i bricked my phone last week while playin around with kdz.
So i took it to a lg service center. They told me the pcb had to be replaced.. Dunno how long they are gonna take to fix it though!!
Meanwhile, i want to know if i can restore the nandroid backup by installin CWM again after i get my phone back..??
I did a nandroid backup on 20th oct. .
Also, wil a new pcb mean ill get a new imei for my phone?
Ps : im eagerly waiting to get my phone back
I have all the rooting tutorials, apps, nandroid backup and wat not, everythin ready

They took 2 months, i think the long duration was becoz their was no pcb available with them and stock was to come from korea (they said) and there was bandh going on my place hyderabad, so ..
When they changed pcb , their was no gsm, among 4 keys only 2 key lights were working and also there was problem in volume buttons. SO i called on their manager and told them about how long i had to wait, then with in 2-3 days i was given new handset

your phone now should be not rooted, to ensure it try install gingerbreak apk and c whether got unroot option to let you choose or not, if not then means successfully your phone not rooted
good luck

that issue is not a major one,u can hardly notice it(in my case) so i think it would be a bit difficult to tell them exactly what the problem is,so i will go there after a month or so when this problem will become more severe

Hi guys, hopefully you can help me here as I'm at my wits end. I've tried everything I can think off and can't fix this blasted phone.
To be honest I have no idea how all of a sudden I lost my nv_data.bin and IMEI as first my phone wouldn't boot because of an error with the /efs folder.
After numerous searches online I managed to finally get it working by using odin and flashing CM9 for the Galaxy S2, I tried others and none of them worked. From here I used tools like GSII Repair and Ktool and was able to create a nv_data.bin but IMEI still gone but at least I'm back to having a baseband.
My issue is now that I can't restore my IMEI number any backups or nv_data.bin or.baks where gone, I tried all the tricks online to restore and nothing.
I have the generic IMEI "004999010640000" and of course can't connect to mobile network.
Is there anyway that I can manually add in the IMEI number to fix this issue??
Thanks in advance.

I'm sure there has to be a way, what will the service centre do that I wouldn't be able to??
They may have better tools than we do.
You could try flashing the ROM the device came with.
I too have this issue with a friend's phone (as some dumb ass tech guy flashed a branded firmware without backing up EFS) , so I have to flash any ROM I can get my hands on without the certainty that it would actually work.
Some guys did report that it worked.

I'll give you a tenner for it if you do that.

you need special hardware to recreate the efs folder and rewrite the imei.. changing the imei is illegal on most countries so its obvious that it wont be easy to change... the service center has the tools to recreate the efs folder... flashing software will not fix the corrupted efs and would probably make it even worse...
our methods for flashing:
computer ----> phone
specialists and service center:
computer ----> "special hardware" ----> phone
you can do a search on the internet on what "special hardware" they use but i doubt that that would be for sale in a country where changing imei is illegal
software alone cannot recreate the efs folder nor write a new imei.. all you can do without the hardware is try to recover your corrupted efs if still possible.. if it comes to the point that it needs to be recreated or rewritten then it would be impossible without the said hardware

Hello,
I have a Lenovo A706. I mistakenly formatted the boot partition and now I cant even go to droidboot. Is there any hope that my phone can be recovered. I will be taking it to the service centre on Friday, but... can someone assure me that it will be repaired. I just brought it it's only seven days into the purchase and I don't even feel that it can be repaired. So, can someone say if it can be repaired by the service centre, or can I attempt a repair?
It would help if you detailed ALL the steps you took to arrive at this stage. And I mean ALL details.
You think when it's this important to you that you'd at least give some details, tools used, rooted, etc

Yes sir,
Here's what I did:
I flashed my phone with CWM, then rooted my phone using the methods described in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2391801
Then I went into CWM using vol up+vol down+power and instead of erasing /cache I erased /sys_boot or something and then my phone doesn't even start into DroidBoot or CWM. Even if you tell me that the phone can be repaired by service centre I would be happy. Ask me if you want any more information!

Erasing the bootloader is like breaking your device permanently unless you reflash the bootloader/ whole rom which comes with the bootloader or else it's gone.

Thanks for your help, guys
Well I was messing up with, obviously, things that I didn't know about. Seems like Android tweaker 2 made my phone to this state. I was concerned that I have all backed up by Titanium backup but I was wrong. I backed up my apps, not system. I AM still concerned that I have backup somewhere, but no say I can find it in recovery (I navigate, search, etc., but no backup) Well my phone is Prestigio pap3400duo,running stock kernel, no custom ROM, didn't unlock the BOOTLOADER,. This happens to me for the second time in 3 days, I can't send my phone to repair again (it is rooted but they can't turn it on to see so they always repair it). I am ashamed to take it to store again ☺. only someone retarded can destroy his phone 2 times in 3 days.
Thanks in advance.

flash firmware
Hi guys, I've flashed the phone over KDZ Updater after a softbrick which took place after playing with the recovery and flashing everything that I've been able to find on the internet. This happened about 2 years ago, now I have a L9, but I want to see this little rock working again, hehe.
I went into fastboot, then udc_start(). Ok, I flashed everything but gave an error. Unpluged the battery, and then... it's dead ^_^.
Can't I shortcut the motherboard in some place or am I missing some alternative unbricking method?

I also wanna do.
Can be solved by octopus box.
(If it has not cost 99$ for license)

I think that it can also be done through a Medusa Box, anyways, it's much more cheaper but much more hard-to-connect.

Unluckily, I don't have one.
Was it repaired?
What I have done so far:
1. Backup was some how corrupted. Had to use it anyway.
2. Pushing system from PC was bad.
3. Repeated the backup
4. Re-flashed the ROM which gave me a working system
5. Re-rooted, re-installed SuperSU
6. Got link2sd to relink anything that might have been awry, SuperSU had to be set to grant since dialogs did not come up.
7. Updated everything.
8 Phone seems to be working
9 Did new backup
So far, despite obbfix, "no service." Maybe it is not me?

Which ROM is this, and what modem is installed?
I have no APN information showing, nada.
So where do I get that back?
