My streak got bricked, nothing working, no light, no recovery mod, no fastboot, no QLD and no charging even. I searched a lot and the only solutions I found are 1. replace internal SD, 2. JTAG or 3. Call Dell. So I preferred to call dell before losing the warranty. First I tried to contact them through website but no response, today I called them through (Google Phone ) and after about 30 minutes of talking, talking and talking The call disconnected due internet issue .
Then I checked the website and found a new support request with the status "ReOpen-Assigned", so my question is What does the status mean ?
PS. I put the whole story above to support others .
Thanks,
I had the same situation by using the fastboot clear command. I reported it to dell who sent ups who came and took my streak to Budapest (I'm in the UK) and I had it back fixed in about a week.

Today I am in Germany (Wiesbaden) and I called US Dell because in Germany office everything in German :|.
i had a similar issue where my internal sd card was fried. called dell up and just told them it wouldn't turn on, just dell logo. They mailed me a new one overnight and sent my old one back.

calle 611 from my dell streak 5, it's an att phone/tablet, talked to an att representative and asked for an unlock code so I can use my streak 5 abroad. After a few minutes, he looked up the imei code and told me that I'd have to fax in my copy of the receipt for the phone. I asked why and he said something about the phone needing further action for unlocking. I thought it was very strange so kept asking what the problem was. He just said it wasn't a problem with the phone but that something to do with whether my account was qualified for unlocking of the phone. At that point, I just told him to f**k off, but gently and without any cuss words of course.
Has anyone else experienced this with att?
I bought my Dell Streak 5 about a month ago from a Craigslist seller, came with box and all original contents.
This was my third or fourth time asking att for unlock codes and I had never heard att asking for proof of purchase/transfer of phone.
Is ebay unlock sellers my only choice at this point?
Just call back. Tell them you bought it retail. Also state that your using it for overseas. If you get the same thing wait a bit call back. Hope that helps

That may be the cause of your problem. They can probably tell that you are not the original owner. Was the seller the original owner? Can you get a copy of the original receipt? Would the seller call on your behalf to verify that the ownership has been transferred?
I had a similar problem today, att told me it can be unlocked but they cannot find a code in their database and that I would have to call dell to get one. Dell of course told me I need to find the original owner have them call dell to transfer ownership. Strange thing beings how this is a two year old device.
tell them it was a gift from a relative and it would be night mare to get the receipt..
or just pay on ebay... much easier..
Hi,
I was hoping someone could take a look at the attached log that appears to have captured what causes my Streak to reboot when using GPS apps.
It happens regularly with Sygic or GMaps, it has also happened when using Freecaddie Pro but doesn't seem to affect Endomondo pro. It has happened on the 3 o2 dell streaks that I have owned. It started happening quite soon after I got the first device and that one was replaced under warranty as I thought it was something to do with the 2.2 upgrade o2 released. The second device was the same and was replaced under warranty due to a cracked screen. The 3rd device is now rooted and running DSC 1.1 (Excellent work) but this happens on any of the ROMS I have tried.
Any ideas gratefully received. I am out of contract and trying to decide whether to get a new device on contract with '3' either a Galaxy SIII or Note or go for the Sim only option with the streak. I use the GPS a lot so it is quite important but I also love the streak and don't want to change if it can be fixed.
One thought that has crossed my mind is could the SIM card cause such a problem?
Cheers,
Jon.
hmm... if you say the SIM might be the culprit... how bout trying with other SIM and see what happen? such as your parents SIM or your friends...
Had the same thought after I posted. Waiting for a new SIM to arrive on a different network on a 1 month rolling contract so I can still go for a new device if it doesn't fix it. Will report back when I have tested it.
Cheers,
Jon.
Hi There,
Last month I was on a trip and I took lots of pictures and video of family of family, and filled up my SD card. I switched to internal memory since I didn't have a computer at the time.
I was using my phone on the kitchen table reading a wikipedia article and the screen turned off (automatically). I pressed a button to turn it back on so I could continue reading, and nothing happened. I pressed the power, the home, everything, but got no response from the phone.
I pulled the battery and put it back in, and still got nothing. I have a few spare batteries (and my girlfriend has the same phone so I knew they were fine), and was unable to even get a boot screen.
I pulled the phone in and tried turning it on this way. I felt the area next to the camera get warm, but was still unable to see any other signs of life out of it.
I plugged the phone into my computer as a next step, and the computer didn't recognize it at all. I pressed the power button, the area got warm, but still my computer refused to recognize anything.
I called Bell, and they said there was nothing they could do, but since I had phone insurance, I could get it replaced. I asked them about my pictures, and they said they couldn't do anything to save them.
I called Samsung, and as I was travelling in the US, I got the US Samsung, which, upon hearing the model number, told me to call Samsung UK. I thought that was weird, so I called Samsung Canada through my VoIP account, and they told me to call a local dealer.
I called the local dealer, but they told me they only serviced printers. I called back, and they sent me to Samsung Service Absolut, some outfit in Montreal that services Samsung phones and apparently other things as well. They transferred me around, and told me that they couldn't help me, since the phone seemed to be dead.
I'm trying to locate somebody that can help me get my data from my phone. I've tried contacting a few people, but they told me they couldn't help.
Does anybody here know how to help me?
Thanks!!!!
EDIT: I tried a USB jig and got nothing, no screen, ODIN didn't detect it, my computer didn't detect it (WIndows and Linux both, multiple computers)
Strange...

Nope no JTag attempts, how does that work? I believe generally there's a JTag port or something isn't there? Or does it go work via the USB plug?

Hello everyone
I'm having a problem with my Sim card and or holder. It randomly says Sim card not found or missing when it's perfectly still. I tried replicating the problem by throwing my phone into the couch and shaking it, but that doesn't do it. I have flashed multiple roms, flappjaxxx, cm 10 "stable", paranoid android, but as of now I'm on 100% stock. I used kies to restore to stock and i updated my baseband with I717UCMB4. Is there a clear cache option? I didn't clear any caches going to stock. As of right now it works but will go out sometime today....
Thanks in advance and I have found a $9 replacement with tools but that's 9 dollars and far away.

It's a known hardware issue, call warranty. This topic has been covered multiple times and a quick search would yield a lot of results. At&t replaced mine no questions asked. I had a repair place near me and walked in after talking with warranty on the phone with a wiped phone and handed it over and they handed me a new one.

What if it isn't covered by the warranty? Can i replace it or no? I apologize but I really did search and again but I do not see my particular problem...
Once again thanks.

I suggest you take the device to a qualified repair shop...
While it is possible to change this item yourself, it does take expertise, and the proper tools...
your call of course....g
Sorry to bring it up again, but I've searched and the only temporary solution is to take the sim and battery out for a minute to place in another phone which I get a random text from 1-000-000-000. It says in the text....
Alpsgaacds01.attwireless.net:5400f=0.......
Blah Blah Blah.
I'll keep searching and I'm going to call AT&T to see if they can help. My phone is out of warranty btw...

You can call Samsung and ask for the price to replace the sim slot. I doubt it would be above $50. You don't have to be under a warranty to get a good repair.
I ordered the part and i will post results. I have replaced my charging port before so this shouldn't be harder.

Finally got and installed my new sim card and sd card tray and it did not improve my condition... It still randomly says the simply card is not there.... I'll try getting Samsung to fix.

A couple quick questions.
1) Why wasn't your phone covered by warranty? Did it suffer water damage or did you open it?
2) Have you searched online for a repair center? There a couple good one's out there that'll probably take a lot less time than samsung will.
3) Did you just replace the tray or the whole board it was attached to?
If I recall correctly (someone correct me if I'm wrong) if you send in the phone for repair instead of warranty they'll charge you an evaluation fee and could take up to a month to repair it. I had a similar incident with my old blackjack and they decided I was out of warranty and charged me a $50 "evaluation" fee. I told them to keep the phone and went out and bought a blackjack2.
But back on point. Check online, there have been a few good vendors and a couple recommended on XDA for repair, I just can't recall any of their names. I hope it goes well
Same issue

Did Samsung fix it or did you get the issue fixed?
I am having the same issue, I bought a new replacement SIM slot, did the replacement, worked for like a whole 2 minutes, then told me SIM card issue and to restart and hasn't seen the SIM card since. I've owned the phone for like a year and a 3 months, so I'm really doubting it's under warranty anymore (standard warranties are generally only a yr anyway) plus now that I've done the work to replace the card they may take ye ol "you've opened it, no warranty anymore." route.
I've put my SIM card back in an old iPhone 3G I still have & it gets recognized no problem. Wondering if it's a motherboard issue at this point. I'd go ahead and buy a Note II but I'm afraid as soon as I do they'll announce the Note III and that would just plain ol' SUCK!!!!
It can't hurt trying to see if you're still covered under warranty. Unless it's obvious it's been worked on.
Also a few people reported fixing SIM card errors by reverting back to stock with Odin. Then reflashing their favorite rom.
Try this. Worked for me

My Note developed the "No SIM" problem after upgrading to the new AT&T stock ROM 4.1.2. The first time this happened I took my Note in to an AT&T kiosk and picked up a new SIM. The next day the error happened again. I decided to do some research and find and fix the problem myself.
A lot of trial and error later the problem seems to have been solved. My device has been running just fine for three days now. Of course, it could just be coincidence... At any rate I DO NOT promise that this will work for you, but the steps I used are:
1) Do a full nandroid backup.
2) Do a Titanium backup of all aps.
3) Go to setting, -> More Settings, -> Mobile Networks, -> Access Point Names. Create a new APN and populate it like this:
Name- ATT Phone
APN- Phone
Proxy- Not set
Port - Not set
User Name- Not set
Password- Not set
Server- Not set
MMSC- http://mmsc.mobile.att.net
MMS Proxy- proxy.mobile.att.net
MMS Port- 80
MCC- 310
MNC- 410
Authentication type- None
APN type- default,admin,fota,mms,supl,hipri,internet
APN protocol- IPv4
Enable/disable APN- (check mark)
Bearer- Unspecified
Once that is done save and exit, then make the new APN the default.
4) Have a fully charged OEM battery handy.
5) Remove back, battery, & SIM card.
6) Clean SIM by wiping with a soft, lint-free cloth. May use a bit of acetone if necessary, but if you do make sure you get it ALL off. Wipe the battery contacts while you're there.
7) Reinsert the SIM and the fully charged battery.
8) Boot into Recovery and do a full wipe.
9) Reboot and wait a few minutes. Check that the "No SIM" error is gone!
10) Setup may be via Google Restore, Titanium Backup, some combination, or just a full reconfigure.
I worked for me, maybe it will for you, too. Thanks to RangerCaptain for a link to the APN settings..
Peace Out
Scratch the approach above. After two days I'm right back to the same "No SIM" error. I've ordered a replacement SIM port from eBay. I'll edit again after I see if that works. Sincerely apologize if I misled anyone in the meantime.
Hi, I don't know if my HTC One is bricked or not. I had this phone for around a week, when I was sending messages a screen popped up saying "Google Services background data restriction on." I didn't know what this was, but when I exited the messaging app my phone said something (Close I suppose) like this, ".com.htc.sense.app has unexpectedly stopped working" and it showed this 2 times, and the second time turned its self off. It was at a 71% charge when it turned off. Now the phone wont turn on or anything no LED Light when on the Charger nothing. I tried possible fixed but all failed. When I plug it into my PC it recognizes it as "Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 (COM3)." Does this mean my HTC One is bricked?
Plus, my phone is completely stock, Factory Reset it once this was before this happened. No Custom ROMS/Recovery nothing. Completely stock.
Please help
UPDATE: I had sent in my AT&T HTC One to HTC on Monday May 5th. The Phone got to HTC Yesterday, Wednesday May 7th, and was repaired Today, May 8th. I got an Email from HTC saying that my Device is on it's way. Talked to customer support, and they said that a total of 5 Items + the Mainboard were replaced in the repair of the device. So whatever I or the device did to it or itsself, it got really messed up. The VERY great news is that HTC ACTUALLY repaired it. I will Edit this post with a picture (Or Two) of the Box + Paper stated what repairs were made to the Device when I get it in 2-5 Days.
Only thing you can do is send it to HTC and see if it has a warranty still left on the device.
Also what version of android was on the device?
Also if the device is out of warranty I think you can get it JTAG thru some services online to get it back running. Do a Google search on JTAG to find out more info.

There is a 10 Year Warranty on the device, guess set by my Provider since I never payed for any warranty, but I am in a 2 year contract.
All I can remember is that I updated it to Android v4.4.2 KitKat a few days ago, but my my new phone I ordered (My sons) it has Android v4.4.3 KitKat which I think is weird. HTC Sense was v5 I think. But will HTC be able to repair it I mean what do they have to do? They gave me a very strict list of things that if found on the device will Void the Warranty and be sent back with no repair.
