[Q] Question About Xperia Mini Pro Battery

hey guys...
recently got a xperia mini pro off ebay... been using the xperia mini before and was a great phone.
1. does the xperia mini pro (sk17i) and xperia mini (st15i) use the same battery? If so, the battery on my xperia mini shows 1120mAh, while the mini pro shows 1200mAh
2. the previous question leads to this: do you guys know why when i put my ear close to the back cover of the phone, i can hear a faint "bzzzzzzz" sound? Most likely coming from my battery
FYI: never heard of this noise on my xperia mini
thanks

Its better you go for a replacement bro... may be the damage occurred in shipment coz a battery should never give a buzzzz sound as you said

my phone was bought on ebay from hong kong seller
i have also rooted the phone...
are you suggesting i goto an aftermarket service center? i'm afraid since this is not a common phone, my small battery problem may get worse after they open up the phone and cant figure out what's going on, possibly causing some other part to not function properly

Xperia Z2 and Oneplus one

Hey.
So i got a chance to trade my used Oneplus one for a used Sony xperia z2 like new with all accessories sealed and the dock head to head.
What do you think I should do and why?
If you have experience with both please elaborate! What's better and what's worse?!
Thx.

I never had oneplus one, but in xperia you will surely enjoy the waterproofness.
However there's one important thing while getting a xperia device, a warranty. Make sure that it's there and valid. Also before changing to xperia check whether the headphones jack works.
Sent from Xperia Z2
Seeing your signature, how do you compare the M8 and the Z2?!

Surely Xperia Z2 is better.. In Oneplus, CM is Stock.. So no other option. In Z2, Stock is entirely different and its almost as fast as CM ROMs.. OnePlus is good for its price, but when u change to a Z2 its an entirely different game. You would experience a whole new level of Camera experience in Z2(With all the add-ons as well) and also battery backup is better on Z2. Performance is similar coz of the same CPU and same amount of RAM. One more advantage is Z2 is Water-resistant(IP58).. U can take it to swim, shower, etc and have lots of fun.. Also Z2 is built tough unlike Z3 or OnePlus.. U need not worry about your Z2 falling down from your hands.. U should just know how to use the device when u get it.. Use Google and Youtube and xda as well and do a lot of reading so you'll understand the device better..

Well the guy was kind enough to handle it to me for trial!
I'm using it and the software is nice, smoothly operating!
However, comparing to Oneplus One I can find the following drawbacks:
-Slow charging! WHY THE HELL ON EARTH DID SONY NOT ADOPT 2amps CHARGERS!!!
-Low volume! Especially during speaker on calls! Closed the windows and turned off the radio while driving and still barely heard my wife!

- Charging is NORMAL in z2 provided its 3200mah and it takes 2hrs n 15 mins approx for me in here from 0-100.
- Low volume on speakers are only on 167 fw which got lower compared to 4.4.2 and i am sure that it will be fixed in next update which will be Lollipop. About calls, enable Speaker Voice Enhancement and it will be more than enough to burst your ears..

135 Minutes? with the Original EP880 charger and no fast charge activated?
That might be true from 0-80% but i've never managed to reach 100% under 180 minutes.

I used a stopwatch on my other phone to check the time.. Approx 2.40 hrs it was.. Its been around same ever since. Voltages may vary from country to country, depending on the kind of wall socket too.. I see American wall sockets are different, in here in India, we use old fashioned wall sockets, so old fashioned chargers..
I had both and sold the one plus.
Actually I had 3 OPOs, the first one was perfect and I gave it to a friend of mine (because I had allready my Z2).
The second was dead on arrival and after a fight with the oneplus support I got refunded.
The third one had the yellow band issue and I sold it on ebay because the oneplus support blocked all my request.
The Oneplus is a gread phone IF it is in perfect condition, but the support is beyond everithing.
But lets compare the facts.
Batterie lifetime: I had about 6-7h of screen on time with the one and 8-9h with the Z2.
The stamina mode is very impressive and does it's job well.
Screen: If you have no yellow band, I would call it a draw. About the same brighness and point of view.
Bands: The OPO lacks of LTE band 20 so here in Germany two of the major three carriers are NOT supported.
Camera: Sony has an OIS, the OPO not. If your bootloader is locked and your DRM keys intact, pictures in dark scenes are better with the Z2. But only with working bionZ. Rooted they about the same.
Handling: One point for the OPO here. For it's size it fits realy well. The Z2 is just like a brick.

Xperia Z2 Warranty

hi all,
It appears my phone is toast, when connected to the charger via USB, the phone charges, gets very hot, the display does not shut off, and all apps respond erratically. when I place the phone on the magnetic charger doc, the LED blinks and the phone does not charge. Searching on this forum the problem seems to be with the mainboard. I called Sony usa, they said since the phone was purchased in Taiwan, hence the warranty is only for 1 year and there is no Estimated time (lot longer than 14 day turnaround) when the device will be repaired. They asked me to mail the phone to them along with a copy of the invoice. I purchased the phone (New) on Ebay (seller 23port), i contacted the seller regarding this issue and the seller asked me to ship the phone to Taiwan and he will have it repaired and sent back to me free of charge (except that i declare the value of the phone $50 for them to avoid import duty).
Has anyone here dealt with sony usa for warranty, when the phone was purchased internationally. I am very hesitant to send the phone overseas to get it repaired.
my 1 year warranty will expire on april 1st. so I have to decide one way or the other.
thanks
Ashish
Ok,
So i mailed the phone to Sony USA with a copy of the original purchase receipt. Within 14 days, Sony USA sent me a brand new Xperia Z2.
Hope this might help other users who are facing the same situation as i did.

asking Sony to quote to replace the battery in my XZU, what a farce!

My XZU's battery doesn't last too long these days, I'm lucky if it lasts till early evening even with just light use, unless I top it up.
So I went on the Sony Mobile help/service page and used the online chat.
Basically Sony said I had to send it in for them to assess. They would then quote me a price to actually do the work, and if I didn't want to pay the price, I would have to pay £22 to get it back!
I said I was unwilling to send it in without any kind of quote or estimate. I asked why they didn't have a fixed price list for standard things like this, but the service rep was unhelpful. I asked why he couldn't contact the service department and ask them, but he repeated I'd have to send it in. I said that I owned a whole load of different Sony products, but would never buy any more because of this.
I think it's ridiculous that they don't have a fixed price list for such routine work as this.
I think I'm going to have to buy a battery and find a local company who have the tools to fit it for me.
Changing the battery is easy.
Opening the back panel is done by heating it up with a hot gun for 5 min and it will come lose easy.
The service manuals can be downloaded from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2516339
Part number can be found in: 1276-6439_Rev4.pdf
Battery 3000.0 mAh, P/n: 1270-8451
Replacing battery instructions is found in: 1276-6435_Rev9.pdf
Chapter 3, Section 3.4 Battery 3000.0 mAh.
You might want to replace the back panel with included adhesive if it does not stick when you are done and assemble the device.
Alternatively you can buy the adhesive strip separate.

[problem with xperia xz2 charger]

Hi everyone,
Recently I've just bought myself an Xperia XZ2. Everything works pretty well, except the charger included in the package. It's the UCH12 with Quick Charge 3.0; actually it works well most of the time, but sometimes I find out that the device is still being charged but the battery percentage doesn't increase or increase slowly.
The retailer said that my device was brand-new when imported, but they had to unbox them and transport the package separately with the device due to some law limits. So, I'm afraid that my device is actually not original and my issue above comes from this.
Any ideas on my issue? Thanks a lot!
