Hello,
I need to reset my phone back to factory settings, unroot or what ever you call it! How can i do this? I have got a usb jig so that i can reset the counter. Do i just download a stock rom and do it that way? Or do i plug it into kies and then restore it that way. I don't need to keep anything on the phone.
Thanks
Richard
Flash a complete stock Rom using odin. Latest for your region.

Hi,
First of all I've done a lot of searching and no success on how to do it, if possible.
I have a SGSII rooted(CF-Root) with CheckROM RevoHD V4 and ICS Domination Theme.
I wanted to know, how can i restore back entirely to stock and be able to do normal kies updates since a co-worker is buying my phone full price but with the condition i take it back entirely to stock.
I already did a firmware restore following this link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278
But although it doesn't seem to be rooted anymore Baseband Version and Kernel Version say different things and Build Number says CheckROM RevoHD V4, and the Domination Theme is still applied.
If there is a way to do what i want to do I would appreciate any help.
Thank you in advance.
The flash didn't work properly.
What worked for me only a few weeks ago was....
Using CWM format internal SD.
Using Odin flash stock firmware.
Using jig reset flash counter.
Everything was back to how it bought it.
Should be all you need to do.

you gotta wipe data/factory reset, wipe dalvik cache
then grab a stock rom and flash it with odin, use intratech post under original android dev forum, with that you will lose everything and have a stock rom/modem/kernel
cheers
You can just delete the contents of internal SD instead of formatting. I just formatted to make it easier.
Like said about do a factory reset/wipe before flashing with Odin if your downgrading.
Hope it all goes well for you.

Ok I'm downloading one firmware from north america in that i think is not branded since my SGS2 it's suppose to be the international and I'm going to reinstall cf-root to have clockwork again and do it all over...
Only have to flash a cfroot kernel to temporarily have CWM. Not whole Rom if you just want to format etc.
Then flash a whole new stock Rom to reset to that version.

Hi xda goers .
I'm trying to unroot my s3 ready for jb?
I've flashed back stock kernel via odin .
Flashed recovery through s.gs3 toolkit 1.0 which got rid of cwm etc.
But I'm still rooted?
It's still says custom binary in recovery mode & ota update fails @ 30%.
Do I flash full pda csc etc again?
Will it wipe my phone clean?
Don't wanna wipe my phone clean.
Help pls pls pls
You need triangle away to reset the counter. Then find your original firmware and flash with odin.
Edit: Backup your data.

Check out faryab's stock firmware sticky in the general section.
In the op, there is a link to a YouTube video by totally dubbed. It shows you exactly what you need to do to return to stock.

Is better to reset the counter with triangle away. No harm right
Flash with PDA only.
Flashing original firmware shouldn't wipe your data. But backup your data for safety.

Hi guys, i'm going to sell my galaxy s2 and the buyer want it all stock. I'm using the cm10 ROM on it. I've already downloaded the factory stock firmware on sammobile.com. Until there everything was ok, but now I'm not sure about the way to flash the stock firmware. Should I flash it by clockworkmod, as the customs Roms I've flashed before? Or should I flash it by Odin, like an unrooted phone?
Since now, thanks a lot for your help

Flash it via Odin as PDA
Then wipe all in recovery

when doing this, will the yellow triangle go away, phone get unrooted, and flash counter reset to 0?
cus im sure the buyer would want any avaliable warranty back aswell.
It would probably be good to reset counter before flashing, maybe with Triangleaway. Once i flashed original rom over custom with MobileOdin. Everything went well.

No, to reset counter and remove triangle you can do it either with a usb jig or by downloading chainfire app "triangle away" (Search it on the play store")

When u're flashing samsung stocks it'll does full wipe include rom itself, kernel, root, user data & caches then turn all to factory value. So don't even too worries about all u said above. But it worth to use stock 4.0.3 & avoid stock 4.0.4 in case to avoid emmc superbrick bug if u still doubt about advancing..

If you flash a "samsung official rom" it will take the triangle away but it does not reset the counter.
I have flashed CM9 CM10 and 2.3 stock , 4.0 stock a few times and my count is at 7, each time i flash stock the triangle goes away but the counter keeps counting.
Hello my friends, I got the infamous black spot in my camera and now I need to take my SGS II to service center.
I know I have to restore the Original ROM and kernel (and firmware?) but I don't what folders and files have to be in the internal memory and what folders and files have to be removed in order to erase any clue of phone customization/rooting.
I will appreciate your help. Thank you in advanced!
:cyclops:
First use triangle away to reset the flash counter if you're on ICS. The download the official firmware for your region from sammobile.com and flash it via Odin and you should be good to go. This should be enough. But just to be safe you can restore to factory settings from the Settings menu once you're back on stock. That'll delete all files etc from the phone. (Not necessary IMO)
Good luck.

Thank you for you reply.
I'm using JellyBean (ParanoidAndroid 2.52) can I still use trhe Triangle away?
So can I delete ALL the file in the internal memory without any risk of brick or stuff like that? Or which files I have to keep?
Thank you again!

Yes you can use triangle away.
To the best of my knowledgde, if you factory reset the phone from the settings menu once on stock, it'll delete everything. Apps, contacts, data etc bringing the phone back to how it was the first time you bought it. So the necessary files will remain.
But like I said..factory reset from the settings menu and NOT wiping in stock recovery. If possible, use 4.0.3 instead of 4.0.4. I'm sure you're aware of the emmc brickbug. Why risk it eh?
Good luck.

I know nothing about the emmc brickbug, what's that ?
After I do everything you said I still have to build a JIG to reset the binary counter, right? Otherwise my carrier company will cry cuz I put a custom ROM in my cellphone. Or they don't watch the binary counter when checking my phone? Remember this is a camera Hardware issue...

Then I suggest you search for information about it. Its all over this forum.
I don't know what Samsung checks while servicing the phone. But using triangle away resets the binary counter the same way the jig does. The jig works on GB, TriangleAway on ICS.
