[Q] PLEASE HELP!!! Gmail not syncing. - Motorola Droid X2

I have had a problem where Gmail is not sending any messages or syncing with the server. When I mark all the messages as read, and I open up the web gmail, they are still unread. I have the stock ROM, GB, Rooted and have installed a script to speed up the phone. No other mods or hacks. Please help...

Do you use the power widget? If so, did you happen to turn off sync on it? It's the icon that looks like two arrows in a circle. If you turn that off, it will cause what you are describing.

best bet, uninstall gmail, clear cache, reinstall. That's worked for me in the past.

[Q] Cannot remove facebook or yahoo accounts from motoblur

For some reason I am unable to remove facebook or yahoo accounts from the motoblur accounts section in my phone. When I go to accounts and try to remove them the user names for the accounts are blank and grayed out and will not let me change or enter anything. It also will not allow me to hit remove and remove the accounts. This is happening on 2 yahoo accounts and a facebook account. Is their a cache or data I can clear to allow me to remove these and start fresh? Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I had that problem, sbf fixed it.
Does anybody have an easier way?

I had to factory reset in order to get rid of my twitter account.
It's a pain in the ass to get rid of them once you put them in.
Thanks for the responses. I think I am going to try the factory reset today or tomorrow and see if that works in helping me remove the ghost accounts. I also happen to have the random reboot problems (3 times a day) and hope that it will help with that issue as well. When I am done will have to re-root, regingerblur and reinstall all apps lol so it should be pretty fun.
Is flashing sbf 1.26 same as doing factory reset through phone? Or are they different?
Thanks
There is a 1.83 sbf floating around the.forums which may be better to flash instead.
You can use the 1.26 but good ole moto says don't if you are already on 1.83 as it changed the format on the phone.

I can't seem to delete them either, they're sucking up battery life by syncing all day.
Has anyone found a method other than SBF?

Gmail - Emails won't send?

Hoping someone can help me out. For the past couple of weeks, I haven't been able to send emails out using the Gmail app. I can compose, attach, save....but when I go to hit the send button, or choose send from the menu, the button grays out instantly and nothing sends. Doesn't even go to the outbox.
I've read around the forums for the TB and other devices having the same issues and tried all of the tips. I've wiped app data, app cache, uninstalled all updates, uninstalled the .apk, reinstalled from the market. None of those potential solutions have worked for me . Sync works fine.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
EDIT: it's happened on multiple roms, so I know that isn't the issue.
Thank God!
Sorry...I am just happy I am not the only person dealing with this.
I am experiencing the EXACT same thing. I was just about to post everything you did...plus
I cleared all drafts from GMail. I cleared all sent mail from Gmail. I have tried unistalling and reinstalling gmail. I have tried serveral different methods for restoring everything....
- skipping setup and turning off auto-restore and auto sync restoring everything with TiBu
- skipping setup and turning off auto-restore and auto sync restoring everything with MyBuPro
- skipping setup and turning off auto-restore. Signing in to google letting sync complete including apps. Then waiting 15 mins...rebooting and manually restoring only my missing user apps via TiBu.
- loaded the 2.11.605.3 rooted and deodexed but otherwise stock RUU posted in the deveopment forum and still it happened after restoring all my apps.
Everytime...I think I have it beat...but within a day...NOPE! No sending again.
At first I thought it was restoring the apps...BUT
What is F'n strange is that it does not break as soon as the restore is finished. In fact I make sure to email myself at another email address each step of the way to make sure if I can identify where I am going wrong. Each time everything is fine at first.
It is usually between a few hours and a day when Gmail stops working.
This last time I noticed that the gmail app updates itself when I am done...even if I make sure not to in my restore. But I immediately sent myself an email to that address and it worked. Then several hours later...it was broken again.
Not sure if this is related...but I noticed that gmail duplicates that address in the drop down after it breaks. What I mean is that when I type the first few letters of my name....all my emails show up....but each only once. But after it breaks ... the email I sent the tests too shows up in that list twice.
This is the most maddening thing I have ever dealt with in my 3 years of owning some rooted droid or another.
I am tempted to just unroot and restore to stock...and pray that it goes away and does not plague me ever again after 11.11.11
Return to stock and see if the problem persists. If it does call up verizon, explain to them what is happening, may be a problem with the phone, not sure how, but just maybe.
I assume this is the best way?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1009423
So I tried wiping and loading a fresh install...and only reinstalled a few of the most vital and used apps.
Have had no problem for 3 days. So clearly it was a bad app causing this. I will experiment this weekend to see if I can figure out which one.
I've had this problem come and go, but telling Titanium Backup to wipe the data for the GMail app always fixes the issue for me.
Can you wipe data of primary gmail address? What happens then - does it take you to the startup screen to sign into gmail from scratch?

It just does it for the whole app... So basically all 4 of my GMail accounts had no messages on the phone until the app successfully synced with GMail. Sending normally works fine after that.
I'll try that next time. Thanks

[Q] Receiving "Sync is currently experiencing problems"

Hi guys,
I just noticed recently that my DNA is giving me this error under accounts and sync. It seems like this may be a wide spread issue for all types of Android phones, but I was wondering if anyone else was seeing this. The strange this is that it looks like everything is synced properly, and even when I drill down into the actual items that are syncing, there are no errors. I'm not sure if it is the rom that I am on (UKB), but I would really like to clear it up if possible. I have tried deleting the data in Apps for the various items listed, but this does not seem to help. I even booted into recovery and cleared the cache, to no avail.
Thanks guys,
Steve
Alright, I just did a full wipe, installed UKB 1.3 with Cubed stock kernel, and I am still getting that sync error. Is anyone else seeing this?
I have had this issue on CODIS, UKB and the battery plus ROM
It syncs everything fine, but it does show a red sync icon and say its experiencing problems. I've just learned to deal with it as everything still works fine.
--removing and re-adding my google account does nothing
--unchecking each option (calendar, contacts, gmail etc.) one by one to see if a particular causes the problem,...does nothing to help
Just wanted to letyou know you are not the only one with the issue.
I'm having the issue where the gmail app syncs fine but if I read/delete emails and go back to my computer, all the changes I did on my phone didn't sync with my computer browser. Anyone know how to fix that?

I had that issue. Uninstalling and reinstalling gmail app from the market fixed it for me.

Ah, thanks for the replies guys. At least I'm not the only one . At least it's not in your face screaming at you, so I can learn to ignore it.
I'm having the sync issues myself, and I'm even on full stock ROM. Just wanted to let you know. My account is on two-step authentication - are other people also using two-step? Common denominator?

I believe that is the problem. I had an error in Google Internet sync. I fixed it by going to Google dashboard on my computer and clicking "Websites authorized to access the account." Go down to Application Specific Passwords.
Install the Google Authenticator on the DNA. Then register it by generating a new application specific 12 digit password. The Authenticator app will then generate the six digit codes you'll need when asked to be able to sync your bookmarks in the browser or sign in the Google search homepage. Anyway it worked for me.
For me it was Facebook calendar that couldn't sync. I unchecked it and the error went away. It looks like it can be any part of any of your accounts that will trigger that message. If you go into each one, it will show which one is having the problem.

[Q] Razr Maxx not syncing all my Google Calendars

I have two devices that sync with my Google Calendars (all under one Google account of course). The problem I am having is certain entries of certain calendars are not syncing to my Razr at all. When i check on my computer on the website, everything is there. My Second device, which is the Xyboard 10 inch, is setup the exact same way as the Razr is for my calendars, and everything shows up with no issues. Only my Razr is having this problem. I've tried clearing the data for the calendar, I've checked all the settings to make sure every calendar is synced, I installed business calendar and it is doing the same thing as the stock calendar. I even went so far as to hard reset my Razr, the first thing i setup was the calendar with nothing else on it, and it STILL will not sync all of my calendars correctly. What could be happening here? Please someone help!
Appreciated!
Are they ones not showing up by any chance set up as "private"?
Those will only sync to the device they were made on I think.
My first choice was clear data. But I see you did that. I am on JB and actually have three items that can be cleared. Calendar, Calendar Storage, and Google Calendar Sync. Did you clear all? Calendar also has a cache that can be cleared.
I think cache clearing is what fixed it on my old phone when I had this problem.

Yup that is one of the first things i checked, They are all set to default. and have no issues showing up on my Xyboard. But for some reason they are not showing up on my Razr. For Example. One of my Calendars is " my work schedule " ... My lunch break for one day is showing up. but other entries like meetings are not showing up at all on my Razr. I go over to my Xyboard and EVERYTHING is showing, Same on my laptop. I'm not sure what is going on with it. Thanks for the help!
I did a factory reset.

I have as well, and before anything else i checked my calendars. and it was still doing the same thing
I was able to fix it! For some reason no matter what i did, clear cache, wipe data, confirm calendars weren't private, confirmed all were visible and set to sync, even hard reset, none worked. So I used Titanium backup to uninstall the stock calendar app, then i cleared the calendar storage and installed Google calendar from the market. Once that was done they all started showing up again. When i did all these steps before i didn't remove the stock calendar and it still wouldn't sync correctly. So i'd say something was out of sorts with the stock calendar.

[Q] Contacts Force Close [process com.motorola.contacts]

Hi, I have a Motorla Photon 4G and I'm with Sprint if this is needed, but I tried to call someone yesterday and noticed it didn't want to and force closed. I noticed it after I was deleting a bunch of old pictures on my phone and had some applications update, and installed a new one too. It's not rooted, and I don't mess with the files internally, so what should I do? I noticed some other threads had something to do with Yahoo contacts or something like that, but I don't meddle with Yahoo at all on my phone, or on the computer.
My brother and sister both have the same phone too, and they don't get this problem.
Thanks.
Back up all data and try a factory reset.

Same problem here Dean.
Let me know if you find a solution.
The new update from the Hotmail app to Outlook did the same to me. Once I uninstalled Hotmail, my contacts came back.
Thanks for saving me from factory reset
