Which kernel is better .32 or .35???
in terms of battery and performance (as usual)??
As far as I know, .35 kernels are better than .32 kernels in both performance and battery.
In most cases newer versions are better only because of new features and improvements. Linux 3.0 is better than both, but nobody needs it since it need a full rewrite of the kernel tweaks from franciscofranco, mik_os, andy and fserve. At the moment our 2.6.35 kernels are less stable than the .32 ones, so I would advice you to use the .32 ones.
Depends on the user, but yep I think .35 is better in terms of performance but .32 is better in terms of battery life

In my opinion .35 has better both performance, and battery.
For the ones saying .35 has better battery life than .32, what ROM are you using, how long does the battery last and what's your usage pattern?

I would actually say that they are same in battery use. but .35 kernel have a really better performance than .32
thanx!! to all of you for your response..
I'm a heavy user my battery last 8 hours max...using 6.5.7+gbs18c
Now I've moved to 6.6.1+latest fk .35 kernel...
As far as I know. 35 kernels have slightly lesser battery than. 32 ..do post ur feedbacks on your experience with. 35,

Dude play music on a rom with .35 kernel for one hour and do the same for .32 kernel.U will see .35 kernel uses less than half of battery as that of .32 kernel..

Hi. I installed the cyanogenmod 7 on my LG p500.I love it verymuch.but my battery is draining so heavily.is there any way to fix it,?

I used Juice Defender and it helps.
Sent from my LG-P500 using XDA Premium App
undoubtedly either android 2.3.3 or cyanogen mod eats battery more than usual, in their official builds (nexus one for 2.3.3 / htc desire for cyanogen mod 7)
and you're prolly using unofficial builds and there might be more battery drain than usual.
you should have considered this and i dont think any of the developers didnt told you on their posts.
of course apps like juice defender or battery doctor etc. are good
but if you hate ur liberty being controlled by those dumb apps (i do), just control your data/wifi usage well, make suitable overclock profiles, or buy an extended battery physically.

i have the same problem.. actually i update to the last cm7 cuz with the last "stable release" my battery get down from nite to morning 30% o.o... but with the update now is just 6%... anyway while im using my phone my battery drain so fast but like you.. i like a lot cm7
if this continue like this imma change to devoid franco

for what it's worth, void #echo or devoid.franco + franco.Kernel proves quite good as far as battery life is concerned.

yep, i had been reading that kind of comments about franco's rom.. i think i have to try it, all the ppl always say wonderful things about this rom and im really tempted to use =D
So here goes...
Well i realise this with every rom I use. Standby gives 1% per hour. I know not as good as most, but yea. However, with wifi on and browsing for 40 minutes, its already 8%. It aint really enough for me since I spend so much time here.

So far I used
- stock ROM: bad performance, batt - dont remember
- megatron with its kernel (2.2): absolutely best batt, 0-1% of battery drain per overnight (wifi off, data off, gps off); good performance; might be unstable
- LOL 1.4.2 with its own kernel mix (2.2.2): fair battery life and performance
-devoid and void with franco kernel (#14 it was then): not so much satisfied with batt. or performance in live or in quadrant test (sorry franco, i could not understand why it is so...)
- jince : very smooth ROM for everyday use; batt is little bit worsethat Megatron or LOL (5-9% overnight, all off; however ither reported better batt. life).
My choise for battery - Megatron v1 (with it's kernel)
PS. currently testing megatron ROM with Franco 18.1 kernel. Will post results.
Megatron rocks but its not as visually appealing.

could try overstock 2.4.1 then OC to 1.2GHz, havent been on project v but my battery was ok with that on other roms
or could try dragonmodz and OC to 1.2GHz, that might have better battery than overstock, havent tried it but people on his thread say they have quite decent battery going up to 1.5GHz
just play around with them for a few days each, see which works best
I'm running TigersBlood3.22 OC to 1.2Ghz and I'm gettin average battle life.

DragonMODz kernels have the best battery I've experienced. Followed by Bali 1.8.6UV.
Sent from my SGH-T959
IMHO, DragonModz are awesome kernels, they have all flavors. They have the "Standard" version that its the intermediate between performance and battery life, then they have the ULP version that boosts the battery life, but takes a little of the performance, and last but not least, they have the OC version wich is oriented to performance...battery life is ok with this one, does not suck, but it isn't as great as the ULP/Standard version or Bali's UV.
I have tried several kernels, and i think that my phone was the happiest with DragonMODz.
i have found, for my phone at least
bali UV = great battery life ( 15 hours ) moderate use
bulet 1.48 = great performace ( 21 mflops & 7 hours ) moderate use
overstock 2.4.x = good balance

I have to add that im an moderate/intense user. Im on WiFi 37% of the time, i use lots of intesive GPU using apps like Gameloft's HD games, N64/Gba emulation, i listen to music around 46% of the time and im using Project V until GB gets fully functional (GPS) wich seems to be very soon.
IMO, the best option if you want great battery life and great performance is to buy a 3000mah battery and use an OCed Kernel.
Thanks bro great info. I appreciate all the help with this thread!

Bali UV has the best battery life I've seen , after 16-17 hours of moderate use (WiFi, calls, 3d games) i still have on average 40-45% juice.
Can you guys tell me the Pros and Cons of Paoulo, Francisco, Fserve [.35 Kernel] in comparison to one another? Like what does it lacks and what does it have, how r they different. And which is the best kernel for adfads N2 CM7 ROM according to you? Also I tried goggling for Paoulo's kernel and Rome kernel but couldn't find them. It maybe cause I don't understand Italian. So can you also tell me exactly how to get them?
Paolo - the great thing about it is the touchfix which is very good and not bad for scrolling, so good for gaming use.
Franco - the latest one is best for gaming use, but its not smooth. If you talk about previous versions, its have the best performance/battery life ratio.
Fserve - currently still in development, so we can't judge it yet.

Theres Rome kernel too, that is based on Paolo but with some improvements.

Yes, it drains a lot of battery in WiFi. I'm using the 1.3.3 BFS V-Sync OFF with Oxygen 2.3.2 and the phone is really fast and smooth! No lag in 3D games, and without WiFi, the battery life is awesome (Governor LighassV2 OC 245/729)! Another bug that i found : doesn't work USB MASS but i don't know if is a rom related bug or kernel related but...BTW, fastest combination ever imho
Franco's kernel hands down. Paolo's (and possibly Rome's) kernel is just a ripoff from franco's kernel.
I hope fserve will eventually pick up franco's sources and improve it further.

WTF? Paolos .35 kernel come out first, with oc, camera flicker fix and wifi tethering fixed (came out broken on lg sources) so is very idiotic to say that is a rip off, I know that because i tested both kernels as soon they come out in that time.
Imho Paolo's kernel is way more stable than Franco's

Oh , thanks for explaining and sharing, i didn't know that Cyanogenmod have this kernel source
Franco himself didn't say Paolo stole from him.
And
I don't respect Zack very much as he did not release any source code and thus violating GPL, and i remembered he himself said there is no reason to release source code, which I think it is idiotic. Also, most of his supposed 'patches' mostly came from franco(franco supposedly said had the same patches in his kernels for multiple devices).

Yea, I think Zack is a selfish people. But we can't force him to release his kernel source code...
BTW: How do you know that he used franco patches?
I flash the Rome 1.3.3 kernel yesterday on Cyanogen 7.2 N1, the performace is great, no blackscreen bug until now.
But the battery is not so good as franco kernel (12% in 3h, I need to wait until the end of day to see better and examine Better Battery Status).
So for now I recomend Rome if you don't care so much about battery.

Those are two very different kernels... Franco is for battery life and extreme is for pure performance.
