LG Warranty and bricked phones - Optimus One, P500, V General

I tried to flash my phone with LGMDP.exe and I've bricked it
I've tried all ways to make kdz recognise it with no success and the phone doesn't even enter in emergency mode...
So my sad question is: if I say to LG that I've bricked my phone with their official software during the last 2.3.3 italian updgrade (released this morning), will they repair my phone without making me pay money?
Thanks to all that will answer me

LG Italia services are dumb,so you can say it without problems. Also rooting and custom romming the phone doesn't void warranty.

Tell them that the phone has bricked during the update with the official tool. Generally LG accepts the warranty. Most probably they'll change the main board.

Just tell them that the phone was working at night and when you woke up it was like this. You don't need to mention the update. They'll change the board, quietly.
Are you sure it is bricked? No mode is working?

@ciaox: haha ok
@kopchev: I just hope they'll repair it within one or two weeks...

KDZ doesn't recognize the phone in any goddamn way... It doesn't go in Emergency Mode and I've tried to reinstall lg drivers a couple of times

Unplug than remove battery. That's the correct method to brick it.

BTW I've just taken my phone to an LG center near home and they belevied me... They will send the phone to LG and when it's fixed or changed I will take my new phone from the center... I just hope I'll get my phone before 24 of this month cause I'm leaving for a week

Mine was repaired within 3 days. I sent them on tuesday, the returned it to me on thursday. In the service log I saw that they ordered new mainboard on tuesday and received it on thursday. Very quick, which is not typical for Bulgaria

The assistence guy told me they would have fixed it in two weeks

[Q] Just asking

My phone was dead (had to change motherboard) so I sent it back to the lg service center.....
How long does it take to fix my p500?
#Maybe it's different from your country but never mind
if its in america from tmobile it will only take a day or two but they send the phone first
I don't think they change motherboard for a bad update or flash rom went bad kind of dead phone. They just hook up the phone to a jtag (something) and flash fresh rom.

[Q] lg?

In case you have to send your phone to lg to be repaired, what exactly do you tell them and about how much will it cost?

most of them (in my country) come with innocent face, and then argued their mobile phone hangs when playing games and never boot again
and wait for 4-7 days, their board get replaced
so do they take the phone back or not

To be honest, I bricked my phone thrice in six months. Reapired it at the service centre. You can always say that "I switched off my phone before I went to sleep. The next day I can't turn it on!" That's what I told them. My phone was under warranty so it was free
And yes they take it back to change the board for you

I bricked my phone more than 10+ times but I still can rescue it through KDZ.
I have bricked my phone 5 times in a day once.
i have a warranty also, i'm thinking its the battery bc it was in emergency mode for so long without having a good charge. hopefully they can repair the whole phone

My definition of bricked is that the phone can't even enter emergency mode. If you can't even do that, how the hell am I supposed to use kdz

you can't miss something cos if so your phone won't boot up, i think call bestbuy first and make sure your phone is unlocked when you deliver your phone to them.

NO!!!! That is INCORRECT! Make sure you phone is LOCKED before you take it to best-buy or Sprint!!!!! You got the phone under warranty Locked, they will standby that. If you unlocked it and they see it, that means you f**ked with it which voids the warranty and they don't owe you s**t!
TRUST ME!!!!

You don't have to take my word for it, ask a forum admin. He**, go to another phone and ask around there! Look [email protected], the instructions for ANY Flash/Root/Unlock starts out with "This will void your warranty and I'm not responsible if you brick your phone!" Then they give you instructions.
Even if you take it in unlocked and they find out and you say screw it and walk out, then fix it yourself back to stock, your still f**ked. They will upgrade your account with note that you did it, so if something jacked later, T.E.P is off the hook!!!
Note: I know all this because I was a B.E.S. Admin for @ 7 years. My old job, I did not work in Mobile support, but I loved flashing Windows phones and they had like 40 of them laying around. Sale guys would see **** I did, to embrassed to ask because it would make them look dumb, try it, brick it, go into Store, hence, company contract and warranty is gone!!!! Got into Android with Evo and never looked back!
I'm working but just looked @ briefly, e-mail me your e-mail and I will send you file and EXACT instructions to get you out of jam. In the mean time, you need to download RSDLite to your computer and install. Also, make sure you have 100% charge on your phone (you can go lower, but that is trouble too!). Also, free up USB on BACK of computer, not front!!
Trust me, I spent 2 days without phone, I know how it feels!
I'm Home! [email protected]!
My bad a lil lost so are you saying to sbf because I already did and it didn't fix the problem what I can try is someone can do a fresh install backup with none of your info and pm a zip or files and see what my is missing

[Q] SGS3 Suddenly Died... What happened??

Hi there Folks....
My SGS3 Pebble Blue suddenly went dead. I leave my phone overnight with 17% battery charge, I dont remember well if the wifi was on, but in the morning it was completely dead, no button respond at all. Thinking that the battery has been emptied, i plug in the charger, but the phone doesnt respond, not even the LED nor the battery display that is charging. So, I leave it on the charger for a couple of hours, like 3 or 4 hours but still its dead.
My SGS3 is running at Omega ROM v34, everything is working fine before the incident, no lags, no system crashes. It is made in vietnam and I got it from a local network provider in Phillippines.
What can i possibly do to revive my SGS3? I could not send it to Samsung for warranty because, first it is running in custom firmware, next is warranty is completely void because i have already replaced my LCD Screen last month. I dropped my phone and the Screen was damaged so I ordered a screen replacement and I myself replaced the damaged screen.
Please help, I have no idea what happened....
Sounds like the S3 "Sudden Death" issue that was in the media some days ago (so the chance is high that it is a physical defect and you can't do much against it...).
Try a google "Galaxy S3 Sudden Death" search and you should get tons of informations about the issue. As far as i know Samsung Support repairs/replaces damaged devices without trouble.
Looks like they replace the mainboard on those damaged devices. Some people are saying that it might be some sort of planned obsolescence that kicks in to early.
That would also explain why Samsung is not talking about those issues at all and repairing/replacing damaged devices without further asking.

Unfortunately my S3 died on me as well on the eve of new year!
I'm waiting for the holidays to be over so I can send it to the Samsung service center.
Hopefully, they will cover the repairs with the warranty and they will not notice that my phone is rooted and running on custom software..

Have sent in the unit yesterday to the service center. They have checked the download mode and asked me if I did some rooting and I said no.
From the download mode they cannot see the product name but there is no custom binary download numbers too so they said it is covered by warranty and just this morning, I called them up to follow up and they said they already ordered a new motherboard. I asked again if there are no problems with regards to the warranty and they have confirmed that it is indeed covered. Hopefully, in a week I'll get the repaired unit

So have you gotten your phone back yet? Which service center did you bring your unit to?

Dead V10 (H900)

So about four months ago I bought an LG V10 from an online vendor (same vendor I got my LG G2 which has never given me issues) So that being said I can't completely rule out it was just faulty from the vendor or just the problems that already exist with the model. So after about 3 or 4 weeks of having the phone I had no problems and then one day I was using it and it turned off and just wouldn't turn back on. I tried using a new battery and it won't turn on and it obviously won't connect to the computer. I don't have a warranty since it was bought from a vendor outside of the UK. So basically is it worth taking it to a repair shop or should I just get another (different) device? I would like to keep the device mostly because I was on holiday when I had the phone and all the photos were saved on the internal memory and I'd really like to get them off and not lose them.
