Just got my new tab earlier today, and I love it. Only problem is, there are what appears to be fine lines, streaking across the display. It's only noticeable when a dark image is on display. I'm thinking about returning my tablet and getting a new one from Best Buy tomorrow, what do you guys think? Has this happened to any of your models? Does every tab have it?

This is my second G Tablet from Woot.
The first came with a bad pixel that I was intending to live with and try to correct. It went from one bad pixel to a whole line of green pixels across the screen and without rooting and flashing a different rom to get a program that actually would load on the G Tablet I gave up and RMA'd it. Pretty amazing service, shipped mine before the return arrived and no shipping either way.
Now my second G Tablet. Plugged it in and charged until the green light came on and booted it, anxious to get all of my apps reloaded. Immediately noticed that there is an outline about half an inch in from the screen edges all the way around the screen, it looks like a puddle on the screen and a lot like burn in on my Plasma TV. I honestly don't want to roll the dice again and get a new one, but I don't know if I should be concerned about the longevity of the product being less with this issue. Most apps you can't see it and it doesn't bother me, I just don't want to have it die on me a few months down the road and not have the option to return it.
I hope there isn't another thread about this specific screen issue, I couldn't find it and any advice would be great.
Try 'Pixel Fixer' from Market.
Also: LCD burn-in, image persistence fixed!
Are you sure thats not the dual layer screen protector that was shipped on earlier units ? perhaps woot got a punch of old stock.
Also might be some trapped humidity from transit (moving between indoor/outdoors) I would run it on highest brightness for a couple of days if that doesn't fix it I would exchange.
Not sure if it is the dual layer screen protector or not.
Being that it is a G-Tablet we don't have access to the true android market without rooting and running a different ROM, which I haven't decided against, but if I am going to be RMAing it i don't want to hack it and take a chance they refuse to replace it. It isn't bothersome, just more concerned about it effecting the longevity of the tab.
Thanks for the replies.
just download the apk of google.
if the tab is still covered by the manufacture warranty then make them fix it. if they cant fix it they will replace it for you then.
Hello!
I have just bought a brand new Samsung Galaxy S II.
Unfortunately, one of the first things i noticed upon unpacking it is that the screen has some strange gold colored lines in the upper part of the screen.
The lines are most visible when bright light is shone onto the screen e.g. a flashlight a lamp or out in the sun. They are most visible on dark colors or when the screen is turned off.
It looks as though the lines could be some sort of seem lines between two display pieces that are joined or bonded together. Does Samsung patch the screens together from multiple pieces?
I am not really happy about these particular lines that are present in the screen.
Has anyone else noticed such peculier lines in their display?
Hello!
Anyone else have seen this before? Would you accept this panel anomaly if it was your own phone?
Hope to get some response here :fingers-crossed:
No mate. I've never heard about such thing. I recommend u to return it and ask for a new one. It seems to be a rear factory issue.
Send from my GT-i9100 using tapatalk 2.

first do not bump posts, u should have patience ma8
since its brand new, just check with the local samsung service center and see that if its a real hardware issue, and get a replacement of the same
I have just obtained a new factory fresh unit. Shockingly, the screen on the new phone has similar lines in almost the exact same position, although these lines are much less obvious than those in the first unit i got.
What the hell is going on at the Samsung factory or whoever makes the screens, it seems like they have thrown all quality control out of the window.
For such an expensive product to have these flaws is in my opinion unacceptable. There must be a lot of people that has received a phone with the same flaws.
Is there any Samsung representatives here that can comment on this quality issue?
So I bought the S4 from Best Buy about a month ago and I was having bootup issues, so I returned it. They one they gave me has a weird screen issue when the lower part of the screen has a cooler color temperature than the rest. I am scared of trying to take it back, because I doubt they will notice it. Anyone else have this issue? is there any fix?
Hi guys,
I haven't really seen much feedback from others regarding this problem and I am quite surprised to be honest. I've ordered my s6 edge 2 weeks ago and have been using it for a week without noticing anything.
I've read through some article a few days ago before going to sleep and noticed a terrible pink hue in the bottom half of the screen. I didn't see the problem when I was using the phone in daylight and with the brightness quite high.
So I've ordered a replacement straight away, which came in yesterday.
The screen which I got on the replacement is completely pink, its even worse than the one I already had. Now I was wondering if I just got so unlucky, but I've had 2 friends at work compare their screens to mine (one of them have the regular s6, the other has an edge) and they the exact same issue as mee, although the pink hue is near the top in the s6.
This is a dealbreaker for a phone this expensive in my opinion... If you don't see it thats fine, but once you notice it it gets really annoying.
I've uploaded a short video with the first s6 edge I got, the replacement and my note 4 to show you the issue:
https://youtu.be/ob_5RjF4lPU
The note 4's screen is basically the same resolution and technology and its flawless. I don't know if this is some kind of manufacturing or quality control problem but I think samsung should sort it out.
The version I've got is the s6 edge gold platinum with 32 gb of memory. I would like you guys to take a lok at your screen and let me know if you got the same thing.
The best way to do so is to set it to a decent brightness level, screen mode to go for is "basic" and look at it in the dark, on a plain white background or with some text like I did.
Thanks for helping out!
Unfortunately I'll be returning both of these phones for now and I'll either wait for some later production or have a look at the note 5 or s6 edge plus...

Back when the phone was first released (April), there was plenty of discussion on this. It is a quality control issue.

Totally ?
When I look at the pixel 6 screen from a slight angle, I can clearly see a rainbow effect on any white background.
For reference please check the pic and video from another user: https://photos.app.goo.gl/twDfDwA1FT1QKftVA
Never had such issue on any android phone I owned till now. Even never had this issue on aftermarket screen on my pixel 2 (which I ordered from AliExpress).
I bought this phone in New Zealand from a parellel importer for $1399 (roughly translates to USD 950).
I am really disappointed. Could you please confirm if your pixel 6 also has same issue? I.e. is this a common issue or I have got a faulty one?
Based on your replies I will decide if I should return or live with this issue.
Yes it's a common issue unfortunately
I didn't even notice until you pointed it out. It's a complete non-issue for me, I rarely, if ever, look at the phone from such an angle.
this is my BIGgest issue with this phone. I'm on the fence of wether I should sell it or keep it.
I noticed from 1 minute and it's bugging me ever since.
Infuriating for me!
AS I understand it, it's a common flaw on rigid panel OLED displays (not flexible displays like on the P6Pro).
