[Q] HSPL/RSPL installation error - 7 Mozart General

While trying to install HSPL/RSPL in Mozart (as described in http://www.htc-developers.de/viewtopic.php?f=275&t=6159) first there was an error message. After that the connection between the phone & computer was disrupted. Now the computer cannot recognize the phone in the bootloader mode - i.e. there is no USB connection displayed on the screen. So the ROMUpdateUtility cannot access the phone at all. Is there any way to restore the USB connection in the bootloader mode?
Thanks a lot in advance.

You are in the bootloader mode. just disable the usb connection, connect the device (in bootloader mode) and execute the upgrade utility. You are more likely to succeed when you upgrade in bootloader mode.

need help recovering my 8525...

i tried to install the latest At&t ROM and i got an error asked me to try and recover it but when i try to recover it it still give me an error message and now my phone is stuck on the bootloader screen it says IPL-1.00 SPL-1.40.Olipro can someone please help me get this out of bootloader mode...i tried reseting it or tried other ROM's but nothing will work....TIA
i can't even get my pc to recongnize that my 8525 is connected to the USB port....
EDIT: I got my PC to see my 8525 by unchecking the USB connections in ActiveSync....
I think this is a crosspost from the HardSPL receovery thread, so I will just answer it here.
Manually put phone in bootloader mode.
Plug into USB
Run RUU to start ROM install
Manaually select your SPL version
Ignore warning in red letters on next screen
Flash away.
(Do not mix up the first two steps - put in bootloader, THEN plug into USB)
If this does not not work, use SD Card flashing method.

How do I flash from bootloader?

I am trying to flash from the bootloader to recover from an installation error on my Fuze. I've entered into the tricolor bootloader screen by holding down Vol.down and reset. Now, when I plug the phone into the computer, the computer recognize the phone as a Qaulcomm CDMA Technologies MSM, and is trying to install a driver for it (which it cannot find.) When I run the Custom_RUU, it does not find my Fuze and is showing a ERROR[260]: Connection.
What am I doing wrong? Do I need to find a driver for Qualcomm first? I searched, and it seemed that when you enter bootloader to flash, it is suppose to say USB at the bottom. Mine says Serial. Does that matter?
If more information is needed to troubleshoot:
SPL is SPL-1.90.OliNex
Phone is unlocked by using Olinex's unlocker
Rom was EnergyRom 3.0 Phoenix 51909
Problem was caused because I tried to install Studio Kuma Traditional Chinese Fonts on it. That program works flawlessly on a WM6.1. Of course, Energy 3.0 are WM6.5, hence causing the problem.
Any assistance is very appreciated.
Try sd card flashing
You have connect your device to your USB port and let it find the drivers. In order for it to download the drivers, you must have Activesync or Windows Mobile Device Center.
Once you have one of those downloaded, launch it and connect the device while it is running normally. Opt to connect via Activesync on your phone. You don't have to have these running in the future but you need it to find the drivers and install them. Leave the Activesync connection intact while you run the Flash program.
Once the phone reboots in bootloader mode, the PC will probably download some more drivers. The Flasher will probably time out while the drivers are being downloaded and installed. Keep trying.
Once the bootloader drivers are downloaded and installed, try to run the Flasher program again. Sometimes you'll need a reboot if something is hung up.
You SHOULD be able to reboot, put the phone in bootloader mode (Down + Power + Reset) and it should change "SERIAL" into "USB". Once it displays "USB" you are good to go. Load up the Flasher program and it should go all the way through without the assistance of ActiveSync or Mobile Device Center.
I always flash in bootloader mode, I just know the initial pairing is rough.
Well, I flashed from sd card, and the phone is working now. Thanks for everyone's replies.

[Q] A near-bricked phone.

Right basically, I followed the advice on the thread about which applications are safe to remove and removed the mtpapp however that is FAR FROM safe to remove as I've now found that whenever I connect the phone to any computer, I get the same error message : "SAMSUNG Mobile MTP Device was not successfully installed" and furthermore, when I go into Settings>Wireless and Networks>USB Utilities, the only option I have is USB mass storage mode but I'm sure samsung kies should be there too?
At the moment, kies recognises that my phone has been connected but just gets stuck on Connecting... so can't go any further.
I've done both soft and HARD resets but I still get the same damn message.
I've also tried flashing through ODIN but it just keeps showing up fail so something is seriously wrong as it recognises the phone's connected, but doesn't have the protocol (mtp i assume) to connect.
I've even phoned up Samsung support but they were useless unfortunately
What I'm asking is, is there a 3rd option to reinstall system apps from somewhere? even if I could manually download on pc then transfer through USB mass storage mode, I'm willing to do that, I just need functionality back so if anyone has some strange method, do help! or ask further questions to help me help you
You should only have USB mass storage mode there.
To flash with ODIN you need to start the phone in download mode; you shouldn't be able to nuke this by fiddling with the mtpapp.

[Help] USB error in bootloader mode

Hi, I am trying to unlock my phone but every time I try to connect the device in bootloader mode I get this error in the device manager.
This device cannot start. (Code 10)
A request for the USB BOS descriptor failed.
When I connect the phone normally, everything works fine, and the computer recognizes my phone. Only when I restart into bootloader mode does my computer not recognize the phone.
Does anyone have a solution to this?
I have downloaded all the drivers and htc sync and nothing worked so far.
