Data usage per-app - Streak 5 Themes and Apps

Hi, this is my first post, ive searched and searched for an app the can give me a data usage per app, tried 3g watchdog pro hoping maybe it would still work on my streak, but it didn't lol. Coz i do get around 3-4 mb of usage a day out of nowhere, doesn't bother me much, but i just want to figure what drains it.
I did change a lot of update settings.
So is there any other apps that would work.
SPB wireless monitor for example? i wanna make sure before i spend $10 on it?
thanks in advance

Data drain

My account was reset yesterday morning and within 24 hrs im down 241 MB's of data and i only downloaded titanium and titanium pro after reflashing my saved copy of miui,im now wondering if it was draining last month to but i didn't notice it.
I did notice that market seems to run all the time in the background for no appearent reason.
My question is if anyone else has
had a feeling something like this has been happening or did notice it happening to them.
I called tmobile and they confirmed my thoughts that some apps can cause data drain hidden so you dont know what it is or why...just something to think about
I think the premium version of 3g Watchdog can monitor how much data each app is using. Might be worth the cost in your case.

[Q] Which Data counter ??

Well I have been using My data manager it has been very accurate, but this one produce so many wakelocks that drain a bit faster the battery.. So which other you will recommend. ??
That is almost as accurate, and the most important thing is that keep record for various sims.. I switch sims (3) very often.. My data manager, always detect which sim is used, and never loose the previous use.
Have you tried Onavo?
I literally JUST installed Onavo before seeing this thread. Gonna try it out to make sure I don't go over my 3 GB LIMIT ON MY UNLIMITED DATA PLAN
I wouldn't use the 3G watchdog or whatever. That was way off for me. I had used about twice what it said. :/ I even tried the option it had for a different way of counting and it got worse. I don't use anything now, I just periodically check that usd code thing.
SHOStock + ICS theme + ICS themed gb keyboard = the flashaholic cure!
I've run 3G watchdog for a while - doesn't seem to be a significant battery hit, but as previously posted, not as accurate as the other options.
More recently ran MDM for a while - very accurate, but mild additional battery drain, though it didn't seem to show up heavily in BBS.
Running Onavo for a second time now, seems to also be a mild battery drain, thinking I'm probably not gonna keep it.
For non-continuous but quite accurate data, I also have my ATT account set up in PageOnce. It does roughly 24 hour updates (I think, haven't paid too much attention). It can also be manually updated. Has a very nice interface to see a bunch of info regarding my account (so I can keep an eye on how many texts my mother-in-law uses on her pay-per-use text plan ) With this, I can get a pretty close rough idea where I am data use wise at a glance, and update manually if I need to know exactly. Will also throw alerts when getting close to maxing out airtime minutes and data usage. I haven't seen any negative battery impact from this app, and is my fallback when I get sick of the other options...

The problem I have with Onavo is that if you install it on say the 15th, there is no way to tell it how much data you have ALREADY used that month.
Same thing if you flash a new ROM. It starts from zero (as far as I can tell) when you install it. No way to tell it "I have already used xxxMB" etc.

yeah, you can. In Onavo, menu>settings>set data plan>set previously used data.
Thanks.. I installed Onavo and this one doesn´t detect which sim is used !! If in sim 1, have used 300mb and then install sim 2, the data used in sim 2 is added to the overall usage !!
Tha same happen with data counter widget. 3G watchdog as everyone say is not accurate enough..
Guess will not be able to leave My data manager.
Are all 3 Sims at&t? If so why not use the AT&T Communication Manager Widget?
It will show data used & remaining for whatever sim card is inserted.

How big data plan is enough for the s3? (generally)

Hey,
So I'm actually so excited, because i am about the get the s3..
But theres one more thing i want to find about before jumping in. Im going to get it on a contract and i need some tips on the bundle i should be looking for. How much data usage is going to be enough for me? Im going to use wifi like 90% of the time, but im just curious of how much data would the s3 use. Like browsing facebook, twitter, xda-forums, youtube maybe? perhaps gps now and then? How much data do these use? I dont want to do anything major over 3G just the most common surfs really.
Would 200 or 500Mb be enough?
i wouldn't go less than 500mb. You wouldn't want to be constantly looking at your data usage worrying that you go over.
Hi,
Route66 navigation software uses around 50mb of data for a 7 hours trip.
On holidays, I have used maybe 2.5Gb of data on 2 weeks. But I was tethering and streamed a lot from my home.
On normal use (email, browsing, a little play, updating greader), I think it's around 15-20mb a day.
If u got wifi at home and seldom go out then 500mb is enough for u.
If not 2Gb is enuf.

I got 'All You Can Eat' data plan with 3 UK, reading the small print, their fair use policy is about 100GB a month :good:
From the 3 UK website - 'Even if you used your phone for every minute of every day you could only possibly use, subject to traffic management requirements and policy, up to 1000GB each month. So in a sense, there is a data limit of up to 1000GB, which is based on what you can physically use.'
Just for the doubters out there.

S3 battery problems

Hi,
Recently, compagny for the one i work bought around 100 Galaxy S3 for the technician on the road and for everyone else. Most of us found that the battery doesnt last the full day. Around 3-4 hours and we all work mostly 8-10 hours per day.
We installed Airwatch to prevent users of installing apps in the phone butwe still have problem with the battery... Phone cant be root / custom roms.
Is there another way to removed nearly all applications that we dont want and that can drain battery. We only need like bluettoth, phone email and calendar. All the rest can be removed to save battery.
Thanks a lot

No not without root... Most system apps are bloatware and can be removed to improve performance and battery life but like i said you need root to do this.
You can do things to save battery life like turn screen display down turn off gps etc also you can also download apps from play store to help save battery (but these are not as effective as uninstalling system apps) and since you have barred the download of apps this obviously is not possible.
thanks a lot for the answer
Do u mean 3-4 screen on time or standby time?

Ongoing Uninstalled App Usage

Hello!
I have an LG G4 and just got a notice that we're low on mobile data... We mainly use wifi so this piqued my interest enough to dog into my data usage. Wouldn't be the first time I accidentally turned off wifi or something.
I see that 'uninstalled apps' were using over 5 GB this billing period over mobile and over 26 GB over wifi! Going back this seems to be consistent for at least the last three cycles. The data usage is steady thoroughout the month, no spikes. Also, I don't use any apps that would chew through this much data, not even close. I use my phone for work emails, news reading and a hour of YouTube here and there (which is ALWAYS on wifi).
I thought maybe I uninstalled something that I totally forgot about this month, but the fact that it's ocntued for at least 3 months and the usage is so steady it really worries me.
I've looked everywhere I can think of and I can't seem to find anyone else with this problem... I'm hoping the brains at XDA forums can shed some light.
Please help!
