My girlfriend has a Motorola Atrix 4G.
she'd had it for a few months and is overall happy.
I rooted her using "super one click"
anyway. she's been playing angry birds for the past 2 days straight. she played a little this morning, and left. then texted me "WHY DID YOU UNINSTALL ANGRY BIRDS ON MY PHONE"(she had 3 stars on every level). To prove to her that I did not, I am asking if any other atrix users have had applications mysteriously go missing in the blink of an eye.
it's not in the programs list, just vanished apparently.
Angry Birds actually disappeared from my applications list also.
I looked for it using the search function and it reappeared...
Not sure what happened.
Make sure the SD card is firmly seated. Angry birds gets installed to the SD and sometimes it can get dislodged

or if the phone is plugged in via usb and is not mounted to the system
My angry birds seasons that i got from the Amazon store has disapeared twice. I restore it from TiBU. Its the only app i have that does that afaik.
Happened to me with Paradise Island (I know ) and another app, just disappeared. I just reinstalled the apps and my data was still there, so nothing was lost.
PS: Trying to remeber, I believe I plugged the usb cable into my computer while playing with mass storage enabled. The Umount of the file system may have been the issue.

I'll root her without superoneclick! Also, you did fu*k up. If she's been playing a game for 2 days straight, you are either gay or just plain not worth it to her!

This happened to me too! I wish I would've noticed it sooner because I really don't know when it did. Probably had something to do with rooting and installing GingerBlur though
yes its happened to me a few time. But most of the time I could simply use tiBU to restore the app so its all good.

I have a Samsung Vibrant. I had installed Assassins Creed, NOVA, Geocaching app, did the GPS fix from the secret screen. This is all pretty much stock stuff, I've only had the phone a month. This morning I woke up and it said "THERES AN UPDATE TO YOUR PHONE". I was like ****ING A RIGHT THERE IS. So I clicked next and took a shower.
Phone is stuck at the VIBRANT - SAMSUNG Screen. Since I had been in the bathroom about half an hour for the three Ss, I know it had half an hour to get this right. Rebooting the phone gives me the happy crappy jingle (yeah, still stock jingles) and then the phone hangs. Accessing the (stock) system restore screen and clearing both user and cached data did nothing, so I grabbed my kid and went to the Tmobile store. People tend to be more helpful when you're annoying them with babies.
They did the same thing, then they got on their super secret tech support line. The guy did a lot of Mmmhmming and reset the phone a few times and said it was dead. Then he handed the phone to me. They asked if I overclocked the phone with voodoo (something or other). No. They asked if I had task-killers installed (Advanced Task Killer) and if it was set to kill anything automatically. I said no. They asked me what I had installed since I got the phone. I'm not a poweruser here, I hadn't really had the time to dig into it nor the inclination figuring the update was in the pipe, so I gave them a list. I asked if they could see what was installed, she said they could not, hence the questions.
At this point they offered to ship me a new device, and lent me a new phone. The shipping, unlike other laments on the forums, is free IF you don't take their offer to upgrade.
I got off the phone with them and let my kid eat the displays for a bit - apparently I'm *phone number four* they've had come in today to be sent back. Tmobile knows they have an issue and they are replacing the phones for free so long as you're not that far off the reservation. Now, I'm guessing there's not four people who read these forums and mess around with their phones out here in the sticks, so even the stock phones are getting killed here. If it kills my wifes phone (and she is absolutely stock, GPS crap and all) then I'll know there seriously is a problem. The technician advised me not to update the phone until further notice, I'm inclined just to be a PITA and keep doing it as motivation to at very least pull the update.
Damn that is awful. I was under the impression only rooted phones with laxfixes and/or different kernels were screwing up the update. I wonder if someone, somewhere, is getting fired over this fiasco LOL. Four phones replaced in one day.....

Just to be fair to tmobile, it was rooted. I had titanium backup on there to uninstall the meego stuff, the in flight internet stuff, the sims 3 (170MB if I recall correctly), AVATAR but the goal was to uninstall the stuff that was clearly advertising and such. It wasn't taken to the level of having TEH NEXUS WON or a "Stock ROM".

Yep I just got back from TMO store. Mine was bricked PERIOD. "would not power up" Mine should be here Weds. I paid the $10 for express Ship and they gave me a loner.
something strang happend yesterday! i wanted to meet a friend and update her phone as she was running miniCM6 RC2 so i put the update on my sd card and went to meet her. so then i stuck my sd card in her phone and updated and everything worked fine. BUT THEN...... all her apps and launcher were gone and she got really mad!!! then i noticed that it was all on my phone and i was like WTF so i did a restore of a backup that i did shortly before i started. and everything is fine on her phone. BUT not on mine..... did a restore and a factory reset but her apps and launcher are STILL on my SD card
and then i woke up this morning and PANG i knew why...... i forgot that i have an ext partition and all the apps and stuff went there LOL
so i learned my lesson!!!
just wanted to share that!!

Wow
Something strange happened to me too yesterday!
I was just walking along, minding my own business, and the suddernly I got an idea. I think its safe to say ideas doesnt always come easy, at least not for me. Anyway... I got an idea to uninstall an app I felt like I didnt wanted anymore. I uninstalled the caller-app. And whattoyouknow suddernly I couldnt make any calls anymore.
I could not understand what was wrong for hours, when it struck me! Maybe I shouldnt have uninstalled the caller-app!!
Luckily I am a real tech-wiz so I called the internet from my imaginary phone and spelled some http commands using tcp/ip language with some binary code spelled in morse. The internet told me to restore the app using tit.backup. Since I got no tits on my back, as far as I know, I put on my googles perform a more comprehensive search. And then, suddernly, out of the cloud the app came dropping in the shape of a troyan horse. I thought it was a bit phishy, but the wall of fire in front of me made me certain I was sane as a brick.
I was like: Yahoo! when I could make calls again
Just wanted to share my Xperience
Pun intended but no offence meant.

I found a similar post, but it was refering to a Tablet device and I am having this issue on my Samsung Galaxy S2,
Recently, I have lost some apps. So far about 4 in total. I would use it, then the next time I go to use it,a day later, or a few hours, it appears ghosted out and if I touch it, it would say, "you do not have this app installed". I didn't move it to my memory card either. I would have to re-download it again, and my files are still there after the re-install.
Does any one else have this issue?
Does any one know why this is happening?
Some Examples of apps are: Google Wallet, Angry Birds RIO and I can't remember the others..

Everything is Stock...I haven't Rooted or done anything to the phone yet. I only got it almost 2 weeks ago...or so. When it came out Oct. 12th....
I apologize if this has already been discussed. I searched and couldn't fine anything about it. I like to try out different rom's and can usually backup anything with titanium backup and restore it the way it is when I back it up. But I cannot do this with the game Zombie Lane. I lose all my progress. Even when doing a restore app and data with titanium backup. Does anyone know a way to back this up without losing progress? Maybe a file somewhere that holds all this info? Thanks,
That is odd because the times I have backed up/restored Zombie Lane in tibu it has worked. Have you tried a hot restore, as in you play it for a while, make a backup, play it some more, and see if the game returned to the previous progress? If that has no effect then maybe they are using server side saves. But it always seemed like mine came back.
Pro tip #1: GameCIH works very well for this game, just do not set really high values or you'll get a data corruption error on next restart.

Thanks alot for the tips. Don't know why it hasn't worked for me then. Everything has always been fine, even going back to the Evo 4g. Have not tried the hot restore so will do. Have just started reading on the GameCIH so will probably give it a shot tomorrow. Thanks again.
Ld dragons will not restore.. Its odd because it's the only thing that have ever not restored... So I feel your pain.

not joking. i am pretty sure it was preloaded. i went to the app store and it said installed, i chose not to restore backups from my google account. it didn't restore any other apps.
First thing I did was install all my personal apps, then debloated VZW junk.
One thing I always like to do with new phones is go through all of the preloaded ringtones and notification sounds. Some of them are so hilariously bad I'm actually tempted to use them.
First thing I did was enable ART in developer settings. I recommend you all do the same!
The first thing was root. By far the most important aspect for me.
Secondly, fought with my bloody MicroSD card. Had about 30GB of music, 20GB of ePSXe/PPSSPP games, a couple of thousand pictures (including recent ultrasound shots of my unborn child), and a full Titanium Backup folder from my S4. Removed said card from S4, even went so far as to unmount it from the storage menu. Popped it into my G3 and got the dreaded "Blank SD card" message. Tried slotting it into the S4 again. Same thing. Went back between the two devices and the card reader on my laptop for about fifteen minutes before giving up. Delved into forums for another thirty, no real luck besides finding out that the S4 seems to have a lot of issues with SanDisk's 64GB MicroSDXC card for some reason.
After much lamenting...formatted the thing, ran another backup of Titanium, finally got what I needed over to the G3. Cussed for another thirty minutes or so, smoked a few cigs, then got back to it. Froze a long list of bloatware/services I won't use. Installed Xposed and the G3 TweaksBox.
And now, nothing. It's more or less ready for me to swing by Verizon tomorrow and have them transfer it over to my line and reactivate my mother's dumb phone. Because well...As much as I am liking the G3, I wasn't about to give up unlimited data for it. Here's hoping someone can unlock the bootloader or find a loki workaround for the device!

Truthfully, not a whole let yet. This was my first chance to try ART as I'd heard from other device threads that it can improve overall performance and bring a slight boost to battery life. I definitely did notice there was little to no lag in certain apps compared to when I was running dalvik. Although, my G3 has shut off on it's own multiple times today and I only received it this morning so I'm more concerned about getting it stable

Don't jump the gun. Many people reporting bluetooth audio stuttering with screen off, wake locks, and random restarts with ART enabled.
i hope they make xposed compatible with ART soon

I feel your pain!!! My Samsung 64gb MicroSD also took a dump, when I removed it from my GS3. Went through the fuster-cluck as you, taking a fresh TB snapshot and everything. Thank goodness for FolderSync, which I use to back up my photos to the cloud, else I'd have been SERIOUSLY PISSED!

I should have held off. I did two factory resets followed by enabling ART each time and it froze on deep sleep each time. A 3rd factory reset and switching backed to Dalvik fixed my issues.

This. I rooted, titanium backup, removed bloat, installed my stuff, and swapped to ART. Just this morning I had 3 full freezes in a deep sleep that required battery pulls.
I just swapped back to Dalvik. At least I can use xposed. I have not done a factory reset. Going to hold off on that until it happens again.
I recommend others to not jump the gun as well. No, I only installed about 7 apps that are all stable. Avoiding anything truly custom for another week to make sure all is well with the device.
I hope this is emphasized enough by now. Please do NOT switch to ART on the Verizon G3. Many people had random freeze/power off problem with ART. Simply switch back to Dalvik fixed the problem.
The difference is night and day. On ART the phone stutters and gets really hot. I almost decided to return it before I realized all problem started after switching to ART. On Dalvik it's behaving more or less like a flagship is supposed to.
