I bought the gs2 on release say but I still don't know what to do with android. I know the customization possibilities are endless but does anyone know some things I can do to make my user experience better overall?

Hey guys,
I have a Touch Pro for Sprint and I have been looking around and even playing with a few Roms, but none have made a great impression on me. If I understand correctly most Roms are based off of the original, bare, and stripped Rom. What I am wondering is if some one could just either confirm this to be true or tell me what is actually the truth. I know a little about programing, but have a friend that is willing to help me out. So if anyone will give me any information in starting out this process that would be great. Thanks.
Hey guys
i decided to lend my graphic skills(decent but im not a pro) to anybody who is doing ROM development, some devs usually want to change certain graphics but that can be time consuming so here i am lending my skills, is anybody interested? i also have to mention i've done some theming work here and there mainly on GoLauncher EX and apps from time to time but i would like to lend my skills to any developer out there who may benefit from this, i appreciate devs work and certainly without them we wouldn't have any of the roms or customizations on our phones and the graphic part is also as important as the rom itself, it sets the rom apart from the way it looks and that attracts peopl e.g. Sense 4, TouchWiz.
well i don't know if i explained myself but anyway =) , any of you guys interested?.
Hello fellow xda users. Im about to acquire a Samsung Galaxy S II in 26 Decembecer, to offer to a relative.
But i dont know any ROM available in XDA.
So i would like to know your opinions about which Rom is more stable , best battery life, and best performance.
Because i wont have any time to try the roms out, and the person i'll offer the phone, doenst know how to do it either.
But i wanted to give him a phone with a ROM already installed to bring out the best performance/battery life and stability.
Thanks for all the help u can give, i'll appreciate,
Best Regards,
ruibullseye
Wish u all a Merry Christmas
Without trying to sound stupid its all down to preference, I have tried out a couple and some are better then others
I would just go for a slightly modded mod rather then a full on change as sometimes they are missing features or are harder to learn depending on the age of the relative your giving the phone to
There's a reason these types of threads are frowned upon, and they tend to get closed. ROM preferences are a highly personal thing, and everyone's opinions are different. Many times they even lead to disagreements and flame wars.
Without knowing your relative's usage patterns or preferences, there's no way to reliably recommend a ROM. A ROM that works well for me might not work well for him (or you).
I have a pretty good idea for an invention and I need some help or advice about developing an android os to run one of the parts to this invention. The OS will need a few security features that do not normally come on Android. If someone would like to help me out and chat about my I idea I would be very greatful. It may even lead to a business partnership down the road. I'm pretty sure that my idea would take off because it would solve a problem that most people have had to deal with. Thanks for your help.
Hello!
Now, who am I, I am a dude who got sick of his android phone and decided to take the initiative!
Well, you see, many many Android users get sick of their phones, of the bloatware by the manufacturers and their user interface, we got tired of not getting the updates and falling back!
So what do we do, we root and probably install a Custom ROM, pretty good eh, android is about choice after all!
So, what happened..I tried doing the same, didn't get satisfaction from the ROMs available for my phone, and now I am stuck
As they say, if you want something done, do it yourself, which is why I decided to take upon myself the responsibility of making a Custom ROM for the user, I want to leave the source code out there, for everyone and anyone to tinker with it and port it to his phone, and I wanted to create the ROM the Android master race deserves...created by a user for users
You might think "This is all wonderful, but where do I come in?"
You, sir, are the user, you are the one this project is created for, and I need your help
I need you guys to help me create this ROM, I need you to tell me what you want to see in that ROM (Marshmallow), I want you to tell me what features are needed and what features are desired, what do you guys think Android M lacks and what shouldn't be touched, what should I improve and what should be left alone, I need your help to make something you would want to use.
HEY, ANDROID IS ALL ABOUT CHOICE AFTER ALL, AND I WANT YOU TO MAKE THE CHOICE!
P.S.:If you could name your phone, what UI or CustomROM you're running (or any CustomROMs you have used before) and tell me what features were implemented there and I should recreate or improve, the pros and cons of your ROM
P.S.S: I know I am asking for too much here, but as you might have thought, this looks like lots of work.
If you are interested in helping or being part of the UberROM project (name subject to change), tell me here, if you're a dev with experience on porting ROMs and tinkering with the AOSP, let me know, I could use all the help I could get!
Thank you!
