I'm new to the idea of changing mine I understand it to be the drivers but am I going to gain anything by switching to 351 from 318¿ Battery life?signal strength? any help would be appreciated thanks so much

Also I been reading about perfmod what are the effects of this and what do I gain

The modified 318 baseband is especially for StreakDroid, but lots of people have flashed the latest basebands, and I for one see that with the 354 baseband that I'm using that my WiFi signal is more stable, not stronger, just more stable.
The perfmod allows the kernel to be overclocked, well it overclocks it, and allows you to set it even higher with SetCPU.
You can find much more detail on this but you really need to do a search, there was no need in starting a new thread for such a basic question

Can and should I overclock while running kaos froyo? My usual overclock widget doesn't seem to work. Just curios, it's a little laggy already I don't want to put to much more unless it will help because I really am quite fond of this rom.

All the froyo roms come overclocked to 710 already if i'm not mistaking. If overclock widget isn't working for you then you could try setCPU to bump it up even higher. Enabling JIT might help to if you havent already done so.
I remember seeing some performance tweaks somewhere to speed up/improve responsiveness of the DJ Steves 2.2 builds. I have looked but cannot find what thread I saw them in. Anyone can point me in the right direction?
Also, what app is everyone using to benchmark with?
Thanks
I think the two words you're looking for are "Fards" and "Quadrant". I think our chef has already cooked on the tweaks.

hi guys wondering did trip include jit to his rom 1.0.63. Just wondering because i got very low benchmarking results when i ran the app QUADRANT
By the way I just installed the custom kernal straight after i flashed my baseband to .52 so it might be the problem to the low benchmarking results. I dont know??
Apart from that the custom kernal is soo awesome, it feels fast like the iphone and i highly recommend it to those who hasnt tried it and dont want to risk it but ive had no problems with it, the signal works, wifi EVERYTHING.
Anyway please reply if I'm wrong with the Jit and if it is already included, then maybe its just something im doing to make such low benchmarking results.
What are your benchmark scores?

Sorry my mistake, the low benchmark results were only on the first go. I tried couple more times and yeah its all good. So I guess the threads closed now.
p.s if you really want to know the first benchmark results they were just above 1000 which with the custom kernal i expected around 1350 which i got on the second and third go.
Cannot believe the speed of the custom kernal. Its like magic
That rom is froyo isnt it ? Al froyo/gingerbread roms have JIT included.
Looking at a Droid Eris to use as a backup device and I was just wondering what the benchmarking looked like with the cyanogen 7 ports. I looked around but it doesn't look like anyone has done that yet.
Could someone who has that setup just run that and let me know?
It really depends on how you configure it: JIT, compcache, dalvik, etc etc.
A stock Eris (2.1 & Sense UI) gets about 200.
With my settings, I get anywhere from 350-400.
Quadrant Standard is not always indicative of day-to-day use, though.
If you have a stable ROM, the phone should be pretty snappy; with the right settings, it can compete with 1 GHz phones.
I'm pulling 1556 on a stock non rooted fascinate.

My Scores are in a slightly lower range. Im seeing from 335-380 running NonsensikalFroyo. Im sure it can do better but its just been so darn stable I have no reason to mess with it.

Same on my CM7 Nook Color overclocked only to 925.
Interestingly my new stock Galaxy Nexus only scored a 1658
Well, I'm using GSB v4.4(cyanogen based); getting 380 to 400 on it stock(not having modified nothing). Also, don't expect 'Quadrant Standard' to be reliable, when a phone is fast it's fast. Hope this helped
Rooted voodooed overclocked I got my Fascinate to 3000

Without overclock I can get 2000

Question.
Out of all of the custom roms can anyone tell me, which rom provides the overall best useage for the average streak owner.
Currently ive tried a few and gs244 seems to be leading the way.
But any comments would be appreciated.
I have tried gss 2.4.4 and dsc 0.62b, I found both equally power effecient. Dsc has more stability. No fcs or random reboots

Definitely power rom lite...as of now I'm using v1 and v3 installed on top and I'm getting 28 hours no fcs or reboots, ~2800 on quadrant with no tweaks. I strongly support this rom and push everyone I know with a streak to use it.
