k so i used super one click to root my girlfriends phone.. it rooted fight but i dont have unknown sources in applications? how do i get unknown sources so i can install xrecovery and stuff

please anyone? i woud like to get unknown sources back on it

Your phone has to be debranded. You have to use flashtool and reflash the latest firmware or the one you want to your phone. That will debrand it, then you will root it, sorry AGAIN, to get back where you are know. Use this link for flashtool
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=920746
the link should have all the questions answered for you. Use the X10a firmware since your att. Post again if you have questions.

When I reflash witch xperia am I suppose to download

I would recommend downloading the global generic 2.1 since att is not going to update at all. This will give you a fully working stable rom from Sony Ericsson so you won't have any issues. Just poke around the development section and you can find it pretty easy. Just follow the directions to a tee and you will be fine.
Remember that it voids your warranty with att so you will have to flash back to 1.6 att version in the event you need repairs at some point. That is also on the forum. Also make sure you backup anything you need before you flash as it will wipe everything. It wont affect your SD card though.

i dont see global 2.1?
Generic version 2.1update1 build 2.1.A.0.435 (MD5 : 0C67A08A4B120EBA87E395865F431E81)
Generic version 2.1update1 build 2.0.2.A.0.24 (MD5: E592508FC714A9F2CB6BDC41914ABC81)
Generic version 2.1update1 build 2.0.A.0.504 (MD5: F3735BF4D48ED4BBA8BF5BC60CD1D34C)
these are the ones i see

Well, there are two ways to get stuff on the phone
One way is to use the flash X10 app which will pretty much do everything you need
The guide at the top of this subforum is pretty complete
In the same advanced tab there is xRecovery install
As to the other way it goes something like this:
On the phone you'll go to settings>application settings, and click the unknown sources
Next go to setting>application settings>developement>check the usb debugging
Download, and install the java dev kit http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/
then the android sdk http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html
extract the android sdk to c:\and-sdk
Now go to and-sdk\platform-tools and copy adb.exe, adbwinapi.dll, and adbwinusbapi.dll to the c:\windows\system32
Then copy the cmd.exe from that directory to your c:\and-sdk\platform-tools\ folder
just a note but depending on the version you download it may just be under "platform" directory but not likely
take the "programname", and extract it to the same directory as you did for the cmd.exe
once done go to Run, and type in "CMD"
Type "CD\" in the dos styled command prompt
Then "CD and-sdk"
"CD platform-tools"
have your phone plugged in with the sd card unmounted
then type part in the quotation "adb install file-name.apk" the command prompt will go along the install, and you should see it install
As to xrecovery you'll need to drop those in the a root explorer, and then the commands. Hence it is way more simple to install with the flash tool

You need to flash with 2.1 version from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=683793
then you can root with z4root and install busybox then go to this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=885956
to get you the latest SE version if you have trouble understanding step 4 onwards check post 295 of the thread
If you download linpack from the market and run it on your current version it will retrun around 5 MFLOPS, I have jit with the latest version and it returns 34 MFLOPS so yes it is worth it.
Personal opinion Launcher Pro is the best one

thanks for the reply!
ok so:
1. flash my x10i to X10i_2_0_A_0_504_GLOBAL
2. root my x10i with z4root and then install busybox
3. flash my rooted x10i 2.1 to X10i_2_0_2_A_0_24
4. after phone is updated and all, install and enable JIT.
thats all there is to it in order for my x10i to run the latest and fastest rom?

[Q] Installing Beta4 on Xperia x10

Hello everyone,
Today I have seen that there is a new Beta update at the Froyo rom.
Now I read "REQUIRES LATEST KERNEL AND BASEBAND 2.1.54 (shipped in stock 2.1.A.0.435 ROM)"
What I have to do now? Any explaination?
Flash, root & xrecovery instructions here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=936733
Then follow Beta4 instructions.
I have found that beta 4 is eating my battery though. 10% per hour. I was using a third of that with Beta 3.
I going back to Beta 3 now.
i dont think we can use the above mentioned link for baseband update, check the reply by the author when someone had problem installing the freex10 beta4 in the same thread on page 2
rendeiro2005 said:
i wrote this so many times and you guys just don`t read, search, etc...

Im pretty sure that was before the beta 4 came out. I think the correction is farther down...
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
2.1.54 is the latest baseband which comes with the 2.1.A.0.435 ROM (you even copied that on your first post ). Anyway, try reading this post by KULANV:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...postcount=3904
The steps he provided is easy to follow. I did mine the long way but that was before anyone posted the shorter way.
try this HOWTO, if you don't wanna mess something up!

[Q] Why update baseband?

I'm currently running FreeX10 B3H1, I see that B4 is out and all it apears to do is add support for the new Baseband... is there any notice improvements with the updated baseband?
I'm also not entirely sure what the baseband does
The baseband is the radio of the phone, so basically it controls your call quality, signal, mobile network, etc..
As fire why to upgrade, I can honestly say I haven't noticed any real benefits since I updated. However, as time progresses newer roms are going to be based on this version so if you want to keep flashing custom roms eventually you will have to upgrade anyway..
Hi,
I attempted to install Beta 4 last night (first time installing FreeX10). But now it is in a non stop reboot cycle and will not get any signal. It stays on for about a minute and then reboots everytime. Having read more on this I think it could be Baseband related. When I check the settings it says Baseband is unknown.
Can I upgrade my Firmware to X10a_2_1_A_0_435_GLOBAL in order to get the correct Baseband and then reinstall FreeX10? And if so, Can I use Flashtool to install X10a_2_1_A_0_435_GLOBAL without issues?
(My phone is an X10i by the way, should I use a different Firmware before re-installing FreeX10B4?)
Thanks in advance!

and for d boot loop problem-u will need to update to d .435 firmware (.52 baseband and .29 kernels)..or if u want to keep d old firmware install beta3..(beta 4 is only for .435 firmware)
happy flashing bro.

[Q] Rooting Troubles

I have installed a new 2.1 Global Generic FW on my X10i.
I have z4Root both the 1.1 version and the newer 1.3 version.
Each time I try to root, it will do it, self reset, but afterwards busybox and Titanium Backup don't work and say it's not rooted.
I tried to use the x10 Flash and it also said it would be rooted after a reboot. But the same thing happens, nothing seems to work and it says the cell isn't rooted.
Any suggestions?
I am on FW 2.1 update 1 with a baseband of 2.0.49 and build number 2.0.2.A.0.24
Look for superoneclick that works perfectly.. Think it's on the dev thread.
Edit.. It's a sticky in the general section.
Sent from my X10 using XDA and Swype.
Cool, that worked out just fine. Didn't realize it was something special about that particular FW.
Here's the link provided if anyone else needs it.

[Q] MiniCM v2 (by slade87) question.

1. rom install in this process VS Flash ROM 2.1.1.A.0.6 what is best method?
2. in former method, included baseband install process..
U20i 2.1.1.A.0.6 Baseband 015.7z
or
U20i 2.0.2.A.0.24 Baseband 006.7z
What files should I install?
3. non-overclock version occurs lack?
You should get the one with baseband 015 then you can install slade's ROM.

no answer to question number 1 & 3?
Oh sorry kinda skipped that hehe.
You have been answered here a couple mins ago so you might want to look at that too.
I'll quote here anyway

1. the best method is the flash method because you get all the updated baseband and kernel.
2. Just flash the rom to the recent one 2.1.1.A.0.6 baseband 015 because new rom that slade develop uses new baseband and FW 2.1.1.A.0.6
3. non overclock version just a standard with standard CPU on 600mhz and undervolted and overclock version is a CPU overclocked to 710mhz or upper via Cynogemod/Performance/CPU settings and also undervolted.
hope this will answer your question

1. I wouldn't know, I got my 2.1.1.A.0.6 update thru SE.
3. By lack you mean lag? If so I haven't encountered anything like that yet, maybe I haven't pushed my phone to the limit but it's been running really smooth for me on non-overclock version.
