txt, zimage for the mogul and a little technical knowldge, prettymuch all you have to do is put the androidinstall.tar in the andboot folder and run haret.exe then as soon as it vibrates press and hold the center button til the install screen appears, select to put data and system on ext2 and install it, runs with no errors (except completely randomly tty access errors when it first starts but those dont matter)
just wondering.....
nyterage..where did you find the custom default.txt and zimage for the mogul? considering all builds are for vogue, kaiser, and polaris? also when I use myns sqsh the system tries to create a new dataa store instead of just using the sqsh files like i've seen in others installations. I used partition manager 9 to partition my card. also do u need to give the 2 ext partitions drive letters? hope I am not asking stupid question as this is all a little new to me.
So am I completely boned if the down direction on my d pad is doesn't work? I can get to the install menu but then I can;t do anything at it

Any build I use when I get to the install screen to select where I want to install it, I cannot select anything. Only 2 things I can highlight in the list are install to NAND and quit.
The proper options are selected by default buy I cannot get to menu option 1 to do the install.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

android build..?
back up all your data from your sd card, then reformat your sd card and try again. I should work....
Yesterday i was helping my gf to install android on her hd2, i encountered exactly the same problem as you. Then reformat sd card, install android again. It works smoothly without any problem.
Hope it helps.
thx for advice...i try it...
I have the same Problem...
no matter what I do, it does not work
It always freeze or reboot new.
I have formatted my SD i think over 100 times
What i do wrong?
I have hspl2 and the newest Radio ROm, but it doesnt work
EDIT: I tried all Android builds noone works
Did you do a task29 to format internal memory, then install back energy rom. Only install android. Have you tried that?
@ whizzkid_cool
I dont understand, what is task29
And energy rom? is that a custom Rom?
Still Doesn't work....

Did you copy the complete Android directory (so not only the files) to the root of your SD card?
All you have to do is read
It could also be your SD card. I had exactly the same issue with an 8gb card I recently purchased. No matter how many times I formatted it I still couldn't get Android to run fully all the time.
I have since got a 4gb SD card and Android, all builds, now runs without any issues whatsoever.
Just a suggestion that it may not be something you're doing, or not doing, but an actual hardware issue!
You might also be making the same mistake I did.
When the guides on this forum said to copy the Android folder to the root of my SD card, I thought it was referring to the "/" directory that I saw in Windows Explorer. (What is actually the internal memory of the HD2)
I was putting Android in the wrong directory. I should have been copying it over to the Storage Card one, which is the actual MiniSD Card. That's the root directory.
Just a thought.
same problem...
Hey guys
i tried everything but i have the same problem
it´s only the green screen from HTC. I hope it is not the SDCard
I have the goatrip 6.0 final version and tried it with many Android builds, most of them were from Mdeejay
Please help me without android i think the hd2 is boring for me
Is there any ROM that supports MAGDLR?
So i can have WM6.5 installed, but still run Android SD from MAGDLR.
Not existing (yet) - the possible combination so far is Android and WP7, since WinMo 6.5 does not (yet) exist to be used/installed on SD.
I don't want to install it to SD, but to NAND. Just i want to keep quick SD android boot via MAGDLR.
I haven´t seen any tool to make different partitions in the internal memory.
The existing tool can differ between partitions of an SD card, that´s it - and the only additional OS for HD2 which works from SD is Android. Both Windows versions are NAND only, at least as of today.
That´s why you can combine WP7 or WinMo 6.5 with Android, but not vice versa.
So still, not doable (yet).
I think he's saying he wants winmo on nand, and android from sd, but to be able to use magldr to boot directly into android. Unfortunately, magldr deletes winmo and the only roms you can flash to nand are wp7 and android. I'm not sure if cotulla plans to make any winmo roms that can flash to nand with magldr... he is working on a sd version of winmo6.5 that can be booted from sd with magldr, though, so we will be able to have wp7, android and winmo all on our phones at once. But right now, if you want winmo and android, you have to run android with haret from within winmo.
Is it possible to triple boot WP7, WM6.5 and Android?
From what I've read from searching I would presume the answer is no, but is there anyone out there who has any more information on the topic?
WinMo 6.5 still not available as an SD build, same for WP7. One of them should be ported this way, then you´d be fine.
I guess some time and efforts of the great devs behind all those solutions will go into the soon-to-come WP7 update, maybe kind of "blocking" other stuff. But you never know, do you? At least, HSPL4 came out of nowhere...
So an SD build, thats where the OS boot directly from an SD card? So you could just have 3 SD cards, one for each OS?
Wow I've been out of the HD2 game for too long
As of now, the dual boot option runs 1 OS from NAND, then Android, the only one available as SD build, from the memory card.
Since you can make different partitions on an SD card, it could be imaginable to have 2 or even more partitions. At the end, in grey theory, 1 OS from NAND, 2 others from memory card.
Or, even if the partition stuff wouldn´t work, you still might have 1 card with Android, another one with either WP7 or WinMo 6.5 - while one of them runs from NAND again.
Hey guys I'm running Tytungs ICS v2.8 Android NativeSD ROM from an EXT4 partition and want to install Win6.5 on the NAND (for better battery life) so I can effectively dual boot. Sorry if this question has been asked a thousand times before. I've searched a lot through the forums but didn't find a thread dedicated to this. There is a triple boot thread by mengfei but it is dedicated to Win7 only.
Also wanted to know whether both Win6.5 and Android would reformat the SDcard everytime they boot individually (since they are different OSs). Can I share the same FAT32 partition with both OSs without affecting the music and videos I have on it?
I currently have a 32GB Class10 Samsung SDcard with a 2GB EXT4 partition for the NativeSD ROM I mentioned above and a 27GB'ish FAT32 partition that stores all my music and data which I plan on sharing between the two OSs. (If that's possible) Any help would be appreciated.
cant be done, , when winmo is on the phone, you can only run normal sd versions of android, , i.e ones 5that run from the fat32 partition and are started by running haret.exe
wrong info, see below for a link to an excellent tutorial.

No, you can dual/triple/... boot NativeSD-Androids and WinMo 6.x
See this great guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=33988958
If you want an Android-Start-App from WinMo, use my tool: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=33174747
If you look at the pictures in this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=33359487 you can see, that Szczepanik has 11 Androids on the same SD-card, witch he can start from WinMo (NAND) with my tool... I've "only" 3 NativeSD-Androids and htc-WinMo 6.5 on NAND. If you want to use more NativeSD-Androids on the same SD-card, it's recommended that you extend your ext2-partition (my is 4GB)...
Try it, ...
And yes: You can share the fat32- partition with all OS (Androids and WinMo).
Cheers
