I bought a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 on September 13 in the USA. It is a 32 GB WiFi model. And it was shipped to India and I opened it on the 1st of October.
This is what happens:
I can switch on the device
The Home screen appears.
And without me doing anything or if I try to explore any of the widgets the screen goes off and then comes back again to the Home Screen itself. All within 15 seconds.
And if I try to press the camera option it say "Please turn off USB storage before using the camera function"
I tried to meddle with the settings( all within 15 the seconds as it again shuts off and goes to the start home screen) but to no avail.
But I'm able to shut down the device.
Buddies it is a brand new device , I did not even register myself , no data loaded , nothing at all. I think it is some software glitch.
Since it is an imported piece they say it cannot be serviced in India.
HELP ME
Can you get into recovery and try a factory reset? If that doesn't help, try to install firmware with Odin.
I tried doing a factory reset....did not work. But what's there to reset it's a brand new piece. And how can I install stuff without being able to even register my google ID?????
Try flashing CWM recovery through Odin and then flash any stock ROM. It may work.
PM me if you want any help in this.

Hi everyone,
I'm sorry if ever I'm posting this on the wrong section cause I'm not sure if this is a problem from android or samsung.
I'm not good at all when it comes to phone troubleshooting so I will try my luck and ask questions about what have happened to my phone just awhile ago. I got this phone from Japan(Samsung Galaxy SII Wimax isw11sc) months ago and I only use it for multimedia purposes as it is region locked and I am at another country atm. everything is running fine until my phone asked for a software update(not really sure what upgrade that was) and I decided to give it a shot and let it download the updates. I left it to do some chores and when I came back to check on it, it reboot looped itself on the AU(mobile phone company from japan) logo.
I did some research and found some things like hard reset and download mode. I tried to do the hard reset(power/home/volume up) method but I can't seem to access the settings instead, the phone keeps on showing me this "Preparing for S/W update. Please wait." after a few seconds, the phone will reset itself back to the reboot loop.
I tried to do the download mode using odin mode but then, I realized that my phone and computer won' connect via USB port because well, my phone won't boot. Also downloaded the manual driver but my pc won't recognize it.(win7 if that helps.)
Please tell me what have happened and what I can do to fix this problem, I don't really care if i lose everything that I have stored on my phone, I just want it to work again. Help will be much appreciated, Thank you.
Hi Everyone,
First of all I would like to apologize, if I am repeating any question. I tried many threads but I couldn't understand completely. Hence I am afraid I need to ask individually. Hope thats fine with the community.
So, I own a Samsung Galaxy SII since last 27 months. I bought it with Orange on a contract in France and the company unlocked it many months ago since I do not live in France anymore. I have never flashed the phone with any other ROM, or provided root access or anything else. I have always used Kies to update the software. If I remember correctly the phone currently has Jelly Bean on it (4.1.2 I think). It doesn't have any external SD card, just the internal memory.
Due to some unknown reason, since yesterday the phone is not able to boot up. Its stuck at "Samsung GALAXY S II GT-I9100" screen. I tried to used Volume up+Home+Power keys to go into recovery mode which is not possible. I also tried to go in Download mode using Volume down+Home+Power keys which is possible. Then I tried to connect with Kies to connect it but after 15-20 mins Kies gives error in recognizing the device. When I open ODIN 1.85 (I guess that is the version which should work with my phone), it does shows "Added" status for the device.
Now after reading many posts I have realized that restoring to stock rom would resolve the issue, but it still dint for many. What is appropriate way to deal with this problem. I found some stock rom on the page of mobile network comparison webpage , but I am not sure if I should use it or not. Also I am afraid if I should check the region/model etc for this. I guess I should only install ROM which lies in France-Orange category.
I do not care about any data since I back up my phone from time to time. But I do not wish to play around with the phone much, unless required. However I would appreciate if there is any way to restore the contacts and message stuff.
Thank you very much for your help and support. I highly appreciate the effort.
Hello people,
I am wokring on an international verson of Galaxy S3 GT-I9300 of a friend of mine.
His devise freezed at the Galaxy S 3 logo at the beginning and couldn't go any forward.
He took it to a guy that repairs phones and he told him that it's a hardware problame and needs 150 euro to fix it.
So i asked him if he wants me to give a try and see if it's not a hardware problem.
Anyway i will give you as many details as possible to tell me what you think.
As i said before its GT-I9300, no root, unbranded, but i am not sure about the firmware. Most probably it's at 4.3. No SD card.
The phone starts only until the Galaxy S 3 logo and freezes there.
When i press the power button the phone shuts off but then immediately reboots by itself but again freezes at the Galaxy logo.
I do have access to both recovery and download mode so i believed that i could do something but unfortunately so far nothing.
I have tried to do factory reset but during the process it reboots. I wiped succesfully the dalvic cache and the battery stats but i cannot do factory reset.
I also tried through Kies to do emergency recovery but again during the process it tells me that there is an error with the phone and couldn't go forward.
Then i tried with Odin to root the phone. I have found the correct PDA file (i think) and again started the process but i got FAIL.
Then i tried with custom roms. I have put 2-3 custom roms that i had on my pc. I trasfered them on an external SD card and tried to install them through Recovery mode. The process starts ok and allows me select the options of the installation but at the point where it tries to wipe the data it stops and automatically reboots.
I have tried to install the custom rom without full wipe but again it stops and reboots.
I browsed in a lot of sites but i haven't found anything else so far that could save this phone.
So i open to any suggestions you may have.
Is it really hardware issue?
It's strange though because the phone starts up to a point and i have access on both recovery and download mode.
Thank you very much in advance.
it seems hardware problem....
Hi xda-team,
every night I've connected my tablet to the power supply, but one morning I found it unresponsive. I pressed the power button for a longer time and was surprised to see, that the tablet was shut down (the battery loading image was visible). So I pressed power again and it seemed to start up. But unfortunately it kept displaying the Samsung logo for hours. I hold the power again a long time to make a reset and tried again to start up the tablet. Same result.
Now the point is, it would be quiet easy to do a factory reset, wipe all data and I'm sure, it would come back to live. A few years ago I even had to reinstall the original ROM via ODIN to make it work again, but it worked again. So I think I have some experience to get the tablet back to live.
But now the thing is a bit difficult in that way, as I would like to recover two documents and some photos to my PC. This tablet has no SD card, and the images weren't uploaded to Picasa / Google+.
I think I heard about some ROM addon that could be installed onto the tablet, so that is possible to connect the PC to it (even if it isn't booted up) and get all data from the device, but I'm not sure, if this is correct.
My tablet is a Galaxy Tab 10.1 (GT-P7500), 16 GB an it has the Original ROM installed. I remember, the ROM is an european version and initially started up in dutch.
Thanks for all your help in advance
Ralf
Hello everybody,
I - Problem description
I have been experiencing a problem with my Samsung Galaxy S4 (GT-I9515). The latter turned off and didn't want to start up again.
Two days ago, as I was using my phone, it went off. When I tried to start it again, by pressing the power on button, it just showed the Samsung Logo and then went off again. I have tried several times switching it on, but in vain, it just shows the logo and goes off, yet sometimes it goes with the start up a little bit further by giving the start up sound and the next logo, but then it just goes off again.
II - Solutions tried
1- I have tried a few options I found on the internet, such as formatting the device by means of a pressing the Home key, the Volume up and power on button. However, the problem seems to persist.
2- I have lately tried to flash the device by Odin3, but even the flash did not solve the problem.
After having downloaded a number of firmwares and trying them on the phone, it still didn't work.
At first, I used to download, by mistake firmwares concerned with the GT-I9505 version, and the flash did not pass; however, later I knew that I had to use GT-I9515 firmwares as they are the ones that match with the device, so the flash would pass, but still the phone would not work.
Actually, firmwares I find on the internet seem to be always accompanied with regions/countries, hence one should know the region/ country of his phone to download a specific firmware that would work on the phone, nonetheless, I could never know to what region/country I should download the firmware, as my phone certainly does not belong to the country where I live, as it is imported from abroad.
Unfortunately, even the white sticker under the battery on the phone, does not seem to belong to it, rather it has obviously been changed by another one. So, I can never know the exact data of my phone so I would download the right firmware.
III- Questions:
1- Do you think that flashing the device with the right firmware would solve the problem?
2- Is there any possibility that I can know information about my device, knowing that it does not turn on, and the sticker under the battery has been replaced with another one that does not belong to the phone?.
3- What other solutions can I try to fix the issue?
Thank you for you time, help and coordination.
