First of all, are you able to tether your iPhone to other devices e.g a laptop? If so, yes you will be able to tether it via WiFi to your GTablet, rooted or not.

Hello
I just got an Atrix today on ATT. Before I bought it, I checked online to make sure that it supports the PAN profile - which it said it did.
The reason that I want this is so I can tether my IPad (non-jailbreak) to my Atrix using bluetooth.
I know that wireless exists, but I want something that will be easy on the batteries for my phone.
I have tried the older version of "Wireless Tether" but that keeps saying that my phone is in an unknown state when I try to turn on bluetooth tether.
I did root my phone - but nothing else. Can someone please help me get bluetooth PAN working on my phone so I can tether my ipad to it?
Thanks in advance

Bummer, same problem here. I'm attempting to connect to a "imwatch" and not finding a solution to turn on Bluetooth pan. It looks like everyone has moved on to newer devices. :crying:

When I turn on my portable wifi hotspot in my LG Optimus 4x HD, and connect my other android phone on it, it connects but it cannot browse. But when I turn on the hotspot app of my other android phone (with the same sim card i used in my 4X) and connect my Optimus 4x, it connects and can browse the net. What do you think is the problem of my p880 guys? Ive tried some tethering apps but the same result.
It'll be something like this:

Hi, I saw something about 3g galaxy tab and motorola xoom being able, by rooting, to phone features(calling like a normal phone).
My question is if our loved tablet s can be rooted to do that. I have a 3g sgpt112pt/s and he can send sms, and I'd like to have that feature too.
Can anyone tell me if that can be done?
Thanks in advance, and sorry for the crappy english
Hi Guys. I posted in the HTC One X (non +) and then noticed this separate forum. Sorry for the repeat.
My company just gave me an HTC One X+ from AT&T since I didnt want an iPhone. Seems like a good device but I did run into one snag.
My previous phone was a Galaxy S2 but was having major battery drain issues with Exchange Server so I thought I would try a different manufacture and keep my fingers crossed. The snag is this: with my SGS2 I was able to use FoxFi (and others) for WiFi tethering/hotspot and it worked great even bone-stock. With the HOX+ it seems At&t has gotten a little smarter and can detect when a program is trying to hotspot and I get taht message saying to call them if I want it enabled when I start FoxFi.
I have the paid version of clockworkmod and that will not work at all - says failed to connect when I hit start in Windows 7. I also have the paid version of PDAnet and that kind of works but the connection get dropped pretty regularly making it unreliable. Not sure if this has anything to do with Att's detections since they did gave me some trouble with the SGS2 as well (not exactly same though).
My question is this: can I get FoxFi to work WITHOUT root? Since it is brand new and not mine technically I hate to start hacking the thing up so quickly. But the tethering is a function I really like.
Thanks
Ernie
My phone is rooted, FoxFi and PDAnet didn't work..
I'm using this one :

I'm notl 100% sure but i dont think you'll be able to get what you want without being rooted. I'm surprised you had such good luck with the GS2 if it was on att and not rooted. Previous poster did suggest a great tool, been using it for years... But have to be rooted to do so
I don't believe you can actually get WiFi tethering on your phone without paying the extra amount from AT&T if you don't have your phone rooted. I have mine rooted and the hotspot feature works great!
Thanks guys. Thats what I figured. Guess I will have to just do it.
Ya, go figure about the S2. Guess I got lucky with that one.

I just got my HTC One x plus, and I am using PDAnet (free version), and I am able to tether via USB, with no issues. I have been able to do skype calls with no issues at all, browsing the web is fine as well. Tethering via wi-fi is the challenge, I have not been able to find anything that will allow me to do this. I use AT&T and my device is un-rooted.

PDANet works for me but seems to drop me at randomly. Not sure if it has to do with the ATT block.
So does Att have the ability to detect teathering - rooted or unrooted?

with wi-fi and un-rooted, it seems they detect, with USB un-rooted they don't, at least, this is what happens on my end.
my g5 is crap, my wifes gs6 is crap, my daughters samsung tablet is crap BUT the iphone tether works tethering to my fish finders.
how the hell ????????
is there an app or something i can do to get my lg g5 to tether my fish finders so i can download maps and stuff without having to pull cards, swap around......
Have you checked to see that the fish finder supports Android devices? I've run into devices in the past that only support iPhones.
i put foxfi on the lg g5 and it works with that, so i guess im ok now.
i didnt have this problem with my old att mega (1) which was an antique version of android
