I had a Samsung Wave II (S8530) with a 1GHz processor, can't remember what processor it had though, but that Phone has the best Video capabilities I have ever seen. Wife took a video from the back of assembly hall and you could hear the principle talking to someone without the microphone over the noise of the pupils while you can also see his untied shoe laces. To bad that phone has a crappy OS...
I might be mistaking, but I read somewhere that Gingerbread (2.3.4 I think) increased the resolution of movies in Ace. Is that true? Obviously not to HD quality but higher than the current value?
Thats true: from 320x240 to 640x480.
that is DVD quality. still not good enough.

Then you should sell your ace and spend a lot of money on a high end phone.
Now its like you buy a mid range car and complain about it not being able to drive as fast and comfortable as a porsche.

why buy high end mobile when we can buy motorola defy overclocked at 1.2ghz and 720p hd recording with cyanogenmod and miui ports and defy also is water resistant, dust proof, and resolution is 480x854. screen size is 3.7inch. and it has got ambient light sensor. flash in browser is also supported coz of ARMv8 processor.
price of defy is almost same as ace

You guys know that there are high-end phones for a low price?
eg. the Xiaomi phone that runs MIUI, quadrant as high as S2(unmodded). But we all know quadrant isnt something you should rely on.
e.g.
same price range Sony Mini / Mini Pro mid range phone has HD 720p video.
http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/corporate/products/phoneportfolio/specification/xperia-mini
price lower then ACE.
I think it would be possible if we change the camera apk of SGA,
with a camera apk that has HD recording like that of SGS2,Defy,Xeperia mini pro ..etc

Why the g2x had SO MUCH better benchmark scores now before anyone says I'm *****ing know that I'm not I'm just asking why 2 phones with the same processors have such diff scores the photon NEVER goes over 60 fps in quadrant but the g2x gets like 100+ and out had 1080p video recording like wtf was motorola thinking sprints best motorola phone is average now a data now I'm just asking why cause that's really annoying but honestly this is just a question not *****ing again
Sent from my MB855 using xda premium
because moto blur takes up more processing power ALSO the the photon has a 1ghz dual core and teh e4gt has a 1.2 ghz dual core. same ram i believe... but honestly until internet speeds are crazy increaded and battery life is maximized idc they all run around the same speed imo.
I think the G2X uses a different cpu/gpu.

I think it's software Optimization.
Its almost the same spec, and maybe our photon dont use its full power to conserve battery? Like shut down one core or something?
another viewpoint its the drivers.

Motorola has qHD resolution, so the gpu has to push 25% more pixels.

One of the things that throws of the result is the nonstandard resolution of the Photon. This odd screen size requires scaling be used to run most benchmarks full screen. On an unscaled Smartbench run the scores are much higher than scaled and are fairly close to the GSII NVidia.

There are three different CPU's used in the GSII (NVidia, Samsung, Qualcomm). The benchmarks vary with the Qualcomm being the bottom of the list.

Put them side by side and you'll see that while the iPhone wins for resolution and clarity, the SGS2 far exceeds it with contrast and colors.

I use LCD Resolution app. Tw launcher isn't compatible but launcher pro and go launcher works great!

Samsung phones are highly proprietary and don't respond well to changes. Even using a non OEM battery can cause problems in some cases. What don't you like about the display? I think its pretty nice.

The wildfire doesn't have a GPU, which means no 3D games (or any intensive games for that matter).
It's due to lack of a GPU in the Wildfire. I think I have told you this several times, but you still don't seem to get it. And you are in "serious problemsss" because you can't get a damn game to work on a low end phone? Grow up please.

Ask the blogpost owner in that case. My views are already out. CPU OC'ing cannot compensate for the lack of a GPU. (EVER - This is true for the GS2 as well. Use CPU for decoding video, and your battery will run flat in 30 minutes)

One of these would be better.

well you all say S2 but why? is it real better for gaming? Because it's 1.2 GHz and SXS is at 1.5 GHz and i read that Adrenno 220 GPU is twice faster than Mali-400. But thats only what i read, that's why i'm asking.

Adreno 220 is nowhere near the Mali-400MP.
I have a Galaxy S2 and my brother is using a HTC One S(Asia version, same chipset as SXS)
I have played Asphalt 7, The Dark Knight Rises, NFS Most wanted and many other High graphics Games.
They don't lag even a bit on SGS2 but sometyms they do lag a bit(lyk a stutter) on bro's One S, even though he is using Custom ROm on it.
AND
you can overclock S2 upto 1.6Ghz if you want and you get a processor that can handle it(every processor is different)
And lookout that you dont buy the I9100G model. It's chipset is much slower than original I9100 :highfive:
Gud luck :good:
