I am currently using xperia mini st15i
2.3.3 build number 4.0.A.2.377
And this happens sometimes with my phone
When someone calls me I cannot slide the slide bar to answer or reject calls.
This is happening since I brought my phone a few days back.
And I also updated my phone and the problem persists.
Pls help....
Check if a software repair via PC Companion can solve the problem.
In PCC go to Support Zone > Software update > Repair
(Do this while phone is not plugged in via USB)
If that doesn't help, I suggest that you talk to your retailer. See if you can have a replacement or if it needs to be sent for service.

This is my first incursion into Android, so apologies if it's a basic question/has already been answered elsewhere (not that I could find it via search):
I have somehow lost the vibrate function
I have been installing quite a few apps & have rooted the phone, as befits my first contact with Android , also I conected via PC connect to the update service, and it downloaded an (outdated) update.
It may well have been while trying different profile managers - but despite enabling vibrate in the system menu, and in the profiles of the current profiles app I'm using (called Profiles), no joy.
All suggestions gratefully received
Tia.
responding to the onslaught of concerned posters
having got into the service menu, it seems the vibrate function is not working.
Doing some serious googling on the subject, this appears to be a RELATIVELY COMMON issue with this terminal - so be aware.
(mine has disappeared into SE technical service for a couple of weeks to get repaired)
What happened with yours? Did it get fixed? Anything we can do to fix it ourselves?
maybe try repair it with PC Companion.

You canĀ“t fix hardware failure with software update, mate.
Hi i have a big problem with my xperia mini,
i runs great for 3 weeks now sine i bought it,
but suddenly the touchscreen and the back&home button didn't give any respond,
i tried to restart by taking off battery, and i didn't solve the problem
i tried to flash it with stock firmware .368, it also didn't solve it
is this hardware issues or what? any suggestion before i take it to SESC?
As most of the other users who have this problem, it's a hardware issue. Really, after 3 weeks, before you have this problem?
I have the same unit st15i and only a day before reaching 3-weeks. Hoping I won't have this problem.
What color is your unit and model made? (you can check it after you remove the battery) mine is 11w31m
Sony ericsson Xperia mini not working
Hi,
My sony ericsson Xperia mini is having same issue, touch screen is not working and not able to switch off the mobile and applications are not starting when i click on application icon.
Did you get any fix for your issue ? please help me to fix the issue.
Try to repair the software with PC Companion. Click on Support Zone > Start > Repair phone. Just follow the on-screen instructions from here on.
If this won't fix your problem you need to have the phone handed in for repair at a service center unfortunately.
Call the local support team for more info on this (service location etc.).

Check the post in general information about the touchscreen solution using a script. You will need a rooted stock Rom.
old issue, upgrading your st15i to ics will solve it,it's just a bug in it's firmware
Dear XDA developers & Friends,
I have Sony Sk17i Mini Pro and my Back camera is showing a Black screen and it says Sony encountered a problem and it closes on its own.
I did a update to Android 4.0 from my WIFI connection but still this problem persists.
Please provide a solution.
Thanks & Regards,
Sal
There's no such thing as OTA update for ICS. You have to use PC Companion, as far as I know. We can't tell you what happened if you don't give us the right information.
Sir,
My front camera is working fine but as soon as I switch to back camera, a black screen comes and all the icons on the screen become disabled.
I had tried to update using PC companion but net kept disconnecting so I did update directly from phone and I am now on Android 4.0.
Please help me rectify the problem.
Please
Let me repeat that, I've never heard of the chance to upgrade via OTA. You'll have to wait for someone else's help, since I don't know what you are talking about. I'm sorry.

Uhm..PC Companion uses the WiFi to make the update...
To OP: Try Repair option in Update Service.
but he said he updated the sofware "directly from phone".

You mean you can connect the phone to your PC via WiFi and upgrade to ICS? I don't really think so, since the whole ROM will be erased and then ICS will be flashed... how can the WiFi connection be stable meanwhile?
I missed the second post from the OP...
Once again, repair with Update Service.
Oh, and WiFi hotspot is stable, I used it while on a trip(when I still had my LWW).
You used WiFi hotspot while upgrading the phone?

try to install a custom rom
or any tweaks that may help:fingers-crossed:
or maybe the problem is not from the phone [just try ur sim-card on a nokia device]
In other phone like Nokia, Sim is working correctly. Also other settings adjustment don't help.
Are installing custom ROM need to unlock bootloader or all work with locked bootloader. Because I don't want void warranty rules.
That happens sometimes to me too, but I live in Costa Rica and we have a crappy telecomunications system, so I've always assumed that's the cause
Hi,
I bought a new Sony Xperia Z2 and installed whatsapp on it. In the beginning there were no issues, but eventually, while using whatsapp the phone started freezing and everytime I have to hard shutdown inorder to get the phone back online to work normally. This only happens when I use whatsapp. I even tried uninstalling and reinstalling the application. Is there a way to overcome this issue? Please suggest a work around. Thanks in advance.:crying::crying:

this sounds like a framework issue
try repairing your device via sony pc companion
Also, I tried using the pc companion to repair the phone. It started working much better till I installed whatsapp again, that the freezing started again. Is there any way to know what is causing the problem? Any suggestions on how to tweak the software to prevent it from occuring once again. Please advice

It seems that nobody else has come with such an issue or it's relatively new that nobody has an answer to, yet!!
Could you let me know, if possible, whether a sim card would have anything to do with this issue? I contacted the service centre and they asked me to change my sim card and check. As I have also mentioned that I have already tried repairing the phone using PC companion. Any suggestions/advices are welcome.
Thanks...
