merely seeing those 'greens' is no guarantee you have installed Xrecovery successfully--I think you may not have not done it yet.
Read the post at this link carefully and follow instructions http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=878426
Best wishes.
........do press the thanks button if this helps.........
Don't update your busybox, keep it at the original 1.15 (i think thats what it was) 1.19 stuffed things up for me, also couldn't get into recovery!
If you have not figured this out yet, connect your phone to pc and use flashtool to install xrecovery and reboot to xrecovery from flashtool menu.

Hi...
just install the latest busybox with busybox installer from the market
then install xRecovery X10i Mini (E10i) not the 0.3 this version will not work
restart your phone and press back if the Se logo appears
i will attach this version of xrecovery for you
try pressing the back button simultaneously after reboot. Don't wait for the sony ericsson word logo appear. I tried that when I made 2 or 3 reboots without going to xRecovery when I first tried to root my phone and it didn't fail me xD
1. man it's simple download adb mask controller
2. to your mobile go to settings->applications->development-> check usb debugging
3.connect your mobile to pc
4. open adb mask controller (attached below)
5. press check conncection
6. at the "Main" tab check "install" and then press "Push busybox"
7. at the "Push and Pull" tab check "/system/bin" then press "browse", select one of the three xrecovery file and then press "send" (xrecovery files included in the attachment)
8. do the same for the two remaing xrecovery files
9. at last reboot and press a lot times the back button
10. Voila xrecovery

Hi Guys,
I have a HTC Desire GSM and a Xperia X10i.
I have already using LeeDroid Gingerbread custom ROM on my HTC Desire and now working on Xperia X10i.
Rooting the Xperia X10i is straight forward using Single 1 Click 1.9 and does all the tricks. However, working on XRecovery on Xperia X10i needs some tricks and I have found those posts above useful.
Thank you so much guys. I have managed to install the XRecovery on third attempts, and now by the time I am writing this comment I should have backup the entire stock ROM & Apps + seetings.
My first aim to load CM7 for the Xperia 10i
Happy rooting & set my Xperia freeeeeee

Do you have recovery installed?
If so, when you see the sony ericsson screen keep hitting the back key (The one on the right on the front)
That will put you into recovery
If not download flashtool from here
and install it on your pc..
attach phone and you will see it connect.
Click root
then ask root permissions
then xrecovery
PS, in SEUS are you holding down the back button...
Turn the phone off (Pull the battery out if you have to and put it back in)
then hold down back button when SEUS says so

If your phone doesnt work after flashing with SEUS then I think your phone is broken.
SEUS a clean install of the latest SE software so it should work.
Did you choose to do an update or a factory reset and update.
Try again in PC Companion and choose factory reset and update.

Don't worry i know what to do.
First download PC companion on computer. Then install drivers on computer. After that open PC companion and click Update phone on Support zone. You will see a window witch will ask you if you want to restore your phone. When computer will be ready for restoring your device plug in your phone into computer via usb, hold home and power button until your phone turn off and quickly press and HOLD back button(if your phone is on). If it is not, just press back button and THEN plug it to computer KEEPING holding back button. After restoring you will have a new x10 mini=). Good luck.
P.S. sorry for my bad English

Hi all..
I was trying to root my device (using FlashTool), but after doing the step when you have to hold "Back" button and turn the device on (while FlashTool is still running), it just lost the ability to launch Android properly and instead it gets stuck on boot screen (black background with white "Sony Ericsson") and I'm not able to continue rooting my device afterwards..!
Any idea why? I did the same just yesterday and got the same problem ,so I had to restore system using SEUS tooll, but I still need to root my phone, any comment is welcome and thanks in advance for everybody..
I was following the instruction mentioned on this link:
www DOT xperiax10 DOT net/2011/09/08/root-your-gingerbread-xperia-x10-tutorial/#comment-31826
And my phone is running GingerBread.
I assume your phone is X10i (if it's X10a let me know)
1.- download stock generic firmware http://minus.com/mAla782XK/1f
2.- download and install flashtool http://androxyde.github.com/Flashtool/
3.- inside flashtool you'll find several folders, unrar your firmware (X10i_3.0.1.G.0.75_1241-1846.ftf ) inside firmware folder, do not connect your phone yet
4.- run flashtool and click on "flash" icon, pick flashmode, then OK
5.- On the left side select your firmware and hit OK (It will say "preparing files for flashing")
6.- A window giving you instruccions will pop up, just press and hold the back button on your phone, connect the USB cable (which is already connected to PC, of course ) and don't let go the button until you read flashtool started to flash
7.- wait 'till it finishes
8.- It will only take a few minutes, the only moment it seems it's stucked is when is flashing "system" , don't worry, it takes a little longer that the other files.
9.- after is done, just unplug, turn it on and wait, don't forget first boot always takes a little longer too!!!!!!
10.- If you want to, use flashtool to root your phone and install xrecovery afterwards, that's it, brand new
Hope it helps and is clear enough, any question just ask, I'm usually here.
Don't forget to hit "thanks" if I was helpful!!

I got that same problem when I tried to root my phone. Apparently I had forgotten to enable USB debugging on my phone before beginning the process..you can resolve it by clicking on flash in the flashtool and selecting kernel upgrade..your phone will boot after that. Then close flashtool and restart the process with USB debugging enabled. I did this and it worked for me
thank you very much
i did enable USB debugging and i repeated the process but unfortunately i faced the same problem i stuck on boot screen "black background with white "Sony Ericsson" text" i assumed that its default to stay on this screen for a while but i Waited for several minutes and nothing happened..
any idea why ? and what i have to do in order to root properly ?
thank in advanced.
Which version of flashtool r u using...
Xperia X10[LB, DoomV06-FS with FeraV19]
First upadate ur phone using SEUS..
Or(if the above don't work)
flash it using flashtool( put ur desired firmware in firmware folder and then flash)
Use the latest flashtool(0.7.1. something) just one click to root ur phone using this flashtool.
Click on the second folder from left(padlock) in flashtool.. Ur phone vl b rooted.
For installing xrecovery click on the second from right folder( plus symbol)
Take the desired one and install it..
When a door is closed definitely there will b another door in open..
For all first u should have COURAGE.

Relax. Be confident.
Restore your phone with SEUS first.
And then use this method to root your phone :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1319653
Other methods involve confusing things. While rooting through this method, remember a few things :
(1) make sure u have installed adb drivers for ur device
(2) enable "USB DEBUGGING"
from (Menu\Settings\Applications\Development)
(3) enable "UNKNOWN SOURCES"
from (Menu\Settings\Applications)
(4) make sure flashtool is not running in the background.
It'll root your phone with just one click.
Then you can download xrecovery through flashtool.

on the x10mini pro you have to press the back-button repeatedly to enter cwm, not volume down. My guess is you followed instructions for the 2011 Mini Pro (without x10 name) and not the 2010 x10 Mini Pro.

Use flashtool (found in the development part of this forum) for most phone operations, it will install xrecovery, but you can upgrade that to CWM via a flashable zip, or you can use RecoverX app, which you can also find there.
