my droid x2 has issues with flash based sites,, specifically with the keyboard,, before the gingerbread update i could type in the chat rooms i got to but not hit enter on the keyboard,, now after gingerbread update it won't type a thing in those websites
i see the blue highlights showing what i hit
but nothing gets on the screen as far as input.. i was excited when i got flash on my original droid x,, but its update to 2.3 caused the same keyboard issues
so they gave me the droid x2,, which had 2.2 but the newer motoblur,, and it had those issues with the enter key not working on the keyboard but at least i could type,, now with the 2.3 and another revized motoblur, ,i get nothing,, can anyone help me with this?

This is soooo annoying, does anyone here get this error on some websites while browsing using the default shipped Android 2.2 browser?
Andriod browser dialog box mesg:
"Data connectivity problem
The page contains too many server redirects."
Example: http://www.yelp.com just does not work for me.
I am not sure if this is only happening to build 315 Dell Streaks. I did read somewhere else that going to build 318 fixes it, but I'd like to know how to fix this on 315 without going to 318.
Thanks in advance!

I get the same thing on stock 2.2 I have yet to figure out what it means or how to fix it.
You don't even have to root your phone to install baseband 318. As long as you are on baseband 305, 309, or 315 you won't even have to connect it to your computer.
Download (here is a Dell page with the link) the 318 file with your phone or with your computer and copy to the root of your SD Card. Browse to it with a file browser (you can use Quick Office) and tap on it.
If it doesn't do anything (if it does you'll be taken through the upgrade process) then rename the file to update.pkg.
Turn your phone off. Press the power button to turn your phone on and as soon as the LEDs light up hold BOTH volume buttons down. The phone will go into recovery mode. Use the volume controls to highlight the choice to install update.pkg and then press the camera button to select it.
The 318 update will be installed and your phone will reboot.
I believe that the second method will wipe your settings, so you'll have to set up your accounts and re-install your apps. When I did this I did a factory reset first so that I was doing the equivalent of a fresh install.
That's it - no drivers to install, no cables to connect (unless you copy the file to your phone with the cable), and you are technically running a stock phone.
This will not work if you have installed a custom recovery, you need a stock recovery on your phone to use an update.pkg. So this is perfect for those who don't want to mod their phone. You won't be able to tell the difference except that the redirect bug is gone.

DELL released a fix for this problem months ago on http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/mobile-devices/f/3824/t/19353639.aspx
Download this file http://mobileupdate.dell.com/PackageProductionLocations/Streak_318_12821_00.pkg from the Streak's web browser, and then follow the instructions to apply the update.
I tried both ways listed here, unable to update.

Can you be more specific as to what happen when you try to upgrade? I just did the upgrade last night and did encounter a few problem myself but I got it done at the end so maybe I can be of help if you can be a little more specific about the problem.
Btw I'm on stock 318 update from above link and server re direct problem is gone
Worked like a charm, Thank you. All I did was download the file from my phone, then when it finished downloading I clicked on it from the notification bar and a menu poped up asking me to update and so I did. Now I no longer have that error poping up.
Sent from the phone killer of ALL phone's, Dell Streak!
eresse,pecisni
i am also facing the same issue
I used qdl to upgrade my streak from 1.6 to 2.2. 2.2 but I often can't get out of "sleep mode". I press the power button and swipe the unlock and usually nothing happens (no buzz and no movement of the bar). Once I couldn't even power it down as holding the power button brough up the correct prompt but the screen was unresponsive. I had to remove the battery.
Is there some sort of resolution to this issue? My touch screen works fine once I've got the phone "awake".
Did you perform the OTA upgrade to v.318 of 2.2. after the QDL?
Forgive me but I'm not sure what you're asking but perhaps this will help you answer your question. I used the tutorial at this link:

OK.
The very last screen says success. From here you can upgrade to an official build, or one of the ROM's by DJ_Steve on Streakdroid.com.
If all you did was that tutorial, you are at build 308, which is unstable. You need to do the official upgrade to build 318, which is the upgrade you were waiting to do when you were waiting for Dell/AT&T when you were still on ver 1.6. You can now do that upgrade. Or you can continue on the the latest ROM upgrade courtesy of DJ_Steve.
From this page at streakdroid.com:
Using QDLTool will get you to a pre-release of v2.2. From here, you’ll want to upgrade to a newer release. The two options that people tend to choose from are to either go up to the official v2.2 ROM from Dell, or install DJ_Steve’s latest ROM.
Official ROM
If you want to go to the latest official ROM from Dell, simply set up your wifi connection, then go to http://mobileupdate.dell.com/PackageProductionLocations/Streak_318_12821_00.pkg in the browser on the phone. You should be able to download and run to install the update.

To install the 318 build which fixes bugs in the build that QDLTool installs:
connect to a wifi network if you can
download the update directly to your phone from the link above
open the notification bar and select the download complete notification
you will be prompted to install the update
This method preserves your accounts and settings.

Did you ever solve this? I am experiencing the same error with a photon 4g and attic lapdock, a combination others seem to have gotten working (after minor hardware modification). There is no information available about this error that I can find.
Hello,
I recently flashed Winsuk's CM9 to my Aria, which had been running CM7 without a hitch for months, and I've been having the common problem of bootloops at the HTC screen when trying to install any of these gapps ICS packages. This forum (in which I'm not allowed to post) suggested updating to the HTC Froyo RUU firmware from here and then re-installing CM9 and gapps. This seems to have worked for the posters here. I however have been unable to get my phone, currently running Winsuk's CM9, to prompt me to connect to HTC Sync when I connect the USB to try and do the HTC official Froyo update. I'll try going back to CM7 and trying again. Does anyone have experience with installing official updates when running a custom ROM? The user who successfully did it was dust906. Any tips much appreciated.

Put your phone in FASTBOOT mode. (While USB cable is disconnected, turn phone completely off, then hold trackball button while pressing power button. After it comes back up and says FASTBOOT on the screen, let go of trackball button and plug USB cable back in.) It doesn't matter what ROM you have installed, your computer should be able to detect the phone while the phone is at the FASTBOOT screen and start the official Froyo update process.
Want to install Google Chrome Browser on HTC Aria with CM9 ICS
Hello all,
Today only I have updated my HTC Aria phone with Munjeni's ICS ROM and the gapps. The phone is working great. I thank him for his efforts. However, for one of my experiments, I wanted to install Google Chrome Browser, which is compatible for Android 4.0 and onwards. My basic aim is to check webaudio apis which is working fine in Google Chrome Browser Desktop version 19.0.xxxx. But the same are not working on the existing browser on this android 4.0.4. So I wanted to download Google Chrome Browser for Android Beta on this CM9 image. The android Market (Play Store) says, my phone is not compatible for this Browser application.
Any clue on this subject from the experts?
Thanks
Google Chrome requires an ARMv7 or better CPU, which the Aria unfortunately does not have.
Hi,
I got a new motorola Razr with Android 2.3.6. I updated it using the built-in update feature to ICS 4.0.4. Now the current software is: 672.180.41.XT910.NonEFGISRetail.en.EU. After the update the phone keeps restarting every minute and I can't even make a call. Any clues, how to fix that problem ?

I had this issue with my Razr when I first got it and I was on gingerbread. I took it for repairs and it turns out my phone was a refurnished phone so they repaired it and its fine now.
By the way which country are you from?
