I didn't have to do anything specific to make it work. It worked out of the box.

CM7 internal/external sd reading

Hi everyone,
I'm running CM7 Atrix CM Ba2tF non nightly build. I migrated over from gingerbread 2.3.6 and I'm unable to read my micro sd card when connected to the usb.
I've searched and followed the instructions telling me to go in to cm7 application settings and choose 'use internal storage' but this doesn't resolve the issue at all.
I don't want to have to switch back to gingerbread but I've been searching and found no solution that works. Please advise.
Ted.
Hello.
You need to scroll down your notification bar, select the USB notification and select "Memory card access", by default it's set to charge only and many people over look that.
What you did with the option to use internal storage is unrelated to this, It simply changes the mount points for the internal and external SD cards.
Thanks for the response. I had forgot to mention that I've done that as well, the only drive that shows up as readable/writable is the internal flash of the phone, still making the external sd unreadable *shrug*

Can you access it from the phone it self? (Just making sure)
Have you partitioned the card via the recovery? Apps2sd or data2sd stuff, basicly is the file system on the card vfat or ext?
Can you access the card using a memory card reader?
Would you consider formatting the card (using the option in settings > storage) ?

Did you reboot the phone after selecting "Use Internal Storage"

I can access the card and its contents through file explorer. I did not partition the card through recovery, I had originally formatted it as fat32. I temporarily re-loaded the bell gingerbread recovery and the sd read just fine again.
I could reformat the card again, I'll just back up it's contents using my sd card reader.

If the format doesn't work then it could have been a bad flash. Backup everything like you were planning to and download the rom from the internet again just to be sure and re-flash.

Why do you want to re-name the SD card?
Unmount and remount the SD card, perhaps? Or format via recovery, if rooted?
Is it SDXC or SDHC?
SDXC might cause problems sometimes - exFAT, FAT32 and all that jazz.

I think you need to read this from Chainfire: www.chainfire.eu/articles/113/Is_Google_blocking_apps_writing_to_SD_cards_/

You have to mount the sd card to get the media scanner to read the sd card.
Settings>storage>sd card>mount sd card.
Mount or unmount and mount to force the scan.

I can't mount sdcard

Help me please. I can't mount and format sd card.

Try to mount it in your computer. If it does not get recognized there either, you need a new SD-card.
I have a new SD card which my Wickeyleak Whammy doesn't read. Any solutions?

[Q] External SD card not detected on PC

Hi,
I am using the cyanogenmod 11 v0.8. I have an external SD card which was working fine on the stock ROM. I can access the external SD card on my device but cannot access it on my computer (linux). The internal SD card is available on the computer. What should I do? Something wrong with the type of filesystem on SD card?

I used Titanium Backup to move all the apps to internal memory and then did a reboot. However the status is the same
