Why is it that the Bell Atrix has no themes?
If I flash one of the themes here that is available, isn't it true that it'll probably break my bell atrix?
If so, it is that much extra work to make the theme portable to Bell Atrix?
If not so, how can I get these themes onto my Bell Atrix (if i'm already deodexed).
Thanks!
Mag
There are themes you just have to dig for them. DO NOT FLASH THE OTHER THEMES HERE unless you know how to recover because it will not work. They are built off of the att framework.
If you want to use these themes flash the french sbf then gingerblur then a theme.

What about following this method?

I am now rooted, deodexed, running GreyBlur and have the recovery console as well...
p.s. What is this chilled (or chillin) business... I can't seem to find the refference, is it a theme?
Thanks In advance!
Im not sure which one but I believe they are refering to the cool blue theme or they have the bloatware frozen with titanium backup when they say chillen and what not.

Wrong place to post this. This belongs in Q&A section....
Again should be in Q&A.
This is for ATT but you can get a general idea. If you download a 3rd party launcher and correctly freeze motoblur you can get what you are looking for.

What I was really hoping for is a striped down ROM instead of freezing the features.

At the moment the freezing method is the only option for the Bell Atrix.
Here's a link to Bell specific things you can safely freeze http://canadroid.com/2011/03/20/removing-moto-blur-from-your-bell-motorola-atrix/
Moved as not android development
Thats what I was looking at unfortunately everyone who had tried had bricked the phone.
is anyone aware if freezing these apps gets the email client back to regular android?
If you brick it you can ever reflash a stock SBF simply rebooting it in BL Mode (RSD Downloader), using your PC, a brain, an usb cable and RSD Lite...
...and an Atrix SBF, of course.

Except that we don't have a Bell SBF at the moment
it's pretty funny people telling him to read/flash gingerblur or use a stock .sbf
too bad almost none of the developments made so far regarding bloat apply to bell
freezing manually is really a bell user's only option ATM.
I have manually gone through and frozen most of the bell preloaded stuff but the big thing I want off is the Motorola email client and back up services.

No 3rd party. I am using the Gmail app. I did however also test the Corporate Sync and it still worked fine.
So I froze the email 2.2 application and when I open any of my email accounts it just closes and takes me back to the home screen.
Have any bell Atrix owners been successful at installing gingerblur?
I have been googling the hell out of this, and it looks like a Big ol' no...
I'd really love to whip up a Bell version, but I'm hesitating due to the lack of an SBF file for Bell devices. If my ROM messes up your phone... you'd be screwed without an SBF!
Any way to restore via the cwm? Not sure how that works..

A custom Bell Atrix Rom would need to be cooked.
If someone gets around to doing this... please fix the HSUPA issue and the microphone driver issue... I would love to be able to use Skype on my phone which I have not been able to do since getting my Atrix. AT&T fixed this last month thanks to firmware updates.

If you flash the french u4_2.1.1 sbf first, you should be able to flash Gingerblur.
I know u could flash Greyblur (and I did) over the french 2.1.1 sbf, so Gingerblur should also work.
Once on it will swap your framework to the AT&T version and then you will no longer have compatability issues with any rom or theme on here, AFAIK.
I haven't flashed Gingerblur myself but I flashed Greyblur and then a theme and it's working beautifully on my Bell Atrix.
There is a thread here on flashing/rooting/deodexing/theming the french 2.1.1 sbf, you should check it out.

I think you may have to flash the stock french 2.1.1 and then flash Gingerblur.
I remember reading somewhere that flashing one p-rom over another can cause issues.
Did you do a factory restore/wipe after flashing Gingerblur?
I haven't flashed Gingerblur because of all the issues people are reporting in the thread and I have had zero issues with Greyblur so I am still running it, albeit the themes I have flashed have updated the framework to Gladiatrix.
I know Greyblur is based on 1.5.7 but all the themes out now use the framework from 1.8.3 so it still gets updated.

What's strange is that I had previously flashed gingerblur 3.5 over greyblur 2.1 with no issues. I did do a factory reset after I installed gingerblur 4, but not before. I was more curious than anything. After reading the changelog it doesn't appear like much has been added, and especially nothing that I couldn't live without. On a sidenote, have you experienced difficulty getting your facebook contact pictures to sync into your contacts? It seems like whenever I try about 60% or so sync and the rest don't. Just wondering if you've had similar issues with your greyblur.

I have custom contact pics for most of my contacts, but I DON'T use Facebook pics for it, so I have never tried syncing them. In fact, that is the first thing I disabled when I installed the FB app.
As for Greyblur, I haven't had an issue since I flashed it, and that was about a month ago.
It's no longer Greyblur really though. I have flashed a few themes which have since replaced the framework with Gladiatrix versions, so it's only MOSTLY Greyblur now, lol.

I was wondering if any of the current theme gods here can update this theme with newer framework etc, or at least use the notification bar icons (wifi, network, etc) in another theme. I really like the look of it, but its an older theme that is long buried.

IT would yes, but it would be better to be updated to 1.8.3. Although, that being said, being I don't have an ATT version, I don't even know what 1.8.3 updated, maybe it didn't touch the framework at all.

If you flash greyblur first like I did, then any theme should work. It will swap you to the ATT framework which all the themes are based off of.
I was on the stock french sbf and I just deodexed it and flashed greyblur (which I recommend anyways, its soooooo fast), then started playing with themes.

So im useing darkside 4.4 and I want to use webtop I've been trying to find a way to add webtop to the rom and from what I can tell its possible to do something called a fruit cake but the only one I could find is for at&t were I have a international ATRIX not sure what fruitcake to use or if their is even a fruitcake that will add webtop for international ATRIX
(I'm assuming you're on gingerbread?)
In the fruitcakes thread, there is a link for 2.3.4 (webtop only) that doesn't specifically say AT&T, so my guess is that it should work for you. I haven't flashed any of these fruitcakes, however. Anyone with more experience care to chime in?

i just flashed the 2.3.6 webtop fruitcake about three days ago and honestly it was pretty simple.
I will post links for you in a few.
However since your on international fo to the fruitcake thread and check there what webtop youre going to need okay u dont want to get the wrong one so read up but the link i left up there is a guide on how to install it.laters

As far as i know, it's rom specific. Only problem is the result of your efforts is a flashable zip compatible with CWM. So you'll need to be unlocked and rooted. But you'll still be able to stay on stock rom and make these changes so it won't affect the way your phone works in any way except of course, lack of 4gees. But honestly if youre gonna go that far might as well just install custom roms. So ya know, it's a decision youll have to make.

your best method is use the UOT Kitchen http://uot.dakra.lt/ you make the mods you want for your phone and upload the files it tells you. It does the work for you then you reinstall them.
Its not simple but then its not real complicated either just make backups of whatever you do

Nah, cause you are replacing vital files. Normally you would, say, delete systemui.apk and replace it with the modified version with a file manager. Deleting systemui will crash the phone. That's why it must be changed either by throwing the modified files into the rom zip before flashing. Or by flashing the theme zip after rom installation.

Ninjamorph will let you extract the framework-res and SystemUI right on your phone. Problem is putting back the SystemUI via Ninjamorph will cause a bootloop. There may be a workaround for this but I never spent any time trying to figure it out. The app used to work great on the ogEVO but that was a lot easier to theme than the Photon in my opinion.
