Battery Stats Wipe - Fascinate Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

What's the best way to reset/recalibrate a battery? It's reset during a kernel change, right? Is there another way to do it?
Sorry for the noob question =/

You are supposed to fully charge the battery before resetting.

Search for battery calibration in the Market if you're not comfortable doing it yourself by wiping bstats.

[ROM][04.20.11] Stock ED01/Debloated Debinged ED01

Hey folks,
I put this together earlier. Seems to work ok. Fully bloated, but deodexed and zpaligned ED01.
It contains busybox, and has been rooted.
Does not contain recovery, kernel, or radio. Those you must supply. Chances are, EC01 radio works just as well as the ED01 radio.
Ammend only at this time! This means use CWR 2.5.x.
http://adrynalyne.grdlock.net/bamf/roms/ed01_stock.zip
This one is a bit better. Once again, no recovery, kernel, or radio.
Debloated/Debinged (even browser and long press search)/Deodexed/Zipaligned/latest Maps, Gmail, Market, Voice Search. HAS NOT BEEN TESTED YET.
http://www.multiupload.com/BKHF5DKJ18
You work fast. Thanks a bunch.
Downloading debloated version now... I will test it and let you know if any issues come up... fyi, I'm running jt's latest voodoo kernel and (obviously) EC01 radio... thanks for your hard work

What would be the best way to go about rooting the OTA that I accepted? Lol
Initial boot good (wiped Davlik and cache, but not data), launched XDA premium 1.1 no problem, let's see how it does with Nitro's Honeycomb theme with the transparent dialer and the themed keyboard ...

Debloated version installed, theme over it. Good stuff.

Personally I like using the ADB method
What OTA did you accept?
Links removed: I just saw that ED01 OTA is being pushed out. I'd wait until someone more knowledgeable comes along or try posting this in one of the ED01 threads that are popping up quickly.
Nitro's honeycomb theme works as well... so far so good...

F*ck adrynalyne beat me to this.... lol. Can I add to this and repost it with things I add? Namely malware protection and other things? I'm also going to make it edify scripting so it works with cwm. 3

Its not as hard as I thought it was, it just comes down to the updater-script that I mess up on.

Right on, guess you gotta start somewhere, if you can do it without causing bricks then by all means.

Hi adrynalyne,
Can you share what are kind of ROM, recovery, kernel, and radio you using on your phone? And the link to download them.
Thanks
Debloated/debinged with a touch of blur. Great job man. Really appreciate all the work you put into our phone.
Currently running EB01 stock, EC10 voodoo, and EC01 radio.
Can i just flash this rom after wiping cache & dalvik? or do I need to turn off voodoo, etc? Rom doesn't contain kernel, etc so I think I'd be ok?
hhmmmm shuold i do an ota then this? to get the readio and kernals?
doe sit block the tether tracker?

I only wiped dalvik and cache. Flashed over EC01 rom and radio with voodoo kernel. Not a single problem.
Is there a benefit to the new radio? If not I will just hang tight for the community project.

click the thanks button if u mean it lol
I'm not seeing the battery stats jumping behavior, I just restarted my phone 3x and it stays at 70%. Is the bug specific to the unlocked 2.3.4? Occurs starting at a specific % level? I flashed the official .83 SBF, applied the official 2.3.4 OTA update through SD card, and rooted. I did not do any sort of special battery reset or anything.
Im running an at&t based rom of 2.3.4 on a uk phone so maybe thats why? I fixed the ram issue gonna let the battery drain now to see if its fixed

I am pretty sure you're on cm7, you will need Odin to get back to rds file system.

My advice, go buy either a blackberry or HTC data cable, they are far superior

No it won't. Cm uses a different file system. That's why you need the pit file and must use Odin to repartition your phone. Bootloader had nothing to do with it.

It's not just the filesystem, it's the partition mounts and types. The *ONLY* way to overcome the mount point (mtd vs bml) issue is Odin.

Is there anyway I can flash 'simply stock'? Its also gingerbread. But everytime I try to flash it just boots a fresh install of bifmod >=[[[

Simply Stock is a JV* ROM uses the same partition/file system that 2.2 ROMs use. If you need the GB bootloaders to flash it - it wont work for you.

Find a different CM7 based ROM that works better on your phone:
CM7
MIUI
Trigger 2.3.5
OMFGB
NO FRILLS
Espresso
I suggest No Frills 2.1. So far it gave me the best battery life:

Try them all and see how each work.

Q: Which rom are you running? It might be dependent on that first. If you're running Joker's ROMs..try this:
1 - Make a backup in CWM - make a copy somewhere too if you want
2 - format system
3 - Wipe data
4 - Reboot recovery
5 - Flash ROM
6 - Flash Battery %
7 - Reboot
8 - Enjoy
See if that works?
Best,
K

My guess is that if it doesn't, you could probably still flash the battery percent fix from Joker's rom since ROCKO is based off of jokers..

Lag

My phone is lagging really bad, any idea on how to stop it?
Sent from my DROID X2 using XDA
We're going to need more info.
What exactly is lagging? The phone in general or your keyboard?
Are you running stock? Or on a ROM?
Does this persist after you restart? Or have you had your phone on for months straight?
Are you running a bunch of Apps/Widgets? How much free space memory and RAM do you have?
My bros x2 lags. Its gotta be the blur...
Sent from my MB870 using XDA
Not necessarily. I can get cm7 to lag. I imagine the lag is caused by too many processes at one time.

It's really darn hard to brick this thing and flashing is easy.
I'll lay it out like you want to flash Cm7 and you are the 2.3.4 kernel
Root your device
Download Bootstrap recovery (fyi:clockwork recovery and Bootstrap recovery are the same thing)
Install Bootstrap recovery from whatever file manager you use
Get the Cm7 rom, Google apps zip and Cm7 recovery from the Cm7 thread in development and place them on your EXTERNAL sd card
Start Bootstrap (it'll appear as System recovery on your phone)
Wipe Data, cache and Dalvik (Advanced>Dalvik chache)
Then, install zip>choose zip from sd card (now here is where you're supposed to flash the zips from the Cm7 in a particular order. Refer back to that thread as I cannot remember what order it is)
Once you've flashed everything, go back to the first menu and reboot your system.
Also learn how to do a nandroid. Long, and sad stories short it saves assess.

I have used both Eclipse and CM7 on my DX2 for extended periods and I prefer CM7 simply because of how fast it transitions. If you want a lag free phone, go with that.
Follow what thelowend said above, flashing ROM's is really easy. Just read carefully and follow directions and you will be fine

your post here and in the other thread suggest that your battery is just losing its ability to hold charge. wiping stats might pretend that it's fully charged, but you're not going to get optimal charge on an old battery. you can pick up extras for cheap.

I bought some cheap batteries (believe it was a pack of two) for about $20 and they were terrible. They wouldn't hold a charge for longer than 2 hours.
