is xrecover a one time install thing?
I installed xrecover and installed the generic rom.
when i boot the phone i can still get into xrecover.
do I still need install xrecovery (putting in the 3 files) and the update.zip after a new flash?
or once i have xrecovery, i have it forever?

no you'll need to copy the 3 files after each flash!
i dont know what update.zip you mean coz to install xrecovery you only have to copy the 3 files

update.zip was part of flashing rom. i thought it was part of xrecovery.

Read the details of the update. Zip. If it said that it include xrecovery, then you don't need to copy those 3 files again

When ever i try to install arc rom or Bitsnacker.Honeycombarc.
It says:

I don't know what thats means.
I have fixed that problem,but i like to know that i have install one rom like Eclair Bitsnacker.com v2.6,How can i install arc rom do i have to flash my x10 again or i can just install it via xrecovery.
Google amend to edify converter, remember seeing it somewhere in android.modaco.com
Xrecovery 1.0 does not support amend scripting which was used to pack the Roms
Either use the converter or use the previous xrecovery

Hey, sry for intruding to this thread, but i got same problem. I installed xrecovery 1.0 on my freex10b4 and i cant install my favoured theme or anything now through xrecovery.
Is there any way to downgrade xrecovery back to 0.3 without breaking my system and how should i do this? Any help is really welcomed.
And i tried to convert my theme zip file with MoDaCo converter, doesnt give me error message, but doesnt apply theme too.
When im at Xrecovery and got rom files in my sdcard and trying to install it, yes I know how to install roms. But now it says error, whats wrong with my phone now?

bb is .67 and its official SE rom 2.1.. and phone is rooted, busybox installed and xrecovery installed too. Backuppin and restoring works.
Works now. Unistalled 1.00 xrecovery and installed 0.3 xrecovery and now works zips.
Why there in xrecovery topic isn't download link for 0.3? I found download link with a google..
Well I guess you are using xrecovery 1.0, try revert back to 0.3.

Sorry for the question, but how can I install xRecovery 2.5 or 2.6, after I've already updated to CM6-1.0.2 with CWM 3? I've read a lot of topics, that say there is need to install an earlier version of xRecovery in order to be able to install .zip applications like themes for example.
I've tried to do it with ROM Manager, it says then I've xRecovery 1.7, 2.4 or another one, and when I choose to reboot in Recovery, Clockworkmod recovery 3 appears again, instead of the version that ROM Manager has reported.
Could you please explain me how to install recovery.img manually step by step or another way to install xRecovery over CWM 3? I've tried also to install it manually by copying chargemon and busybox files in bin folder, but after that the phone can not load the system - a lot of errors appear on boot.
I'll be very thankful to you for your help!

Yes, right here, guys! The xRecovery for the X10 Mini Pro works on the X10 Mini! No need for complex hboots, rom managers or so - simple .apk installation and the CWM 3 turned into 1x xRecovery!
Seems that you don't know that there is a search button into the forum.

Nope, I know about it, but the problem was I was unable to istall .zip files under CWM 3 for the lack of Edify script in it.

yes you can't flash old .zip with amend script but this one allows you to flash old xrecovery above cwm (i tried myself.)
then you'll be able to flash old .zip but no more the recent with edify scripting

xrecovery backups need to be placed in cwm folder to be used
Hello all. I just got my SE X10 befor i had a SE X8 i had i unlocked and flashed whit CWM to CM7.2. Now i wanted to instal Cyanogen Mod 7.2 on my new X10 but as far as i got was to root the phone whit SOC and instal xRecovery 0.3 GB whit the apk. Now my problem starts i cant install any ROM tryed several tutorials i found on xda but nothing helped. Getting this error:
E: Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk-p1 (or /dev/block/mmcbkl0)
(Device or resource busy)
E: Can't mount /sdcard
Tried some how tos i found including deleting creating and chmoding the sdcard folder but nithing.
Whne i boot to xRecovery and go directly to mount mass storage device and connect the phone to the PC i hear a sound that a new device is connected but i dont see the SD card.
Is there a way to instal CWM on the X10 i know its not supported but some peaple managed to install it and works fine but cant finde any good tutorial.
click fix permissions to get root access to mount sd card

my man first of all open seus->support->update phone->repair phone written in red color->and then click next and choose ur phone and then do as it says....
this would install the stock rom and all and hopefully correct ur problem.... then here is the guide go here and u can intall any rom unlock bootloader and all....

mate a friend of mine installed cm7.2 thru xrecovery so it works for sure...
again flash the kernel then boot to cwm recovery using flashtool and then wipe everthing cache partition dalvik cache factory reset nd all... then click install zip from sdcard....
also make sure you dont hae any password installed on the sdcrd wich cud be blocking access
rohit25: I didnot flash kernel for x10 BL shold be unlock but im not sure can i check it some how? Got the phone from a friend he did some tweeks but restored it fo factory whit SESU befor i got it. And can u give me a link for a cernel i need to use so that i cen get CWM an install MC7 ? I found a load of ROMs bud no kernel files and i dont know what kernel i need fot the x10. For the X8 a X10mini there was just one kernel from nAa so had no problems identifiing what kernel to use

Can anyone provide me whit the link for a FXP kernel i need to run the CM7.2 RC3 ? I found some links on the official cyanogen site but the links are dead and i dontk know what kernel ill need so that ill have CWM an i could install CM 7.2.

1.rename xRecovery0.3_GBReady.zip to update.zip
2.BOOT INto xRecovery
3.choose install update.zip
4.Done!
After that u cn install whatever ROM u wan

After install update.zip from sd card, reboot it and reboot into xRecovery, try it

Hey, here is the file i have help u rename it to update.zip,
Just put in sdcard without any file putting, just outside sd card. Then flash it.

Yes tok a empty SD card copyd the file renamed it to update.zim rebooted to xRecovery vent to update zip from sd and got the same error as a get all the time

Dn install it from custom.zip.....just it at the xRec main page n choose the 2nd or 3rd one cux i hv forgot which

As i told befor i restored the phone whit SESU 2time ROOTed it instaled xRecovery and evry time i got the same error dont think a third restor will help but ill try later on will update if it helps but im confident it will give me the same error as befor...
