It's out in some markets. I picked mine up through Rogers here in Canada yesterday (apparently it went on sale here on Friday).
I don't think any GSM carriers in the US have officially announced plans to pick up the EVO 3D GSM yet, but I wouldn't be surprised if AT&T does at some point.

Yes it did.
I should mention that mine was the first the store staff had seen out of the box, and it was one of the few stores here in Ottawa with stock (and they only had 5). So initial roll-out may be a bit slow.

yep i got mine on 4th of august in the mail
but mine is from where i live Holland
got 2 days before official launch XD

It's for sale in Denmark as well.
Got a mail from the HTC Club saying it was for sale soon. Clicked the link to one of the stores mentioned (Elgiganten) and lo and behold +100 in stock.
Called the girlfriend and 1 hour later we got some nice upgrades from the Desire.

Nice!
I so whant this device... But i don't have money. I'm asking for a friend

No preorder? Sprint may have enough for you!

I just went into my local sprint store (southgate shopping center, colorado springs) they still had plenty for people to preorder. If you are nervous about getting one just call up your local store, chances are most people went to best buy or radio shack.
just thought I would throw that out there....
yeah my local RS got 15 in yesterday

I asked and they said that they are activating all phones in the store. Probably for the best, the bank wouldn't be happy with me messing with it all day. :/

I doubt I could wait until after work.
I was excited (thought I was gonna puke) when the UPS man showed up yesterday! I was first in line at that store last year to get my Evo. Would have been sitting outside the store at 6 a.m. again this year if they didn't do the online thing early. Phones are my only vice.
Good thing, cause you would be a mess!

well, I didnt even plan on getting it till today. So waiting a couple extra hours wont hurt too much... i dont think
also, if anyone didnt know yet sprint is still offering $125 service credit for porting your number over. Even better reason to ditch tmobile...
When the Evo was released there was such a rush that it brought down the activation system for awhile. It's been speculated that the demand for this phone isn't as much as the OG Evo but be mindful none the less.
The East coast stores will be in full swing by the time it becomes your turn in the mid west, so allow yourself some time.... Enjoy.

well, we are mountain timezone out here in Colorado... so there will be two time zones in full swing if it goes down it will likely happen once the west coast is added to the mix.

yes, they extended it till the 23rd of next month
I dont think enough people know about that. With that discount and a giftcard that I get for signing up for service through my work website, I will be making money off getting this phone $100 gift card + $125 service credit+ selling my tmobile G2 which is in great shape will net me a bit of profit.
the original evo was in very high demand because it was actually one of the only phones available with the specs it had. No other carriers even had anything close to it. Now almost every carrier has 4.3 inch screen and well spec phones. Normal person really doesn't even know anything about processors, like bunch of my friends. They always ask me what phone they should get. mostly people go for screen size and android, ram processor is the last thing they care about, all they know is the 2ghz is faster then 1ghz.

yep doing the same thing. seems like not a lot of people know about the credit... I wonder if they apply it if you don't even ask for it. $125 off the phone plus selling my galaxy s = a profit for getting this phone!
Sprint still has tons for online sales. As my thread made awhile back there is no shortage of ev3d.
I ordered another today with the sprint premier link and had to call in to validate and the guy said it would have no problem going out today. And they had many leftover from the SP pre sale so online or sprint store either of them will have plenty.
Just saw that thread (it was on page 13 so forgive me for missing it)

[Q] Info before buying an EVO 3D

Hello my dear friends,
I need an information about the EVO 3D in the US. In France it's rare and expensive, and I have a friend who's travelling to NYC in a few days so I needed to know how much it would cost if I asked her to bring me a brand new EVO 3D without contract and GSM of course! I would work in France right?
In a nutshell I need the price and if there actually a GSM version in the US!
Thank you all in advance!

You can always try Ebay
The proble is the taxes from the customs...
Does GSM necessarily mean 1GB of internal memory?
Only Canada has the GSM version in North America, it runs $99 on a 3-year contract with Rogers, and I believe $550 as an outright buy. I bought one yesterday through a Rogers partner (Tbaytel). That version is HSPA 850/1900/2100
In the USA, only Sprint carries the Evo, on their CDMA network.
There are likely places in the US where you can buy it from, but it probably won't come with a warranty.
Okay understood! So if I find someone going to Canada, I'll have to tell him to go at Rogers? And ask for a phone without contract? Right? 550 US dollars?
Thank you a lot for helping
Am I right?

HTC EVO 4G LTE Waiting List

Good Morning All,
Anyone have any stores (Sprint, Best Buy, Radio Shack, etc) doing a waiting list for the EVO LTE? I know they will have a pre order 5/7, but didn't know if they were doing a list like they did for the 3D.
Thanks!
I checked my local store and they said they would probably start a waiting list in 2 weeks with a $50 gift card purchase.
The waiting list is the pre-order. That's why they call it the pre-order. You're on a list, waiting for the phone you ordered prior to it's release date.

Do you think its not worth it. I was planning on getting it myself but not sure if I can since I started my plan when the evo3d came out last year summer. That means I wont qualify for a upgrade until 2013. If devs like you wont develop for that phone then I wont be too heart broken if I dont get it.

[Q] Will Sprint report the pre-orders results?

Perhaps we will have to wait for a quarterly report from the company. It would be interesting to see how many EVO 4G users returned, how many pre-orders they had, and if it was what they anticipated.
Dont bet on that.

A LTE phone without a network? Yeah sells are going through the roof Get in line, suckers.
I doubt they will. Sprint's timing of this phone launch wasn't ideal.
First they launched after the One X, which stole some thunder first. Then they launched it before their LTE went live despite having 4g LTE in its name. So I think Sprint is going to be a little disappointed with their numbers.
Hopefully Sprint can turn on their LTE network ASAP and start recapturing those EVO 4G contacts set to expire.

Photon MIA on Sprint's Website

Is it just me or has anyone else noticed that the Photon 4G is no longer offered as a choice on Sprint's website. The OG Epic 4G is even still there, but no Photon, it's missing in action...
Yes, Since the Photon 4G will can not support Sprint's LTE network, they have discontinued it. Phones that are only 3g are still there but the ones that could not be upgraded to support the LTE network have been discontinued and removed.

Well, that would make sense except they are still offering the original Epic 4G. So maybe it's Motorola and not Sprint.
I have not looked into the Epic at all. Can that phone be upgraded to be LTE? I know that the Photon can not.

No, not at all. I still have both. Only will do WiMAX.
well, either way, The photon has been removed from Sprint's store for almost a month now. There were theories that there was going to be another motorola super phone released in the near future, but those have yet to be confirmed from what I have seen.
I got the Photon this past September and as of 6/1/12 the Sprint website says I can uprade at discount prices on a new 2 year contract. Is this normal, or did they change their upgrade policy? Is anyone else seeing early update options?

Not that I am aware of. I don't even really know what Sprint Premier is. I was wondering if maybe they did this for all Photon owners but no one else mentioned anything. Or maybe I just got lucky and it's a goof up.

With all due respect, your comment doesn't make sense. As the OP states, the Epic 4G doesn't support LTE either (and can't be upgraded to it), but is still there.

From what I have read this is the conclusion I come up with...
Sprint needed to clear up some room in the phone lineup for upcoming LTE devices. They need to keep a certain range of phones for each category: budget, mainstream, and power user. The Photon was in the power user (top tier) category. Since they have the new EVO and will be getting the SGS3 as well as a few others, bundled with the fact that the Photon was probably one of lesser selling devices (especially since the release of the SGS2) it makes sense that the Photon was discontinued.
Of course we all know the reason why the Photon was not successful is because of the lack of marketing on Sprint's part and the lack of push by sales team within Sprint. I'm sure if someone came into the store and there was the Epic Touch and Photon sitting side-by-side the typical sales person would push the Samsung first.

If it wasn't for the signal issues with the SGS2, I would have gotten that. When I saw that it had been almost three months at the time and the signal issues hadn't been fixed, I decided against it. When I saw them side-by-side in the store, the SGS2 had a nicer looking screen, and the Photon was very jittery when I'd swipe from one screen to the next. Ultimately, I'm really glad I got the Photon. However, I remember talking to a lot of friends who had the same first impression of it.
I got the photon from Target mobile because it was $50 with my upgrade, and the SGS2 was $200. But the rep pushed me hard into anything but the Photon. He first pushed the SGS2, then the Evo 3D, and then encouraged me to look at an iPhone instead of the Photon. I was actually really discouraged until I got it home and realized what a badass it was!

Yeah, that's too bad. I still have my photon and was hoping for ICS goodness, but it was pushed back to Q4 2012 and likely won't get it. This is the only reason I went with the GNex. I hate bloat, but I do love my photon. It is interesting how Sprint is only interested in HTC and Samsung first before any other Android, except now pushing LG viper, but I bet that'll be a red-headed step child soon.
