Hi Lads!
I'm experiencing problems with my HTC sensation. I've installed newest ROM and gapps from Albinoman887 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2524961). My GPS works just fine if I'm using WiFi or data network, unfortunately I don't have an internet plan so I can only use WiFi when in range. No matter how long I would wait google maps (I've saved offline map) or Garmin/TomTom wont connect with GPS. I've tried to connect it in not urbanised area, were i wasn't surrounded by building or high trees.I was switching between 'device only' and 'assited with WiFi and network data' but since I don't have internet connection I think it makes no difference. I had this problem as well on - cm-10.1-20130610-Albinoman887-pyramid , but as I had internet plan wasn't bothered about that. Did you face similar problem ? Would you know how to fix that issue ?

Hi,
can someone please help me.
On the sense builds (V3.1, V3.6, EVo v2.2), I cant get any internet connection at all (forget data drops, i havent got ANY connection / 3G)
I can set it up with Wifi, and it ALL runs perfectly.
I have 4 bars reception and can make calls.
if I turn WIFI off and I cant connect to any internet pages. where it should say 3G it has a little G with up and down arrows but can still make calls. On the V3.1 and v3.6 tried to switch to GSM auto as suggested in one thread, made no difference at all.
Am running ROm 3.14 with radio built in 2.15 i think.
check this - if I use an old build like froyostone 2.1 (non-sense) then it can connect to 3g no problem with internet, same ROM / Radio.
hope someone can help. I tried to put this up in the actual build threads and then nobody answers.
thanks

use the search on the andriod threats
There are more post about it and they do explain how to edit your network connections of your phone provider
I have a T-Mobile G2 Touch (also known as the HTC Hero - the one with the 'chin') and am having issues keeping a stable wifi connection.
Radio: 63.18.55.06SU_6.35.17.03
Kernel: 2.6.29.9-flykernel-12a
[email protected] #202
Rom: CyanogenMod-7-04252011-NIGHTLY-Hero
Build: GRH78C
I also experienced the same issue with the original Android 1.5 and also with a generic HTC Hero 2.1 rom.
Is this a common issue with the HTC Hero/G2 Touch and is there a fix?
Most of the problems appear to be connecting to a BT Openzone connection, but I can check some other wifi hotspots as well just to verify.....
Try fixing the router to one channel instead of auto, that helped with my parents home hub and my Galaxy S
Hi,
I'm having problems with my Galaxy S2. I'm using the device without any problems for more than 3-4 months, using my work and house wifis. The problem started one week ago, without any changes in the work router (there is no MAC restrictions or any other security configurations) I can connect but there is no internet after a while, internet works for seconds or minutes and then, it stops.
- I have checked the sleep policy and is set "Never".
- I have flashed (with full wipe) to different roms versions (KG6, KH1, KH3...) in all of them, it fails once you boot.
- I don't know if in one of the last flashes it changed some about wifi device driver (or rom) that it doesn't change with a new flash.
Now my version is:
PDA: I9100XXKH3
PHONE: I9100XXKH3
CSC: I9100XAKH3
I don't what to do because I'm starting to think that is a phisical problem...but, if yes, it is possible to produce it with flashing?
Thanks in advance!
I have exactly the same issue, and I only get it when I'm on my home wifi router which is really annoying.
I think it's an overall android error as it appears to be happening on a lot of different phones, but not initially when you buy them :/
Have you tried a laptop to connect to your work's WiFi and see if it can get onto the internet.
My work requires a proxy to be used to get out of the network (I had to use AS Proxy).
There are several devices connected and working fine in the Wifi network:
- Galaxy S
- 3 Galaxy S2 of partners
- HTC Wildfire
And also, my S2 have been working for months.
hi everyone,
my phone is a GT-I9300, android 4.0.4, Baseband I9300XXLFB (original, stock), Kernel vers. 3.0.15-782020-user[...], Build number IMM76D.I9300XXBLFB.
it seems that Samsung didn't only change the Search function through the update we got last week, but also disabled Tethering (I think).
the update was meant for the US version of S3 where the Tether option is sold separately by the operators but they also released it for the international version. I found Nexus users complainig abt the same issue after update.
does anyone know a fix for this? can someone reccomend a good custom ROM please
Thank you

"my S3 worked fine untill few days ago...I don't know what changed it, but my Wi-Fi doesn't work anymore. it gets connected to the router but I have no transfers (tried it on my router but also in many "public" Wi-FI). also, none of the Tethering options work (haven't tried them before 2 days ago, only after the Wi-Fi issue came up), none of the Wi-Fi, USB or Bluetooth (Tethering gets connected fine, but the connection has the exclamation mark and I have no internet on my PC). It might have happend after Samsung's update fix we got few days ago for searching or something, but I'm not sure."
Wi-Fi is working after I've done a reset on the router...but I don't understand how the hell my router affects other Wi-Fi connections. There seems to be a software glitch with the Wi-Fi somehow.

I tried the *#0011# command and switched off the "WIFI Power Save Mode" but that didn't fix it either.
I suppose it is a software problem as the phone (apparently) worked fine fot 3 weeks (I got it on the 7th July).
did/does anyone have this issue? please help me fix it and also, please reccomend a good custom ROM (or "the best" if there is such thing ).
Thank you very much for any help

According to your description, I'd say that your wifi chip's done
I'd call to local service/place you purhaced the phone and explain the problem.
Warranty should cover that kind of problems.

That just tells a part of the story.
Do you have the internet working on some other devices connected to the same wifi network?
And hope you do not have any proxies controlling your wifi network.
In which case you have to configure the proxy settings in your device.
The connected and the signal strength good part is only for the wireless link from your device to the wifi, I guess.
Slow GT P1000 WiFi on CM10
Slow wifi on cm10 on GT 7 p1000
I have searched to death, but cant find a solution or actual discussion on this.
MY p1 is on;-
Baseband ver. P1000XXJPZ
kernel ver. 2.6.35.13-go6bec8e

Wed Sep 2604:17:41 PDT 2012
Build nr. cm_p1-userdebug 4.1.1 eng..20120926.040310 test-keys
performance settings are default- Too scared to touch!
The problem is that wifi is slow, i.e. speedtest.net app shows normal speed, yet ACTUAL performance is very slow. For instance, connecting to the same network and going to the same site, such as Cm 10 nightly downloads, takes about twice as long on my tab as on HTC Desire S or laptop. This goes for most sites and apps including BBC News, Pulse, Bloomberg etc . Even though I'm a newbie, I have run cm9 and have flashed every cm10 nightly since they started. Yes, I use it as a daily driver and whilst I got close to going back to cm9, I'm NOT.
So far the wait has been great. I love cm10 and now everything I need now works, apart from wifi tethering. (Does Usb tethering work?) It's just this slow wifi that bothers me, if there's any help out there.
3G/HSDPA works fine, fast and smooth. Thanks to everyone for all the great work(cdesai, jenkins, many others)! Even us older, non-tech guys like bloat-free smooth OS'.
Problem solved.
Played around with advanced settings under WiFi and inserted:good: my router settings on the Tab.
It now seems good and in a quick comparison with Desire S, speeds were almost identical.
