So I've run into quite an annoying problem- I can't install applications from the market. Last night, I had my phone plugged into my computer and I don't THINK I had the SD mounted, but I've been wrong before. Anyways, I went to disconnect it and instead of dismounting then unplugging, I just unplugged. Since then, if I try to download something, the notification bar will show that the app is downloading, for a second, then it just disappears. My phone is rooted, no custom rom though, and I'm not running Apps2SD. Also, I'm running Ubuntu 10.10 x64 on my computer.
This has happened once before, and I had to tinker with popping my SD card out and rebooting the phone a few different ways before it finally started acting right again. I'm looking for help because 1) I can't remember exactly how I did it and 2) I figured I might as well try to find out if anyone here knows what I could do to fix it.
Thanks in advance.
Galaxy S Showcase stuck at very first screens
Afternoon guys, I did some browsing and searching and cannot seem to find a way to fix this, so here goes:
Samsung Galaxy S i500, Showcase with Cellular South.
It is rooted, with the original ROM/Kernel.
Yesterday, I was attempting to follow the guide on getting ClockWorkMod on it (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=860250) and when I finally got the final command to work, the phone rebooted, and has since been doing VERY little.
Power Button = SAMSUNG... No vibrate, No change.
Vol Up/Down + Power = SAMSUNG... No vibrate, word flashes, release power (steps to enter recovery or download), SAMSUNG screen remains. Still no vibrate or anything.
Plug in = Grey battery with "loading" circle with no animation of any kind. It is charging though.
Plug in + Vol for recovery/download mode = still just grey Battery not moving.
In all attempts, I have left it trying for anywhere between 30 mins to 4 hours... I cannot get to anything but those 3 results. (samsung, samsung w/ 1 flash, and grey battery).
If I can get it into Download, I can Odin it, or recovery to reset to factory... but I need to get to one. Any and all help is appreciated.

Download Mode
I had similar situation. Could not get past samsung screen. No splash screen.
Download mode. Pull battery, Plug in USB, hold Vol-. Little guy with shovel.
As for getting back to running. Good luck. I got new warrantied phone couldn't figure out how to fix after soft brick.
Let me start off by saying that I have searched in every possible place for a solution, and the only option I have left is you guys.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 that only turns on for a couple of seconds when connected to my computer or the charger.
The phone is running Slimbean 4.2.1 with Dormiax kernel version 7.46. Today I switched to Dormiax kernel version 8, but my phone would not get passed the samsung logo, so I reinstalled the 7.46 kernel. It was a little buggy during the rest of the day, restarting and ****, and then, all of a sudden, it died.
Now, I am unable to turn my phone on. And yes, I have tried with different batteries (4 to be precise). The only sign of life I get is when i connect it to the charger, then the grey battery icon with a loading circle in it shows up for a couple of seconds, and then the phone goes black for a couple of seconds, and the icon reappear again. I can also make the download mode screen appear, however, this too only shows up for a couple of seconds.
Have anybody experienced something similar? If so, any suggestions on what I can do?
Hey guys,
I was wondering what kind of logging the Samsung S4 does and how to access it.
I found some logs once; but I can't seem to get back to the the menu. Only the recovery menu button combo {down volume, home, power}
Also could not figure out how to copy those logs off the device.
Verizon Samsng S4 on Android 5.0.1 (LRX22C)
some back story:
I have Maas360 and a Kiosk policy applied to about 70 devices. Some have been getting stuck in a loop; phone restarts for no reason, stays up for about a minute than reboot.
So I figured I had pushed out a bad policy. I made a new policy minus the changes that correlated to the reboot loops and things seemed to be ok.
Since the phone wouldn't stay on the network long enough to grab the command to remove the bad policy, I wiped the phones with Samsung Kies firmware updater.
But now some of the phones I wiped are back to the reboot loop. This makes me worried since it was a slow burn the last time this happened. First one device than two, than bam! 3rd day 10 devices reboot loop.
thanks guys
First time posting here so bare with me.
I was using my Straight Talk /CDMA Samsung Galaxy S7 and I noticed it acting weird and sluggish so I restarted it. When it restarts after the logo screen it has me enter my pin, says verifying, the it has a locked padlock that unlocks with a colorful circle around it. Then it says Android is starting up. I did a factory reset on it because I read it could of had malicious firmware. It still starts up the same but now it seems my service is messed up. Well at least my SMS. I will send a message, it will have the spinning circle, it will send (i think) but says it failed. I have cleaned the partition and rebooted but nothing is working. HELP it is only a few months old.
Hey all
I bricked my ulefone power 3s yesterday. Got bootloop (always reseted after 5 seconds) and could never go into recovery mode. This is "fixed". But now I face some mystical ****..
- Phone in a bootloop. Could not enter any other mode.
- Connection on pc always came and went due to the constant resetting every 5 seconds.
- Used Smartphone flash tool: Auto format flash and format whole flash. Took 3 seconds and Tool said success
- Phone didnt boot at all now. Black screen. No vibration when trying to power on. Nothing. Was able to connect to pc and keep the connection however
- Flashed official rom.
- "Phone finally boots..."
But.. I've never seen something like this
From boot to android menu, the screen is COMPLETLY distorted.
I dont know what to do anymore. What the hell is going on? The screen worked perfectly fine before. Even during boot loop. I didnt crack the screen. Nothing happened to the display physically.. Its literally before and after in terms of time it took.
I can still scroll down and up normally (but laggy) use functions etc. Its just that the screen is completly ****ed up. Im completly out of ideas.. Reflashing doesnt work. Problem persists.
Theres also this weird chinese text and key on the upper right corner. No idea what it means and never had it before.
