Just wondering if we can get 2.3.3 on X10i and ARE you still good on x10i?
I don't use and play much about hardware, I spent a lot of time with apps from market and flashed new ROM released (Now 6.1.3 V05 Cyanogen). Just want to use it for daily / generally.
I love my x10i. It's really nice phone designed. But I also love to have newer coming technology.
Confusing myself!!! Please advice...
Sony is releasing an official v2.3.3 gingerbread for our x10 in the end of q2, if you wanna wait then wait, if not then the arc is a mighty fine phone
I'm staying with my x10 for a while more cause I love the phone and I'm broken so I can't buy a new phone lol

well obviously 2.1 with multitouch has an advantage over 2.2 AOSP atm because one, 2.2 AOSP is still in development theres still work gotta be done, camera and stability etc, two, 2.1 with multitouch update would run superb on the X10 because its been developement and fully polished but one thing about 2.2 is, is that its ton faster than 2.1
but for me im sticking to my 2.2 AOSP atm with Gingerbread theme atm, i dont really need a camera anyways
i would say free x10 its perfectly stable other then the well known issues that causes the system to reboot, and once the update from SE comes out with MT im sure J and Z will be able to port it to 2.2 hopefully without too much hassle so it should be available on both the 2.1 and 2.2.
Fx10 is about as good as it gets for the x10 right now and its my daily rom and plenty stable for everyday use (at least for me). so thats my choice, if you need a camera though it seems Z is working his but off on it and has gotten something working so perhaps the next update will bring it to us.
2.1
with some mods.
Ok i got some money, i long time ago thinking change my x10 to ...
Now my x10i running on 2.3 v3 thx to Wolfbreak Im really appreciate this. Thx
Now im thinking between buying an ARC - mainly cause of the HDMI, and Sony- and SGSII -hardware capability- I read some article, post about challenging the 2 phone. And now stuck so many pros and cons on both side.
So which 1 you choose: stay with x10i, SGSII, ARC (optionaly Xplay? )
I'd stick to x10i for now because with wolf's 2.3.3 it really is pretty fast and stable, thus making it a good phone that can compete with most newer phones running on stock roms.
I don't know how things are in hungary, but here you usually get the best deals around christmas time and new stuff will be released continuously until then, I'd say lay low, read the news about upcoming handsets and make your decision then.
It all depends on what are your expectations from a smartphone and what u use it for mainly.
The X10 with 2.3 is a good phone imo and i'm pretty astisfied with it.
The Arc is an improved X10 - better screen / camera / performance ; but it's rly not that different.
The SGS II is in a total different cathegory with it's dual-core processor , but unless u are rly into opening apps in 1ms and stuff like that u won't notice such a big difference between ARC and SGS II.
The Play i would recommend only if u are a heavy gamer
U can just keep the X10 for now and w8 for the next generation of smartphones (maby quad-core or who nows )
It all comes down to what u use the phone for and what are your expectations D:
man!
there's no comparison between X10i, arc and SGS2 !
X10i is now outdated but still good for basic functionality,
if you can afford don't look at Arc, go for SGS2, its a Rocket, and you won't disappoint with its quality and features!
SGS2 is good but bad screen quality cause the type if screen it does. I will recommend you buy the Arc:
- 16 million colors but I don't think you eyes can process all colors at once.
- The camera sensor and front camera.
- The launcher is very beautiful and I don't want to look at the SGS2 cause the such ugly launcher.
- Bootloader unlocked and If you want TouchQuiz, you will have (I don't know exactly how boot loader works but as I know from HTC announcement that you can install other ROM from other device on your Arc. (Maybe SamSung does)
- etc.
But I don't think it's good ideo to compare X10 to these 2 phones and I think you know why. Brilliant.

If you have to, buy a sammy 2, if not, dont buy any and wait
jus wait wid x10 after wolf's 2.3 even i stopped my plan to buy a new one ..will wait until sony launches it dual core ...love the arc launcher though !!!
anyways else go for HTC Evo 4g or Sensation 4G
Don't rush to buy now. Everybody insists on the difference of the phones HOWEVER, that's better is about to come.
There are rumors by Eldar, the russian blogger, that Samsung wants to put out even a better phone - ahead of Iphone 5 (and that's why the law suit etc).
So instead of paying now and then in 2-3 months already a new one is on the market, please stick with X10 and then you upgrade afterwards.
The trouble with SG2 is the 3 second lag and the interface freezes from time to time, and depending on your (bad) luck, you might get one which has problems with the screen. Arc is still Sony, has house cracking issues, check online ...
Wolf just release a mod without FPS cap and no audio lag for X10.
So just hang in there
sgs2 is by far the best out of your choices...
anyone who says otherwise is an se fanboy.
Sgs2 and Arc are awesome but you should stick.with the x10(its not THAT far behind) cause by the end of the year i bet there will be new improved models and you have time to save more money

First they leave us at 2.1... Then they upgrade X10 to 2.3, but stil leaves us at 2.1... THEN they upgrade all the newer ones to 4.0, but still leaving us at 2.1 We Deserve a upgrade to atleast Froyo!...
Please, SE, Try Upgrading our Minis/Mini pros to 2.3 or at least 2.2...

I wouldn't count on SE upgrading our phones anymore. Even the Cyanogenmod team was not able to release a properly working 2.3 ROM for our phones
I love to see when SE would actually do that.
Maybe when the new xperia models will be getting ICS around the time they are already short of their first year's?
The nexus one not getting ics is worrying me. Google should know Android the best, yet they can't make an ics update for the nexus one. And what is our hardware compared to the nexus one?.sure, it could be for marketing reasons to get people to upgrade. But I'm still worried.

The Xperia X10 MINI and MINI PRO came out last year. And Sony Ericsson say they support officially their phones 2 years after purchase. We are not talking about the X10. And we don't care you bought a new phone to come and rub it in our faces.
While development is still active for our devices I see no reason to upgrade.
I'd say give it a few months and we may see a port for our devices.
And if not then I'm not fussed' having 2.3 is a privalige itself to say SE support only 2.1
Hi Guys!
Well i bought a Xperia Mini Pro its my first physical QUERTY Android Keyboard. Its a amazing phone and i love it =D. Actually it has ICS 4.0.4 rooted, the nice, but is not faster than 2.3.4 but the UI its the reason to have it.
I'd like to know which game or app i can use it and to do it greater =D
I had a X8 and i installed all the ROM's (no stock) than i found, but now its different i have to unlock de bootloader and more thing... i cannot do it cus i dont have more time (my job... =[ ) so, i just use the Stock ROM, but i wanna know all your advices, cheats and all u know for the SK17 =)
something like... I Got a Xperia Mini Pro Mini.... so now what?
Thanks for ur time and sorry for my english =D.
NOTE: I not trying to make a dilenma about ICS or Ginger, i just wanna know about apps or something to make it better (the phone with android).
ICS is bigger, heavier, you can't make it faster than GB.
I mean something like
Themes for Xperia Mini Pro with ICS 4.0.x Stock ROM
Amazing Themes!
Hi there! I've done a successful rooting, flashing (nAa) and install of miniCMS 9.0 (3.0.3) on my mini pro (u20i), though I find that the apps are really slow, and Trebuchet (default launcher) keeps crashing. I chalk it up to having so little RAM on this tiny mobile, so I'm saving up for the slightly bigger x10.
I've heard that Sony is allowing updates to Android 4.0 right now, and I'd like to try to go back to the standard Sony version of Android to check out the performance. I've downloaded and successfully flashed ( U20_2.1.1.C.0.0_Kernel.ftf ) and then subsequently gone back to NAa.. that didn't effect my install of miniCM9 at all.
I have tried the Sony Update Service download and run it through alright- both with the standard kernel and with nAa flashed, it tells me my software is up to date and leaves my phone alone.
I do need to install something lighter though, if possible. Odd things keep happening, like unrequested apps loading (Like phone, for example, in the bathroom, and bluetooth enabling itself after every time it was switched off last night for about ten minutes).
Any suggestions? Much appreciated, -illys

Any Sony updates to ICS are ONLY for 2011 devices and newer, NOT for the x10 series of phones from 2010, like we have.
You can save up for the Xperia X10, but it will give you basically the same hardware platform as your X10MiniPro has now, so you won't see much improvement in this ROMS performance, and it will still not give you Sony's Android 4.0, because that is a 2010 device too.

Thanks for the clarification! Do you think though that miniCM9 will run better on the xperia pro? I've been very impressed with minicms on the x10 mini pro, but running apps on top of it has been like goopy molasses. I'll give up the idea of running Sony 4.0 software on these little systems- honest, Cyanogenmod is lovely.
Trying to install miniCM7..
Thanks

If the Xperia Pro (2011) handled ICS badly, Sony wouldn't have put out an upgrade for it, I bet CM9 and CM10 (JellyBean) will both run lovely on the Xperia Pro.
Trebuchet is really bad on our phones tbh. I replaced it with Nova launcher and That's great.
And JB runs faster than ICS on the robyn at least apparently so hopefully it will be great on here once we get it!
