CWM Backups Exchange

Does anyone have a CWM backup they made on a stock phone before flashing a P-ROM or theme?
I forgot to make a backup. But figure any backup from a similar Atrix should work.
Trading nandroid backups is dangerous..I have heard.
Nandroid backups are only good to restore to the SAME sbf that you are running, since they don't do a full system backup. If you do a CWM restore onto a different rom version than the one you backed up with, it will cause issues.
As far as trading nandroid backups............ain't gonna happen.
Nandroid backups contain personal information, such as account info and passwords and SHOULD NOT BE SHARED WITH ANYONE for that reason.
If you want to go back to stock, flash the sbf

Click to collapse
More than likely, your are trying to restore a system app (one of the original system apps from Moto...) The only way that I have ever been able to recover from a problem like this is to restore a nandroid backup... Your did do a nandroid backup BEFORE you went messing with the system, right???
If not, SBF is the only way out of your situation. If you haven't done either before, I have written a couple of tutorials: HowTo: Perform a SBF ("factory restore") of your Motorola Droid X2 and HowTo: Perform a bootstrap (or nandroid) backup and recovery of your Droid X2.
Remember, ask LOTS and LOTS of questions.
Ciao!
Ya I did actually end up restoring a nandroid....just....so tibu essentially just for user app backups....thanks for the info though...now I can stop thinking about how to fix it! Lol! Oh and fyi don't freeze/remove email engine, then you can't add events to your Google calendar....lol however they are related I have no idea...lol

Retrieving SMS/MMS from TWRP Backup File?

Howdy yall.
I just rooted, TB backup all my apps, lazypanda s-off, flashed TWRP recovery, backed up my stock set, then flashed MeanMike's 1.4 Rom. And I just finished getting it all how I like it.
I had a brainfart with all I needed to do, and forgot to back up my SMS/MMS and call log from TB while I was still on stock. So I'm wondering if anyone knows of a way to go inside my TWRP backup file, pull the SMS/MMS and Call-Log files, that way I can throw them in my current setup, instead of having to backup this new setup, wiping and restoring to my stock setup, then backing up the files I need using TB, then wiping and flashing back to my Mean 1.4 rom...
Any thoughts?
I think TWRP has the option of just restoring data. Look under the advanced menu.

Try an app called nandroid browser.
#Root-Hack_Mod*Always\=LTE
Titanium backup let's you pull from nandroid backups. Just hit menu and navigate to it. restore SMS once the file loads

Titanium backup

I did a full backup with titanium, factory reset then restore. The app did a great job. The only thing it didn't restore was my email accounts and home screen layouts. For future reference, is there a way to backup and restore these? I didn't back up all of the system files, just selected ones because I wanted to wipe as much as possible for a clean start.
