Few questions... - Atrix 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there any way to set the email/attachment size in the built in client?
Is it possible for the email client automatically download images vs. always having to click "Display Images"?
Anyone else having issues with emails being displayed correctly? I've received a handful of emails that are mis-aligned.
Thanks for any insight you can provide.

Looking for an app which grabs emails and sends as sms and vise versa

Hi All,
after a pile of googling, I'm still trying to find an application which will send an sms based on an email and vise versa, so when the phone receives an e-mail it sends an sms, and when it receives an sms it sends an email.
Not sure if such an app exists, but i figure this is the best place to ask the question.
Thanks in advance for any help!!
JP.
Magicall
"Magicall" is an application which meets your requirements as u mentined
Not quite what I was looking for
Thanks for your reply. I've tried the software you mentioned above, but it doesn't provide the functionality I'm after.
Does anyone else know of any software which will take an email and sms it to a predefined number and also take an SMS and forward it to a predefined email address?
Thanks in advance.

[Q] Registry tweak to auto-BCC all outgoing emails to a given email address

Hello all,
I am using various pop3 accounts on my HD2 with the built-in messaging system. Like many people, I’d like to retrieve sent items (from my mobile) in my desktop Outlook. A well known workaround is to BCC yourself on all outgoing emails so that your desktop Outlook can retrieve emails sent from your mobile.
The problem is you have to enter your email address in the BCC field MANUALLY for all outgoing emails. I have read many posts (on this and other forums) stating that it is impossible to do that automatically with the built-in messaging system.
The posts I read were quite old (2006-2009) so I was wondering if that changed. Also, in my case, I’d like to BCC all outgoing emails to ONE UNIQUE email address (such as “[email protected]”). This should be less complicated because [email protected] can be hard-coded somewhere (the automation process doesn’t have to retrieve the sender’s address).
So, is there any workaround (a registry tweak I guess) to open all new emails with the BCC field automatically filled with [email protected] ?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Universal Stock Email issue with exchange account - reply removes quoted text

Hello,
I have owned multiple android phones across multiple versions up to and including jelly bean on my galaxy nexus. With my active sync exchange account, I have a problem replying to emails. The reply will go through, but even when I have "include quoted text" checked, it will still delete the trail and there will be no quoted text. It's rather frustrating since it creates confusion, especially if I need to add new recipients to the trail and they have no idea what's going on since the history is gone.
Has anyone run into this and know how to fix? Please note that this only occurs on my exchange account using the stock email app. If I use any other email protocol such as imap, there is no issue. Also note that I tested this exchange account with an iOS device and there is no issue either, so I don't feel like it is on the server side. Thanks.

Hi
I have the same problem. Did you resolve it?

[Q] Plain text email body not downloading on IMAP account

I have two IMAP email accounts. One of them is working fine, but on the other one my phone does not show the body of plain text emails. Emails are received properly and all the other information downloads and displays properly (subject, sender, time, etc.) but when I go to view the body I just see a blank screen and there is no text there at all (not even white on white).
I have deleted the account and set it up again and have the same issue.

Sounds to me like it must be something on the server side. Are both accounts hosted on the same server? Do you have control over the MTAs? Can you compare the setups of the two accounts? If that doesn't help (they're the same) then are there any differences in the definitions of the two accounts in your mail client?

Thanks for the suggestion. I checked with my web host and it turns out there was a SmarterMail server patch that caused the bug. It has since been patched and is working now. Thanks for the suggestions, though -- that was good advice.

Glad to hear that you're sorted - and good to hear that your host is on the ball too

Work phone synced to work email Outlook/Exchange

Hi
I have a Android phone and have it hooked with my workplace email account which uses Microsoft exchange 2007.
I am getting my emails through on the phone but the issue I have is in my outlook I have rules setup so if someone sends me and email who is part of my team i have rules setup so their emails go into their own seperate subfolder.
The issue is if i get an email from one of these collesgues where i have setup a rule i dont get a email message alert on my phone that i have received an email.
However if anyone sends me an email straight to my inbox i get an alert without no issue.
What's odd is we have a network monitoring tool and if that alerts and sends me an email I have again set up a rule to filter those messages to a different subfolder. I seem to get alerted on the phone for these emails which I have found very strange. If this sub folder works why don't I get them for the rest is my question?
I have rechecked my rules in outlook and can confirm they all set up exactly the same.
Is this setup incorrect or can I not receive emails which are in sub folders?
Is there a way to solve this, could an android app sort this as i am just using the native email app which comes with the Galaxy S3.
Thanks

There must be some differences between the rules or the folders. It is normal on an email client that if you have a rule to move an e-mail to another folder on arrival, it will do so without an alert. The only thing i can think of is that your colleagues' rules are "server" rules (run on server before e-mail gets to outlook) and the alert rule is client based (arrives on server, delivered to Outlook then rule runs in outlook)....
One thing to test is if you change the alerts folder to be one of your colleagues, do you stop getting notifications?
