[Q] Samsung SGSII Camera problem - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
Someone has encountered this problem so far?
As per attachment, today have noticed a kind of a shadow that is appearing in all photos.
At first I thought it was some dust at the back of the lens cover
So I opened it's back cover carefully and cleaned the dust, and also the main camera, however the problem persists and it seems within the camera module.
The phone has never been exposed to humid environment & also kept in good care. Still under warranty.
Should I contact the supplier or such thing would not be considered to cover the warranty?
Thanks !

Hey Guys,
I sent it back with some more problems including crappy voice calls...

seems like camera lens has been damaged or dust stuck there

Camera lens has been replaced, must be some kind of a fungus. It happens on most other camera lenses.
Problem occurred again some 8months later!

[Q] HTC HD2 screen has become yellowish

Hi,
My HTC is giving me problems. The screen has become yellowish.
Earlier the screen used to become yellowish for 5-10 mins and it used to occur in two weeks or so. But now the phone has permanently become yellowish. I am also attaching a picture along with this thread. As you can see, the areas in the pic which are bluish is showing the true color of the background. Rest of the screen is all yellowish.
Can someone help me with this problem.
Best regards,
MOhit Goyal
Looks like a faulty contact from your Motherboard to your screen (bad connector, bad flex-strip or something like that)
IMO you need to send it in for repairs.
I have had the same with my p3300, but was able to fix it myself (connector was not completely pressed down, had come loose)
Hardware problem?
Do you think this is a hardware problem?
Why I doubt that is because:-
1. Whenever I touch any place on the screen for opening an application, the area shows the actual color, but if I just touch the screen the colours doesn't change.
2. Usually the phone starts displaying the correct colours after a restart
Should I take chances and reset my phone or something?
I'm having the exact same problem every now & then (often occurs when I keep the phone in my jeanspocket) A light tap on the screen often helps. Had it in for repairs earlier, but they only re-flashed it (!) So the problem is not solved
What to do now?
I am not able to play any game. I hate looking at my phone. It makes me so angry.
How do I get it fixed. Its the fourth consecutive day with the wrong colours.
Someone please help.
Performed a hard reset but still not working properly
This is not happening. I performed a hard reset thinking that it might just work but it did not.
Can someone please help me here.
Of course it is a hardware fault. Send it in for repair - or repair it yourself
I think is a virus or something else, because has happened to many people lately.
I also had the issue as pictured above.....and exactly as described in the first post.
It began to occur about three weeks....and gradually was getting worse.
Its getting worse
Again I am doubtful that its a hardware problem.
Now, I am not even able to open anything on my phone. I keep getting thrown back to the main screen. No matter what I open, what application I am using, it just keeps throwing me back to the main menu.
In addition to that, even when I am not using the phone, it just keeps flashing. I lock it and the screen turns on again. Its like the phone is getting used every second.
I think its a virus. Does anyone know any anti virus solutions for HTC HD2?
Thanks,
Mohit Goyal
i got exactly the same problem - check my photos here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=716002&page=2
i donth think it is a virus - why? - becase if it so the virus should go when you reflash the rom or flash a new rom - i douubt also about the virus but when install new rom the color issue still existig.
i sent my device to the dealer for repair and i will apdate you about the real reason when i got the answer from the dealer.
however, the same issue happened before to one of my friends and the device was out of warantee - he took it to a repair shop and they told him it is a kind of default in the mother board.
this time we will get dealer answer so lets wait.
thanks
a member in other forum advised me to use the attached cab which solve a similar issue in Blackstone.
but it is too late for me because i returned the device to the dealer
however- other member faced a similar issue and the dealer told him it a default in the motherboard.
Send in for repair......

Listen to the others... You need to send phone in for repair... My phone use to flicker on and off to the point where I couldn't call or use.... I sent to be repaired and they replaced the mother board, but didn't fix my other problems (phone will not turn off and when u put in battery phone turns on on it's own)..... I would send in for repair.......................
htc contacted me an inform me that the reason was the motherboard
yea its the motherboard isue i droped mind and d screen has changd its colour to yelow blue and sometimes wnt wake up aftr remvng 4m poket.gave it htc repair center they said a socket or conector has a problm whch cnt be repaired and so mothrboard needs to b changed.motherboard cost 8000rupees/190dolars whch is **** expensive for repairing
I had this same problem and read on some other forum that you're supposed to "flex" the phone. So I bended my phone a little (the top and bottom backwards, be careful the screen also has glass in it) to try to get a bit of a curve in it and by god ...it worked!!!!! The screen flickered and then the yellow screen was gone!!! I'm so glad because I mailed Htc two days earlier and I still don't have a response from them. I hope it works for you
Just to confirm... The same thing happen to me its either (A) the cable from MOBO to Screen came loose usually by flexing or bending the phone which can happen in someones pocket. (B) the cable connector came loose by same methods (C) MOBO went bad usually by same methods. Either way one should it in for repairs or crack it open and see for your self.
I got same problem before, it happened when the screen is moist. it looks like there is an absorbent layer behind the screen which got damped. try drying it.....found article to contained the unit in a seal container with rice overnite for drying electronic gadgets, and see the result.remember to take off the battery. good luck.

[Q] Touchscreen not responding

Hi folks
Just inherited a very worn out one year old Xperia X10 from my son. Been trying to resurrect it.
About 2 or 3 months ago the touchscreen started to become non-responsive occasionally. Admittedly, I didn't look at it for him at the time. Then he dropped it down the loo (think - hope! - there was only water in it at the time). We dried it out in the hotpress and it worked ok but still with intermittent touchscreen not working.
He got a Blackberry from Santa, so a couple of weeks ago I inherited the Xperia. The screen was cracked in several places and totally non-responsive. Rather than chuck it in the bin, I thought I'd try and fix it up. So I bought a new screen on ebay and the other night I dismantled it and fitted the new screen. Touchscreen is still totally non-responsive. There was a slight rust on the perforated metal plate at the back of the screen which I carefully cleaned with WD40. All the connections and circuits look ok. I've updated it successfully on both PC Companion and SEUS.. I've also tried flashing using instructions from this forum but cannot get it right (most flashtool symbols greyed out). I have a feeling that it's a simple problem but just can't get there. The screen display is fine, I can get the camera and the keyboard up using the buttons. But damned if I can get the touchscreen to work. I feel the problem harks back to when the screen was intermittent - it still worked after the water/screenbreak, but not that well.
Anybody got any ideas or should I bin it? (Can't seem to get any worthwhile advice on the WWW - happened upon this forum while searching and thought - "This is my MAN". (One suggestion I saw on the web was to try a new battery - can't see how this would make a difference, present battery working fine. Also, I wondered if the proximity sensor could be on all the time?)

[Q] Camera Problems

Hey everyone, last week fell in a river and when I got out of the river, and dried my phone out, it had black spots on the camera, but further investigation led me to believe that the lens was not the problem because I cleaned it out with alcohol. nothing would make the spots go away. I was wondering if it was a problem with the phone but that was wrong because I tried the front facing camera and it works fine. I really don't know what to do please help me! The warranty is no longer valid because I unlocked bootloader.
You can try searching for ways to clean the camera. I have heard different mods to clean it. But it takes some searching and looking. There was one for example for the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10. That is one you could use for reference.

[Q] I9300 Screen issues

Hi
Cutting a long story short, is there a screen calibration app/menu option for the S3? I cracked my screen the other week, and I have had the screen replaced (not by samsung). Ive noticed now that the screen intermittenly sometimes sticks, becomes non responsive and/or the image "vibrates" when I long press on an app to move it. OR when I try to hang up a call, 9/10 times the press doesnt "register"
Before I go and moan at the shop I got it repaired at, is there any app or any way of calibrating the screen ?
I should mention that the phone is not running a stock rom. It wasnt before the screen was replaced and everything ran flawlessly, even with the crack Now I'm no expert but I would suggest they've either fitted a dodgy screen / there's a loose connection or it needs calibration.
If anyone's wondering it is on Temasek's CM11 unofficial build. Although I had it on CM 11 for a while and the problem persisted.
I suspect it is a hardware issue with the replacement screen but I thought I'd ask.
Cheers
Andrew
Flash a full stock rom to test but it sounds like you've a hardware fault.
*#0*#
This is screen test function of sammy based roms. if you want you can try your screen with this
You cant calibrate capacitive screens

If I remeber correctly this behavior happens when the screen is repaired without that special adhesive layer which originally glues everything together.
Back on stock rom, tried the calibration/diagnostic screen.... no dice, according to that it works ok lol.
It looks like I'm going back to the shop I got the repair done, to try and get them to fix it (again!) Bet they will try and charge me more money tbh I am almost at the point of living with it BUT I had two phone calls I could not answer today because the screen wasn't working properly, and that will not do
Edit :- found the accessibility options which allows me to answer/end calls using the hardware buttons. Still a bit gash but better than nothing.
Will see what the shop says, less urgent now, at least I have a way of answering the damn thing lol.

There are annoying problems of Screen freezing ,touch sensitivity issues and failure to respond most of time .i did factory reset .wipe data and dalvik cache
but without benefit , is it software related and will be solved with next update ??
any suggestion
thank you all
Did you remove the protective screen film yet?
I remember having similar issues when I first got my S8+ soon as I removed the film the issue was gone.
If you have I'd probably look at getting a replacement.
My screen works fine as far as response to touch, I think I have screen bleed though. Posted a video of it in my thread.
I dont have a screen protector
I have the same model and software, no issues on mine. Get it changed at the store you bought it from.

Do yourself a favor: Give it back and get a nother one. One thing: Did you e.g. use a backup to set the new phone up?
yes it was hardware defect at the center of screen and was detected by the dialer code *#0*# and replaced from the store
thank you all
