From the time I started flashing the 406 recovery, flashing the Olleh ROM and booting it took about 15 minutes... flashing Streakmod and StreakDroid 2.4.3 and booting another 10
I would suggest you flash the 406 recovery and package and start over

Thanks for the link marvin02, I hadn't seen that post by TheManii and only suggested that in my reply because I flashed the 406 before flashing Stephen's ROM and haven't had any issues... I'll be reflashing the Streak shortly

first i'm using koush's custom recovery image to restore the 1.6 rooted firmware. after that it stuck at dell logo
then i'm using fastboot to install new dell recovery link from Marciu at modaco
http://hotfile.com/dl/62324940/5dea6fd/recovery.rar.html
after that i'm been able to flashed with dell original firmware.
thanks everybody for those custom software
Didn't work for me.
I keep getting stuck at "Software is up to date. System will reboot in 30 seconds." The update just gets cancelled because it says it is already up to date (which is true!).
you had to use koush's custom recovery image and the rooted firmware update.zip file to downgrade it
I used stock recovery and stock 1.6 ROM on mine. Flashed recovery through fastboot, updated through standard update.pkg method, and all is good (and unrooted). Keeping UK Streak at 1.6 for StreakSmart and using AT&T Streak on 2.1 for me.

Is it any different to 4399?
I wonder why they aren't distributing 6267 through official channels.

I was trying to flash rom 345 by using the the update.pkg and recovery.img here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=Dell_Streak
and now when I turn on my streak, it just shows the dell logo.
if u used the recovery for 345 and the 345update.pkg then u should not have issues.
Try factory reset and see if that helps
Hey all I have a question. Im trying to root my friends Dell Streak for him and Ive read that Super One Click works. Can anyone confirm if they used that method? If not please let me know which you used. THANKS!
I never used super one click. Long time ago I used Gingerbreak to root 2.2.2 based on 347.
Now I just flash Superuser.zip via streakmod. Takes less than 10 mins altogether. This method worked flawlessly for me on 2.2.2 based on 360 and 2.3.3 based on Olleh 407.

DSC 0.66b - Using it now. No bugs for me at all
I've previously tried rooting with an app and S1C, but none have worked. Flashing the .zip as others have mentioned is the only way to do it :]

Yes, next question
But seriously, the only thing you have to remember when using fastboot on linux is to use "-i 0x413c" (Dell's USB Vendor ID) after fastboot, before the fastboot commmand, e.g.:
Code:
fastboot -i 0x413c flash recovery recovery.img
Edit: I now saw the typo , it's 0x413c
Hi
I am from India & I have a dell streak 5 with baseband version GAUSB1A135700-AWS
I was some how able to root the phone but its not showing me the option to clean the superuser data in the app option in the setting window but I did get the msg in recovery mode that my phone has been successfully rooted
& also I am not able to update using the pkg as its telling me to update via the update.zip
Do I have to use the 350 recovery method?

no worry.. custom ROM usually supports all region... well... it is custom right?
and try other custom ROM such as DSC 1.0 or longhorn 2.7
that should be enough for you... :good:

you do know how to flash and do fastboot right? because flashing to stock requires that preliminarily...
here is the link to the official rom...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=Dell_Streak#Official
you can try using 406 or 407 rom and make sure the recovery also matches with the rom...
=)

last question, the 406 is .img how to flash and where? stock recovery? via install update?
and the 407 is .pkg, or this is the one that can flash in stock recovery via install update etc?

if the usb port is broken.. how do you charge your phone? using external battery charger? did the previous owner told you that the port was broken?
if the port is out and since you are already using GB... you can only flash custom rom such as longhorn, dsc, lxdroid....
where you just need to transfer the rom zip to the external sd card...
flashing to stock is quite impossible since you need to flash the matching stock recovery... the stock recovery is there to flash the stock rom...
all the stock rom is with .pkg
and if you said that the recovery is stock... you can only flash stock rom with that matches the number...
go into the recovery and when you select update.pkg menu... it should show you the number of the supported stock rom...
there are many digits in one line with blue (or white?) color... put it here so that we can show you which stock rom can go with the recovery...

why you want to restock your DS ROM? stock rom have so many bugs! even the new Olleh 407. just go with _n0p_ newest DSC custom ROM, its bug free.. search _n0p_ thread on development site.
