[GUIDE] How to improve mozart reception - 7 Mozart General

Hi all
I've bought used Mozart about 2 months ago and I'm very impressed with its performance. Unfortunately one month ago Mozart started to have poor reception problems - it showed 1 or 0 Edge bars where it had 3G signal earlier.
I tried to google that problem but found only threads where people were comlaining about Mozart reception problem, so I've decided to solve it myself.
It is noticeable that when you take off battery cover reception is falling down. That made me to think that cover is part of GSM antena - and it has two pins covered with kind of copper (or whatever) tape.
I placed 2 thin copper wires on corresponding pins on Mozart PCB, and took cover in place.. Reception grown from 0-1 to 5 bars
Hope that will help someone.

That's something wonderful but I couldn't understand the last line. May be not as technical as you but can you please explain a little, a picture if possible

I tried to explain it in attachment

some pictures would help me too as I face the same problem.. 2 weeks ago signal reception was excellent and now its medium or even poor sometimes..

Hi carmello1911
Dont mean to change subjest or hijack thread, but are you on O2UK with a Mozart ?
If so have you managed to debrand it to a HTC Europe rom ?
I have been trying for ages, but cannot find either a HTC Europe rom which will not give 'invalid vender id', or an O2UK rom from Ansar to help push HTC Europe rom on ?
HAve you managed to debrand yours, and if so how ??

Thansk and looks easy. what I understood that take two small pieces of copper wire and just paced at the position you shown in the pic and close the back cover. the copper terminals on the back cover will then make contact with the wires in placed and kind of enhance the signal strengh. i will try myself and hope no harm done as my handset is still under warranty by orange

I am on o2 UK network but I own an orange branded mozart! no debrand attempted (can't see the reason to do it).. Sorry I can't help you mate..

but you did
@ZeeShh - exactly. Im thinkin now about buying new cover, maybe its contacts are improved. I don't think you loose warranty but if copper wires get deeper inside they can make short somewhere.

Although i sometimes see few bars on the signal i never had any problem with bad reception or bad quality calls.
It's not good to tamper with the antenna signal because it could mess with the power and potentially cause health issues... Its not good to mess with your brain

Sorry about the thread revivial, but I would just like to confirm how you keep the cables in place? How long are they etc?
Could we maybe get a picture of the phone with the cover removed and the wires in place?
Thanks

I would really like to see a picture of a working modification too
(Placing something conductive there might short out the whole phone, if done incorrectly...)
Thanks

I would also like to see picture.........please!

I need service manual to fix water damaged mic, please

My phone committed suicide in the toilet (never put it near it, someone called me and it moved with the vibration and fell) . I was able to dry it, but there is a pink dot indicating this water damage, so I guess my guarantee is broken Everything seems to work well, except that people can't hear me when calling.
There are 2 mics on this phone, so I guess it is the main one under the buttons that got damaged. I can still use voice recognition apps like Google translator, but I guess that uses the second mic.
I have seen a piece for this phone in eBay that is the 3 buttons part, and I think this part includes the mic, so maybe I'm lucky and I can repair it, all I need is the service manual or some guide with pics, and advice to be sure about it.

Thanks a lot! But those docs didn't solve my doubt, some time ago I think I saw some other pdf with much more details and pics about the parts, but I can't find it.
I'm still wondering how to fix the mic. I'll get a picture of the 3 buttons part where I suppose the mic is. Maybe you can advice me
I found this part in ebay, do you think this will include the mic?
I searched mt15 keypad

I just searched "mt15 keypad" or "xperia neo keypad" and selected origin from all countries. I found this piece cheaper in my town, so I hope I can get it there. I just need some advice to know if I should replace that piece, those manuals that taaviu linked don't explain very clearly
Hi, just wondering where is the Water damage indicator on xperia neo v

Look and find red or pink colored papers in your phone.
One is right in back side battery.
If they are white, then all ok.
If red or pink..then your phone have some water damage.

Hello devrruti,
I've a similar problem on my neo and I was wondering if you managed to fix the mic problem and/or got the appropriate service manuals?
Problem description: Phone went in washing machine and now people can't hear me on a call. However, when I put the phone on 'speaker' mode then I can be heard! (Perhaps that's related to the presence of the two mics).
Thanks!
Same Problem with my phone too...

I finally bought it on a local store, I was about to fix it, it just requires patience and take a look at the pdf our videos about disassembling it. It is a tricky part to fix.
But my phone got stolen, so for the greedy person that didn't want to return it to me, it won't be very useful
I never got to try this solution. I still have this part, maybe if sending it is cheap I can sell it to you. If you are a bit skilled you could fix it yourself.

Galaxy S2 Backs, also 5 minute root with no pc!

Hi All.
First off, a MASSIVE mention to Rachmat3 for his fantastic work on rooting the GS2 ICS with no PC or flashing required http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1501719
Tested on Three UK official ICS, worked first time, in 3 minutes flat, all from my phone.
ANYWAY! back to the question in hand.
Does anyone have any good links / sites regarding Back plates for the GS2?
I don't mean cases, I mean the actual clip on battery covers, so fair I have only been able to locate the standard black / white ones, or a brushed aluminium one.
Are there any sites that supply a large variety of these?
NB: I have been searching XDA for 2 weeks for this info, and only found the aforementioned!
Thanks again!
You should probably look under the accesories section.

If u also search for a bit new form and not only style, then search for the 2000mh battery, it has a special back plate for it, so that the form is straight in hight of loudspeaker.
Maybe u r searching for something like this?!

[Q] Signal Problems. Caused by hardware problem?

Dear Forum members,
I know this is a very common problem/ question. But looking through the forum I was not able to sovle this problem myself.
So the problem is I have no reception neither in my flat nor at work. This makes my phone kind of useless.
I recently tried out several modems but could not achieve anything with that.
My gf has a I9100 as well with the same provider (O2, Germany). She has pretty good signal quality in our flat while my cell has none (even with exact same baseband phones next to each other).
So I can only guess that it is a hardware issue. What do you think?
Btw, outdoors of our building I have 100% signal H+ (I'm living kind of in the middle of Berlin).
Your help is very appreciated here. Cheers,
lennart
I have a I9100 with
CM 10.1
Build numer 20130112
Kernel 3.0.15-CM-gddc9ba7

Then, It's moving time!
Seriously, this issue started when? It's just weird that you don't get any signal indoors, but your girl, with the same device as you, does.
If warranty isn't voided...I'd pay the store a visit.
Could there be a problem with the antenna? Would be worth the try to buy a new one?

Is your warranty voided? How long has it been since you got any signal at your place/work?
Did you change some part recently, like speaker/usb flex? Did you try to use the external antenna?
Don't even dream of messing with the antenna unless you're absolutely certain your warranty is no good (damage to the phone caused by normal use/misuse or warranty period expired).
If your warranty is good, use it.

Okay, full story: I bought the phone used 2 weeks ago from some guy. I tested it with him outside. Worked great Took it home and recognized that signal quality is bad. No warrenty at all. And I found that 1 of the 7 screws was missing. So I'm not the first who opened it I guess.
Maybe something was exchanged but I don't know. Think it would be of any good to exchange speaker/usb flex?
New ones are below 10€ so I could give it a try.
Thanks for your replies!

My girlfriend Galaxy s2 is having a lot of problems

Hey Guys,
My girlfriend is having alot of problems with her phone lately.
It was turned off occusionaly during the day.
I've replaced the rom on her device and though it would fix it.
I bought the akku polarcell 1800mah for her because I had good experience
on the past with polarcell battery for my previous galaxy s1.
Guys I don't really know what to do and my girlfriend is counting on me to fix this ..
I told her to put some papar near the battery to have it better grip with the electricity circuit.
Maybe there is a Corrosion- how to fix this?
Guys,
Please let me know your input on this and how to solve this.
Looking forward for any input- thanks in advance.
All the best!
thanks you guys
Be nice and get her a new phone. Keep the S2 for your ownself. Problem solved!
You can't really fix corrosion, because it tends to spread slowly throughout the device over time. It depends on what's damaged, if you're lucky it might only be the USB board which is cheap to replace, if it's components on the motherboard then replacing that is more expensive, if it's through the whole phone it might even be a bin job because it's probably going to continue to get worse over time.
Only way to know for sure is to take it to someone qualified (I.E a mobile repair shop) & have them take a look.
Edit - Or...You could replace the USB board yourself & see how that goes. It's easy/quick/cheap (~US$10) to do yourself, search for KeithRoss39's guide in General (search for 'replacing USB charger board' or similar), and if you're lucky this solves the problem. If it doesn't, then you take it someone qualified for diagnosis (and in changing the USB board, as you're pulling the phone apart, you'll be able to see if/how much corrosion is there).
Thanks for the quick replies.
The issue is we don't want to invest money in this and would rather staying with the phone as it is if needed.
How can I make it better?
Any Idea?
Did you even read my post ?
You can't. It's obviously something hardware-wise going on. You can either take that advice & possibly fix the phone, or put up with it in its current state. There isn't anything 'easy' you can do.
