[HELP] HP help service is useless! Endless Boot Loops - TouchPad General

I recently purchased 2 touchpads, 1 one for me and 1 for my wife. Last night, my wife's Touchpad died and it will no longer work. It has been stuck in an endless boot loop since last night. The HP logo pops then the screen turns off and it just repeats that cycle over and over and over and over...
I am pretty techie but am brand spanking new to webOS. I have tried just about everything I could think of but nothing works. Can anyone out there help??
I would like to fix this myself and not have to send it to HP if possible.

can you list what you have tried?
webOS doctor is useful.

I've tried to reset (power and center button). I've tried to Doctor it. I've tried to do whatever combination of buttons I can think of. I've tried just using the charger and resetting. There is NOTHING that will work.

See if any of these methods help. Loading kernel over novacom helped me when I was tinkering.

Which kernel are you talking about?

I have this same issue.
I hadn't turned my phone on for about 2 weeks. I turned it on, it booted windows, I restarted and it just hung at the main booting screen. The numbers that show radio version and all of that never come up.
I've hard reset, I've gone into the boot loader without issue, I've soft reset a couple times -- no dice.
Any ideas?

3. problems get worse. At this stage it is possible to notice the 7 short vibrates at boot time if the phone is warm or kept in a warm environment. You don't have to push it very hard, it only needs to be warm. The vibration pattern is an error code made by the actual qualcomm chipset
can any help me i have the same issue HTC HD2 Vibrate 7times. I have HTC HD2 Tmobile
HTC HD2 Vibrate 7times. I have HTC HD2 Tmobile orange Poland locked
hello, do you have your stock rom somewhere?

Has there been a full brick yet from installing cm7?

Im really trying to figure out what the chances of permanant damage being done by installing cm7. It was extremly hard to get my touchpad and to lose it would be horrid. My question is has there been any confirmed bricks from installing cm7? If theres even one i will wait till its out of alpha cant break my tp.
If I'm not mistaken, webos doctor makes that nearly impossible.
edit: reboot was successful after a few tries
Houston, we have a problem.
I installed CM7 last night. Restored all my apps from phone and got it all set up. Rebooted a few times and it was working flawless. Plugged it into the charger and went to sleep.
Today, the device is dead.
Perhaps it's completely frozen, idk.
Holding power and home for 30 seconds didnt reboot it?

Well, w/e, it finally worked haha. Thanks. I had given it up for the time being lol.
There is a guy who has broken his Touchpad while installing CM. The Touchpad didn't had enough battery for completing the whole process, and it is just brick now. The guy made a post on XDA I don't remember where.

If it's the same one I saw, he followed it up by saying that holding power+menu brought it back after a charge.
Bricking requires overwriting something in partitions 1-12, which is let's just say difficult to do accidentally with cm's kernel.

Sony Tablet S - Stuck on Boot

Hey guys,
I am currently having an issue where my S1 gets stuck on the boot up screen. It seems to freeze on the "Sony" text before it gets to the boot animation and just stays there until I long press the power button to turn off. I tried the reset function first to no avail. Then I let the battery completely drain and recharge before I turned it back on and it still gets stuck in the same place. I have not rooted or done anything to it but download a few apps and a launcher. Two things I would like to avoid is doing a factory reset but more importantly avoid dealing with Sony and their warranty. Any help you all could provide would be appreciated!
Unfortunately you have only this two choices ...
Factory reset or Sony (dealer) warranty ...

I was having wifi issues after rooting and did a factory reset solving my problem. If you don’t have that many apps on your tab I'm pretty sure it will fix your problem. Since you haven't rooted your devise then you should be fine calling Sony tech support if the factory reset doesn’t fix the boot loop.
Thanks for your responses. I spent a lot of time setting up my home pages as hubs so this sucks!
Next question, does anyone know how to perform factory reset without booting up the device? I performed one when I first received it but went through the Settings. Since I cant get past the boot screen, I obviously cant do it that way.
factory data reset
with the tablet off you need to press and hold the volume + button and then press and hold the power button. keep holding both buttons and when you see the sony logo release the power button only. once you get the android system recovery mode you release the volume button and use the volume + and - to navigate the menu and quickly press the power button to make a selection. before you do the reset try this: access the recovery mode and select restart and cancel, your tablet might boot normally.

If you are unable to enter stock recovery I would think you will probably have to contact Sony. Even if you have adb I don’t think you would be able to do anything because your devise is not rooted. Someone correct if I am wrong.
I believe you are right.
I was unable to get the tablet into recovery using the method stated above. I get to the Sony screen (as always) but when I release the volume button the tablet turns off. Now I have to deal with Sony. Crap! What are the chances they replace it under warranty when I bought it off ebay?

Call them and play dumb. Tell them that you received it as a gift and you weren’t sure where it was purchased from. It’s worth a shot.

My Solution
I just had this problem, what I did was..
when on the Sony logo I took out my SD card>unplugged power>did a hard reboot>waited about 30sec>then powered the tablet on and it booted normally.
I hope this was somewhat helpful
My Tablet have the same issues. It goes to Sony Service Center. I think is a shame for Sony, because the tablet is 8 months old. That is not quality.

Have you tried using a paper clip and reset yet? Worth a shot before staying on hold with Sony.

Vibrant Wont stay on

ok so my (edit) *Vibrant is not booting up...
I press the power button, the vibrant turns on, logo pops up, boot animation, Tmobile animation and galaxy s animation plus sound all happened, The phone gets to the lock screen and within 3 seconds just shuts down.
Anyone know what could be wrong.
Phone is stock, neither romed or rooted. is this a battery issue, hardware or software
Does it boot up when you have it charging? And which phone is it, the Vibrant or the Captivate? Those are 2 different phones.

If you can boot into stock recovery/download mode, just do a factory reset or flash the stock rom using odin

Maybe you have a defective bootloader or phone. If it's still under warranty, just bring it back to T-Mobile and exchange it.
was trying to fix a vibrant for a friend of mine with a very similar problem
after many hours of work w/ odin & attempting to flash different things.. i concluded that it was hardware related bc i made it all the way to stock but it would just shut down randomly
does it give any sort of message when it shuts off? or just goes black?
have you dropped it a lot?

im starting to think its hardware related as well. at time when i boot into stock recovery the battery logo just shows up, the android man with the the exclamation point. idk if up to a certain level of currect is drained the battery shorts out. how can i possibly test the battery??
There is no message or anything... as soon as it boots up to the lock screen it just goes black.
i just acquired this phone. I have a HTC Glacier that i use for my everyday. this used to be my friends old phone and it started doing this, he just got another one and gave me this said if i could fix it i could have it to mess around with. as far as i know it hasnt experienced much rough and tough life. on the outside it looks almost brand new.
So I bought a brand new battery and the vibrant won't even charge the new battery...

sorry to revive this but did you try cleaning the battery contacts?

Help? I may have bricked an old Samsung S2...

Was using ancient gt 19100 one day when it crashed. I use the device mainly at night, so I decided oh well, and went to sleep. The next night, it wouldn't start up. I knew something was up because the boot animation was the default CM11 one, and I had a custom one. It never started up. I looked it up, and it seemed to be in a "boot loop". Now, I've never messed with these things because it was my brother's old phone, and there was still some things we needed on that phone, so no resetting. I've also never messed with... "flashing", because my brother did all that junk. I got into recovery once and tried wiping cache, but I don't think it worked.
Can someone help me out? I'm having trouble sleeping at night without it...
