Am I the only one wondering when you're going to upload the 3D pictures for this walkthrough?
Or more importantly if we can get a 3D video walkthrough
By the way, great work! Sorry to hear you had to replace the screen already.

I was thinking this same thing. I suspect you wouldn't have to rip it completely apart to do it: just down to the point where you get to the screws that hold the board with the LCD screen into the case. Loosen those 6 screws (wouldn't even have to take them out all the way) and then push the closest corner a little to realign and tighten. I suspect there's enough play to correct the alignment problem at least so that it would be better. Wouldn't have to move it but a fraction of a millimeter. Worth a try, and I'm hoping that you could just loosen the first few screws to do it and you wouldn't have to do all the unplugging, etc.

Im sure there is since my 2nd replacement phone is completely centered.
Nice write up. Can you do a video walk through in the future?
Looks like the right place for this to me. Great job on the write up. Great detail, and awesome instructions. Would like to see a video to follow up the instructions with the backwards install and then it would be perfect. Thanks
great post btw!
but is it just me or do the pictures seem to just show the process of replacing the camera board? I didn't see the screen's in any of the pic's, or did I overlook something?
Why did you have to replace your screen already?
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA Premium App
I didn't see anything related to screen replacing as you indicated in the OP. This just looks like another EVO3D teardown thread.
My ''xDU4L C0R3 SH00T3Rx'' shot you down in 3D!
Man... That looks a little bit more in depth than an iPhone screen replacement.
I've had to do a couple of those and there easy! A matter of 2 screws, a suction cup and detaching a ribbon. Boom, its out.

Post your pictures here and rate them
If you made any optimizations to the settings, tell them I think many people are eager to know what you did to get such a nice pictures.
Or some people can help you with those settings if your pictures are coming out bad.
Could you please upload it to a website like www.imageshack.us , www.photobucket.com or the alike?
Keeps the picture big if you use direct link + we wont use too much space of XDA and we dont need to manually shrink/cut them.
End result is that we have a nice gallery to look at when we scroll through it.
Well lets start :

Hi all!! I've heard that evo3d camera isnt as good as for example HTc sensation... I saw some samples and in fact they are not so good is there any way to improve them by software or the quality depends on hardware??
If you know how to take a picture they can come out fine.If you adjust the settings to your situation the Evo 3D can take phenomenal photos. Most of the pictures you see are user error more than a crappy camera.
Overall the camera is mediocre. But can take descent photos with the right user and settings.

No, but to be fair I have very steady hands. I shoot a lot of still shots at Auto Shows. I love the camera button vs the onscreen button.
This may help.

They both work fine. I take pics with the button instead of the screen but it does seem to have a lil shutter lag. Not really any different than any other phone really. I also have a nexus s that does the same.

It's not a problem with the button, it's just when I halfway press to focus, and then press fully, I end up just slightly moving the phone due to the movement of the button. (if that makes sense) if I really try hard to hold it still, I can take good photos, but I always get a clear photo from using the touchscreen. So, rather than trying my best to use the button, it's just easier for me to not use it.

check out the miui version. The camera is awesome. And for night pictures, the miui camera keeps the led on so the sensor can do it's focus.
I've been thinking about removing the protective covering over the lenses to see if I can get better quality pictures. Do you guys think it'll make a noticeable difference?

Simply because the evo is a higher grade of technology than the swnsation. HTC knows what they r doing. Example, there must have been a reason to stop at 8mp, now every phone company is maxed out at 8mp. Same for 3d, htc puts 2 5 mp camera followed by lg doing the same.

Now i'm wondering what it would look like with Black screen, silver frame and black top and bottom pieces.
Also, it looks like you've already switched the camera bezels, how much of a pain in the ass was it? It looks like you could just cut the plastic tabs off the back and then put a dab of super glue on the back to hold the new one on.
Not gonna lie, an all-black Evo LTE with a silver, or better yet, brushed aluminum kickstand... Yeah, that's sexy.

Samsung has it going on ....
Id like to see a phone about the size and shape of the S3..
with the screen on front to act as normal....
THEN unfold it twice....Like a tri-fold wallet..
The existing "front" screen would flip to the rear.. and exposing 3 new screens making up a larger 16:10 display.
tripling the screen size of the 'closed' phone.
Of course, the 'closed' phone's rear cam with flash would become the new front cam and vice-a-versa.

One of the "possibilities" they showed in the video was something just like that, except it only opened bi-fold. Still an awesome idea, I would just be worried about durability. Anything folded and unfolded 100 times a day is going to wear out

Can't wait for samsung to make a full 10" rollable flexi sheet w/Wacom digitizer integration.
I'm concerned about reliability in a flexible device as well.
I suspect they may use a "wrap " feature first, using abstract edges and multi screen functions.
A flexible display wrapped around ....say ....a cylinder, would be simply badazz....
Possibilities are indeed endless ....g

I have to agree that their is definately some concern with flexi screens, and development\. But can you also imagine the galaxy pebble but phone size, and oval shapped fully wrapped all the way around with a screen? That would also be sick.
