Hi
My friends X10 usb port broke off.
Can't return to SE for repairs - Someone voided warranty
We got the USB port fixed (charging) But lost data over the USB port.
My question, could someone please help us get to 2.1 from 1.6. The phone already rooted.
ADB via Wifi flash?
PS. I did search. There is only threads about going to stock rom from 2.1 on broken usb port.
Thanks
firstly, wrong section...
secondly, no currently there is no way to do that... u should get it repaired, GB update is round the corner

do what Brian said, Delete the system folder, so they just reflash the latest firmware.
If you do this.. you will loose the root?.. but you should be able to root it again.
Thanks for the reply
1st. Sorry for wrong section.
2nd. Like I mentioned, the phone can't be returned due to warranty voided (long story)
so I can't delete my System folder to get it re-flashed.
DoomLord said something about GB update? not sure what that is ?
Isn't there a way to get a OTA update with WiFi? (maybe set a custom location or something.)
I'm desperate here. 1.6 is oooold
LOL, if you broke your USB port or any physical damage, then warranty is void.
Please post in the correct section next time, also other members have answered your question. On that note, thread closed.

Hello guys, I have a very big problem with my x10.
The USB port is broken and the phone is no longer under warranty.
I would like to try the modified kernel, but unfortunately requires the baseband 52 and unfortunately I have a .54.
There is the possibility of changing baseband without using the USB port?
xrecovery or anything?
Many thanks.
if it is possible to Zip the BB files then you can flash via Xrec
Thank you so much response.
Could you give me the link to the file?
Thanks again
Change your build prop to an x10 that has over the air update with 52 baaeband... not sure wich model and company. Then do update frim settings
Sent from my X10 using XDA App
you could just attach the needed files to an email and send them to your gmail. Save the attachment and navigate to the 'download' folder on your sd card in xrec to install
You cannot change phine w/o usb.. the files are for roms, not for changing phones w xrecovery. So over air update ia all i can think of

i dont think OTA updates will work for updating baseband...
Meanwhile, thank you for fast answers.
I am an Italian user, and use a translator to read and write, and unfortunately I did not understand what to do.
Just to complete the situation tell you:
To charge the phone battery I bought an external charger, which charges the battery outside the phone.
And to write data on the microSD, use a memory card reader.

the stock rom 2.1(eclair)?
I want this rom without xrecovery, without root and, if possible, I want to flash this rom in CWM, because the miniusb connector is broken, so i can't connect the cellphone in SEUS...
Thanks everyone...
Post questions in q&a section and not in dev section.
Sorry mate, I was viewing the both sections(I was searching here) and I create the thread in the wrong section, someone move this thread please...

just pay 2 bucks and get new connector, that is impossible to get a ROM without xrecovery or root but install through CWM...
This thread totally is nonsense question.

Ok, but's not my cellphone, I can't do anything about the hardware, it's my girlfriend cellphone and she said that I don't can open her cellphone...
I know that seems a weird thing, but it's the olny way that i could think, if someone can send to me an backup in xrevocery with just root, i could replace the chargemon and the busybox, that will help a lot...
@static28
Done...
if its your girlfriends' phone, you can just return it to her after installing a stock ROM [with CWM].
No offence, but most girls, dont really get technology.
and yes, it is impossible to have any kind of recovery without root.

solution for your problem:
find 2.1 back at the forums and download it to any computer which has bluetooth.
transfer the back up from computer to x10 mini pro through bluetooth
run root explorer or file manager ( I guess you have that )
move the 2.1 back up from "bluetooth" folder the "CWM" folder
boot to CWM. restore back up.
DONE!

Better than nothing. You have some suggestions for our mate? eh?
anyway.
@carcass.br
you can just remove your sd card and find a card reader and transfer the back up directly.
Hi guys i was gonna root my phone and was told it would be a good idea to buy a usb jig first incase something goes wrong but when i went to buy one it said it did not support 2.3.5 then i read that i can flash the the phone with a modified firmware which lets me use the usb jig, now excuse my ignorance because i am a noob and i'm trying to do all the research i can before i root my phone but am i wrong in saying that if something goes wrong while flashing this modified firmware and i brick my phone i cant use the usb jig to revive it?

No my friend, you wont brick your phone if you follows the instructions correctly mentioned on the thread. Regarding your query about USB jig, Its a nice tool, everyone should have one before proceeding with flashing ROM/Kernals
USB jig will help to :
1. To reset custom binary counter.
2. Removing the yellow triangle after flashing custom software
3. Getting to Download mode in case of soft brick
Version 2.3.5 onwards are packaged with New bootloader which doesnt allow you to use the bootloader. If you follow the Intratech thread on flashing ROM (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278) and Chainfire thread for rooting (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278), you will not go wrong.
P.S Intratech packages all ROMS with old bootloaders, so you will be able to use USB jib.
All the best with Flashing and rooting . PM me if you have any concerns!
Hope this helps!
thanx for your help
I am just so affraid of destroying my phone it is the best i have ever had.

If you are good at soldering, you can make one at home using a USB cable. Search the forum and you will find thread regarding making the USG Jib or purchase online or buy locally.
Amazon link : http://www.amazon.co.uk/SAMSUNG-GALAXY-9001I-DOWNLOAD-MODE/dp/B004YIUIKG
They are available on ebay for as little as £1 from trusted sellers.

yes but what if i brick my phone while flashing it?
The chances that you will brick your phone by flashing bootloader are the same as you flash firmware.

my point exactly but if i do my phone is then duffed for good.
p.s. are there any good custom roms that still have touchwiz as i really like it.
I'm using Hyperdroid Androimeda rom. It is deodexed stock slightly tuned. Works like a charm. has TW
Thanx for the quick reply are there any others?
SensatioN Rom - very good one
i agree that the USB jig works good, i get one month ago and i used it many times on a galaxy S2. i had the case when i get over the version 2.3.4 to go to 2.3.6 so i used ODIN to go back to the down version then i went to CM7. From there i became a flash junkie, tried at least 10 different roms and each time i needed to reset the custom binary counter i putted at least the 2.3.4 how much more fun i can get with this game"galaxy"boy. So I'm very grateful for the great job the XDA team are making here! Thank's to ALL!
is there a really good video tutorial to show me exactly how to do it including how to get stock firmware and how to get back so the usb jig works again and where did you get your usb jig was it ebay?

Have access to fastboot/flashmode?
Install complete stock ROM via Flashtool(don't wipe data if you have important data there), or unlock bootloader and install proper kernel.
hello guys i did some research and i have only found Da-G's thread which is the old revert to stock. I currently have an issue with my note, and i called warranty and my new device should be here on Monday. i will have to ship my old device back, thus ill need to revert it back to stock. whether it be GB or ICS. is there any insight on this. im afraid of using DA_G's odin.tar and bricking the device since i believe it is a GB odin. any light shed on this would be phenomenal.
needs to be in q&a
