those 4 keys always vibrate, cannot turn them off. If you use third party applications your vibrate for the phone calls and reminders will stop working too.
No you cannot. I have found that the only way to do this is to have the phone rooted and install Streak Vibrations and use that.
That globally disables all vibrations from the phone.

Hi,
as the title already says, my phone vibrates during calls. It happens about 1 time per minute (but doesnt seem to be a minute counter!) and i've got no Idea, why this keeps happening!
Do you have the same effect (vibrating) as i do?
What is this "feature" about?
How can i stop it from happening?
Thank you,

till now I found three vibration settings used for different apps / situations etc, for example message notification vibration, soft key feedback etc-
To turn off Notification vibrate: Messaging > Menu key > Settings > Untick Notification vibration
To turn off Ringtone vibrate: Settings > Sound > Vibrate > Never
To turn off the vibrating when tapping the screen: Settings > Sound > Untick Haptic Feedback
Thanks.
I found these three settings too but none of them explains why it vibrates during calls... Only explanations I could think of is that I touch the screen by mistake...
Does anyone have similar behavior of his phone and can contribute to this?

if the proximity sensor working the screen should turn off when your face is near, therefore no accident touching the screen. could it be the other buttons being touched by accident? the volume buttons, camera, home, back, and menu buttons...
Its definitely not the camera or volume button but I kepp it under surveillance... Maybe i'm touching the back or menu key by accident...
Thanks for the answers!

Bzzz
hehe I've tried something a little more funky: I had a call a few days ago, and the vibrator started buzzing as soon as i drew the phone close to my face and the closer the harder it buzzed
I had to hold the phone at 2-4 centimeters to be able to hear what was being said over the vibrator
It haven't happened again, but then I've also "repaired" the phone with SEUS to see if that helped with receiving calls in the first place(screen didn't respond on several calls).
I have had this happen a few times too, no idea what it is though?! lol
It keeps happening sometimes, but not as much as before... I guess it was related to touching the softkeys!
I changed haptic feedback to off and it doesnt viabrate at all now

Mhm but this indicates touching the Display and NOT thouching the soft keys, right?

Haptic feedback includes the capacitive buttons.

Im running stock 2.3.4, but I had this issue with custom ROMs too.
The only time my phone vibrates is for phone calls on silent.
I have it set to always vibrate, and in the messaging app I have vibration turned on.
I know this is a decently common issue, but any solution I've found won't work.

My sound toggling button (the one when you pull down the notifications) no longer works. Whenever I try to press it, it won't go to silent or vibrate mode. It only goes to sound on all the time.
Anyone know a solution?
Anyone know?

Been using this very nice phone for a couple of weeks now and loving it. Got checkrom v4 on it and it is running nice, with one issue.
I use silent mode when I am at work, so as not to annoy my office mates, with it coming on automatically using tasker. When I leave it is turned off, and audible selections is activated in the settings even though it was of before entering silent mode. Does this happen normally our have I stuffed something up in tasker? If it happens normally is there a way of preventing this?

I don't use tasker but not sure about that but when I put the phone on silent the touch tones remain silent.
You may also want to go into settings / sounds and lower the system volume which also lowers that. I find that the stock touch volume is too high.

Hmm maybe I phrased it wrong. I have the audible selections unchecked before I put silent mode on, then silent mode comes on, and they stay unchecked, but when silent mode turns off they become checked again. Its not a big deal to uncheck it but it just annoys me (yea I know first world problem!)
Might see if I can turn down the stock volume to minimal for this and see if it makes a difference, probably the simple solution to the issue (can live without touchtones on the dial pad).
