I have a T-Mobile G2 Touch (also known as the HTC Hero - the one with the 'chin') and am having issues keeping a stable wifi connection.
Radio: 63.18.55.06SU_6.35.17.03
Kernel: 2.6.29.9-flykernel-12a
[email protected] #202
Rom: CyanogenMod-7-04252011-NIGHTLY-Hero
Build: GRH78C
I also experienced the same issue with the original Android 1.5 and also with a generic HTC Hero 2.1 rom.
Is this a common issue with the HTC Hero/G2 Touch and is there a fix?
Most of the problems appear to be connecting to a BT Openzone connection, but I can check some other wifi hotspots as well just to verify.....
Try fixing the router to one channel instead of auto, that helped with my parents home hub and my Galaxy S

Hi,
can someone please help me.
On the sense builds (V3.1, V3.6, EVo v2.2), I cant get any internet connection at all (forget data drops, i havent got ANY connection / 3G)
I can set it up with Wifi, and it ALL runs perfectly.
I have 4 bars reception and can make calls.
if I turn WIFI off and I cant connect to any internet pages. where it should say 3G it has a little G with up and down arrows but can still make calls. On the V3.1 and v3.6 tried to switch to GSM auto as suggested in one thread, made no difference at all.
Am running ROm 3.14 with radio built in 2.15 i think.
check this - if I use an old build like froyostone 2.1 (non-sense) then it can connect to 3g no problem with internet, same ROM / Radio.
hope someone can help. I tried to put this up in the actual build threads and then nobody answers.
thanks

There are more post about it and they do explain how to edit your network connections of your phone provider
Hi,
I am really puzzled about the speed and connection of 3G/Edge on my Htc HD2 - I have noticed that very often I need to disconnect and reconnect to be able to browse website because the internet connection would not respond. Upon making a new connection, after browsing for 5-10minutes, the connection seems dead and I have to disconnect and re-connect. This has been a problem since using my HTC Touch Pro2 also and the same is for the HD2.
But I also have tested the connection speed on the HTC Desire HD and internet is flawless. Only problem is the Windows Mobile 6 which seems to drop connection. Anyone has encountered similar problems and has a solution to this?
Thanks!
Try to flash your radio to the newest one. Also try android on HTC HD2 it worth it.
Well i have tried every radio but I still get this problem - it was the same on my Touch pro2 also. I initially thought it was a problem with my operator but after using the Desire on it, I realized it was Windows Mobile 6 that was the culprit. Is your internet working flawlessly without any drop?
I've just bought the Flyer Wifi the day before yesterday and I just realized that, with the Android installed (Gingerbred 2.3.4) it's is impossible in any way to connect the tablet to my phone (Htc Desire-Bravo) which has 3G. Neither with wifi nor bluetooth. Googling around (without making any test since I'm in time to give the tablet back if I'm not able to solve this problem) I noticed:
conectin to my Desire via Wifi tethering (through apps such as wifi-tethering and 5 more that I tested on my Desire) is impossible since these apps setup an ad-hoc network that it's not supported by the Flyer Wifi: in fact, in wifi settings the new wifi network (APAndroid) showed up, tries to connect but never get the ip numer;
sharing my Desire internet connection through bluetooth PAN seems to be also impossible since there are no PAN-client apps for Android
My question is: if I upgrade to Honeycomb I will be able to share my internet connection either via wifi or bt? (remember: Desire server, Flyer client).
I have just few days to decide to stay with the Flyer to give it back to the dealer and this issue is the most important one for me.

EDIT: Opsss!!! I've just realized that this is my first post! Sorry, but it's like I'm at home in this forum even if I don't participate so much...
There's a modified wpa_supplicant file floating around here that allows ad-hoc connections. I tether to my Atrix all the time.
Much more easy than I tought... I upgrade my Desire ROM to one of the last (Runnimede I think) and without anything else tethering with the Flyer now works. Next step will be doing the same with bluetooth, but, at the moment, that's enough to keep my new tablet!
Will this work for a view as well? I'm having the same issue.

I just posted a possible solution related to this except I did it on the View:

I've seen many posts/threads about Wifi issues with the EVO 4G LTE, but they all seem to fit in these categories:
- Bad Wifi signal due to poor antenna contact
- Wifi not working at all in an early ROM version
- Wifi causing random device reboots
- Problems with Wifi tether
However, I'm having a Wifi problem that I can't find much information on: After about a day of use, connecting to my home and work wireless networks, my Wifi gets stuck and will not respond until I reboot the device. When the Wifi is frozen, I have no Wifi signal/connection (even though a wireless network may be available), and under Wifi settings it says "Turning off Wi-Fi..." and the on/off toggle switch is disabled. I'm unable to get the Wifi to respond/work unless I reboot the device. I've seen just a handful of others who have had this problem, but no mention of a solution or method for troubleshooting. I would appreciate any feedback others have experiencing this problem, or ways to solve/troubleshoot it.
Details:
ROM: MeanROM 4.8
Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep = Always
Security: S-OFF
I have been having this identical problem for about a week now. It is not limited to one router, either.
This was happening to me when I was on MR 2.6. Since going to 4.8 the problem has gone away.

Been happening to me on many different versions of MeanROM. I've been wondering if it has anything to do with the nightly backups I schedule TiBu to do, because its always in the morning when I pick up the phone that it is frozen and needing a reboot.
If it is ROM-related, could we use a different wpa_supplicant (or combination of files) from different ROMs to troubleshoot? If so, does anyone have a suggestion of files/ROM sources?
Hi Lads!
I'm experiencing problems with my HTC sensation. I've installed newest ROM and gapps from Albinoman887 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2524961). My GPS works just fine if I'm using WiFi or data network, unfortunately I don't have an internet plan so I can only use WiFi when in range. No matter how long I would wait google maps (I've saved offline map) or Garmin/TomTom wont connect with GPS. I've tried to connect it in not urbanised area, were i wasn't surrounded by building or high trees.I was switching between 'device only' and 'assited with WiFi and network data' but since I don't have internet connection I think it makes no difference. I had this problem as well on - cm-10.1-20130610-Albinoman887-pyramid , but as I had internet plan wasn't bothered about that. Did you face similar problem ? Would you know how to fix that issue ?
