Looking for a good leather holster (horizontal or vertical) with a spring clip. I have thought about grabbing one for evo or 3vo, but worried because the Photon is a bit thicker. Anyone come across anything?
I'm using the leather horizontal holster for the 3vo and it works fine. Not spring loaded but that wasn't on my search criteria.
Cheers,

I had this one for my evo with extended battery and it still fits the photon just fine...it is great...hell it might even fit it with a case on. Not sure, just got my photon today

+1 i had the case too, it fitted my phone with a TPU case but its very big for my taste. you can probably fit the epic touch 4g in it with ease too lol

I'm surprised there are so few accessories out for this phone so far. I am usually able to find a holster and have it onhand before I have the actual phone, but not this time unfortunately. I got the one from Sprint for now that has the case and slide in belt holder but I strongly prefer the spring clips like the ones Seidio makes and bestbuy carries.
Has anybody been able to find a belt clip for the Photon yet aside from the one sprint has? i couldn't even find a generic one available at all. I'm so used to the spring clip holster that i've almost dropped my phone multiple times already
I'm currently using the Otterbox Defender and its a solid case that comes with an adjustable belt clip. Here is a link to the manufacturer's site: http://tinyurl.com/otterboxphoton

Put it in your pocket and not be a goober with a belt clip.
i modded (a peice of velcro) the innocase holster from my evo 4g and it fits great. I think it has to do with the fact the photon is taller than the evo 4g.

I find it inconvenient to remove it from my pocket 200+ times a day when i can just snap it in and out of a holster much quicker. So I'll keep on being a goober thank you. If i didn't use my phone a pocket would work awesome though.

So far I am liking the Sprint holster better than the spring clip one I had with my Epic. I broke a screen on my Epic because of the spring clip getting hit and the phone falling out. I don't see that happening with this case.
I'm also liking the sprint holster combo.... It fits in the hd dock with the holster on too!

I'm replacing that holster combo with an Otterbox Commuter, that stupid Sprint case doesn't protect the top or bottom of the phone. In my experience, the phone always ends up falling on uncovered parts head first, so I'm not going to chance it.
not to kick a dead kitten but does anyone know if this holster combo from sprint will fit in the docks with the shield on? there havent been any avail in local stores to test fit with them...
I have both the desktop dock and the car dock systems. If you have the Sprint case/holster combo, you remove inserts from the docks. If you use a "naked" Photon, keep the inserts in the docks. I really like these docks...they work really really well.
Can't wait for the "lapdock" to hit the market. That's gonna be sweet.
Over the years, I've grown to love the Seidio cases. My new Photon arrives on Monday and I'm not happy that Seidio has not made an Active Case/Holster combo for it yet.
Anyone using a good case & holster that you recommend? I'll probably start with the case & holster Sprint carries until I find something better. I have contacted Seidio and they said they will have cases soon but could not give a release date.
I'm in the exact same boat as you. Bestbuy sells the session cases under another name as well. Anyways seidio makes the best cases in my opinion. I emailed them as well last week and was told that they'd have them soon.

When you said "session" cases, did you mean Seidio or is that another company?
I really hope Seidio releases the Active Case and Desktop Charging Cradle soon! My 3VO looks phenomenal with its Active case.
How about both of us keep our fingers crossed!
I too, asked Seidio about it a few weeks ago. Maybe I'll drop 'em another Twitter hint to show that there's demand... ;-)

Sorry, I meant seidio but auto correction has something else in mind lol. But yeah best buy sells them under some performance wireless brand or something along those lines?

I also use Seidio. I'm using a TPU until they get some cases made.
The TPU cases look awesome but I need a belt clip and they don't come with one. Therefore, I bought the Sprint case w/ holster to tide me over until Seidio releases the Active case for the Photon.

True, but I'm glad they're making progress!
you can fit the photon in a evo clip holster. i use it daily i bought the motorola clip w/case one from sprint. their holster blows though the case works
If anyone is interested, Siedio says they are making the Convert case for the Photon but no idea on ETA.
I bought the official sprint case/holster, and found out it fits perfectly into the seidio Thunderbolt holster at Bestbuy using the sprint case. It feels very secure, no slop at all like when I tried the photon in the evo and other holsters. You are essentially buying 2 different holsters and piecing them together but it's a perfect fit. I'm still looking forward to the official seidio holster so i don't need a condom on my phone at all.

Seidio's are wack man, I had and active case for evo 4g and corners would break off every few weeks and seidio had the worst warranty ever, what a waste. Stick with otterbox commuter case its looks sweet, protects the best and not fat.
Whomever makes a Active/Commuter style case that actually fits in the MoPho Car Dock will definitely win this. It's probably a good thing Seidio waited a little bit, if they can accomplish this little feat......they're golden!!

I definitely has problems with the Seidio case for the Palm Pre. The tabs broke off repeatedly but the Pre's shape made it difficult for anyone to build a good case with a small footprint. Conversely, the Seidio's Active case for my 3VO is the AWESOME!!! If they make an Active case just as good as my 3VO's, I'll be a very happy camper!
can someone who has this case post a review on it, i just ordered mines on amazon, and i want to know if it will fit any of the old spring clip seidio holsters that i have laying around...
It most likely won't fit. Each phone has different dimensions and I tried my 3D on my evo holster and it was too big.

well actually my naked 3d with the extended battery fits the OG evo pring clip holster for the OG surface case. so if its like that im thinking that the extended active case will fit in the normal convert spring clip holster(fingers crossed)
I recently purchased the 4000 mah extended battery and a convert case and the convert works with my old EVO 4g rugged holster. Its not a perfect fit but close enough.
I bought the otterbox commuter for my new evolte because i thought the defender looked too big. Anyone know if there is a belt clip holster that will work with this case? I prefer to not carry the phone in my pocket.
I was wondering the same thing. I love this case, but need a clip. I'm going to email them tomorrow

I think your best options would be to try the seidio active or convert holders. I'm not sure that these will work, just merely giving suggestions to try to point you guys in the right direction. I'm using the diztronic tpu case and it works wonderfully with the seidio surface holster. Go to seidio.com and take a look. The surface is for minimal protection, the active is a little thicker with a slightly bigger holster and the convert offers the most protection which requires a bigger holster. They do sell the holsters separately. Also, they have a coupon code for 15% off and free shipping, I believe it Is dad2012 or something along the lines of that, Google it you will find it.
Wow sounds like an advertisement when re reading ha!

Here is some info I gathered for the various Seidio and Otterbox cases:
Seidio cases: I got this info directly from Seidio chat.
The ACTIVE case is : 5.5 x 2.9 x 0.6 inches
The CONVERT case is 5.8 x 3.2 x 1.8 inches
Otterbox cases: From otterbox website
Defender DIMENSIONS: 5.66 in x 3.08 in x .068 in
146.51 mm x 85.67 mm x 37.36 mm
Commuter case ??? still don't know, it is not posted on the website.
Judging by the info I gathered, is really hard to say which holster would "fit better" as I have no idea how the compatibility is and the dimensions are rather close. If you guys are able to get the dimensions of the Commuter, I think you can make a guess which holster would fit better. Good luck!
I am really curious as to what would work as well because when I got my evo 3d last year I had the exact same question. In the end I just went with a Surface combo and purchased a TPU case as back up. It Just to turned out that the TPU case fit perfect in the Seidio Surface holster. I liked the combo so much, I am doing the same for the Evo LTE, Diztronic TPU with Seidio Surface holster.

For wearing my phone at construction sites i've used this:
http://www.occidentalleather.com/product.php?sku=5068&type=
I modified it by lining it with neoprene. It is ugly and not stylish but will protect your phone short of it getting crushed. The inside is unlined leather so you may want to line it with something. It is very heavy duty and has lasted me since I bought the original EVO. Only reason I've bought another is due to the new evo not fitting with the defender case. Comes in black and brown.

I would just go with the defender combo. I am a mechanic and that's what I use. It's also not that bad on your belt not much more than the 3d. The seidio active is a good compromise for bulk and protection that's what I used on my 3d. I just like that the defender leaves the kickstand exposed.

I just bought the Mobo Carrera slim Horizontal case (for the Galaxy Nexus) and I have to say that I'm very happy with it. It fits the LTEvo nice and snug. The phone doesn't budge at all, especially when shaken vigorously. Also magnet doesn't come off when turned upside and shaken hard. The case is nice and slim to complement the slimness of the LTEvo. The interior is outlined in red leather (sort of complements the phone as well). The belt clip is made of metal (but covered in leather) and swivels but the swivel is rigid and doesn't move with little force with is good to me; stays in the position it is set to. Has the opening at the bottom to allow you to push the phone up to easily remove it.
If you are interested in a horizontal case, then this might be the one for you. Just google Mobo Carrera Horizontal case Galaxy Nexus; amazon has it here Mobo Carrera Horizontal Carrying Case. Other site sell it as well.
I bought 2 more slim cases and I'll write about them here as well when they come in this coming week.

Well I didn't keep the other two cases. One was too big for the LTEvo that the phone flopped around in the case. That was a killer for me, so I didn't even bother to give it another thought.
The other one is the one pictured below. It was a case for the Galaxy Nexus so it didn't really fit all that well. Don't get me wrong the case was well designed but the dimensions were just short of fitting the LTEvo. The LTEvo was hanging out of the case. If they make one specifically for the LTEvo, it would be worth investing in it.

If you don't mind my asking, what cases were the ones that were too big? Also do you think they'd fit the Evo with a silicone or TPU case on? Thanks!
Ditto to the above I like a gorm fitting holster but I never go out without a case. For work I use the Otterbox commuter with the seido active holster but for regular use, I use a thin TPU case. I have yet to find a holster that is thin and long enough to fit the phone with a TPU case.
