[Q] Diagnosis Wanted - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello all,
I've been having a look round on the internet to find a solution to the problem that I'm currently facing with my Galaxy S2,
I recently installed the checkrom OS and darknight firmware, and decided to use clockworkmod to backup the rom and settings, it restarted and then flashed up the start up screen, I.E:
"Samsung
GALAXY S II
GT-I9100"
It wont go any further than this, and if I turn the phone off and on again its stuck on the same screen, it will not go into recovery mode, nor will it go into download mode.
Am I right in thinking that for some unknown reason it failed to reboot into CWM to do a ROM backup and has bricked my phone? In which case will a USB Jigg off of amazon at the very least restore the download mode?
Responses very welcome, as I am a bit buggered without my phone =)
Much thanks

The only way to get past this try and boot into clockwork mod and do a complete wipe and reflash the ROM and don't use any custom kernels use the one that comes with the ROM and that should get ya going and make shure you wipe your dalvik ceche and your battery stats

Anyway, if you can't get into download or recovery mode, yes, it could be worth trying a jig, it can't make it any worse .

Haha thanks, think your probably right, I cant think of any other way to recover the phone if I cant access the Download mode at the very least.

Did you try it through ROM manager

I recently had an issue quite the same -- on the latest MIUI build, with SiyahKernel, I tried to perform a backup using ROM Manager, and it rebooted the device, and then I couldn't get past the Galaxy S II logo. I couldn't access recovery mode either.
My only solution was to put it into download mode, and restore the stock firmware for the device, then re-root, and re-install everything.
I think you might be confusing recovery mode and download mode though... I understand you might not be able to enter recovery mode (volume UP + home + power), but you definitely should still be able to enter download mode (volume DOWN + home + power) -- if not, you're pretty much going to have to take it to a Samsung Service Center, and play dumb if they ask you about custom ROMs, etc.
But I'm very confident that you should still be able to access download mode, try giving it another shot
Remember, volume down.
If you can get into it, find and download your stock ROM, and flash it through Odin (if you need help with finding it or whatever, just PM me?)
As before, if you can't access download mode, a jig won't do anything for you.

[Q] Stuck on bootloop.. Can´t enter recovery

So.. I was using my phone normally .. but suddenly my phone went very very slow and then I turned off... I was running Unnamed rom.
But here is the deal , the phone didnt woke up! I mean , The phone got stucked into a boot loop , So I treid to enter into recovery with no luck!... Then I managed to go into download mode without any problem.
So after that I restored the phone to stock (One click root odin) . BUT the phone is still showing the Galaxy S Screen Boot loop.
HELP!
I´ve tried many things.. 2 Laptops and PC´s , ports , etc.. I also removed the sim card and the micro sd , but that didnt do anything.
So , any suggestion?
PS: Sorry 4 my english
I'm going to assume that you flashed UCKH7, either the stock without root, or the stock with root one click downloader. If you flashed something different than one of these, let me know.
Since you flashed the stock package successfully, you should now be able to get into 3e recovery by holding vol+ vol- and power buttons. Once in 3e recovery, you should do a wipe data/factory reset and your phone should then boot normally.
If you are unable to get into 3e recovery, then there is some sort of unusual problem, so post back here and we'll try to find out what it is.

If you can't get into recovery using the three button technique then there is something seriously wrong with your phone.

Yes... I'm thinking possible hardware issue. But since you can still get download mode, I'd try flashing the full stock package which you can get from the Download Repository. The one you already flashed did not contain the bootloaders and other stuff. If that doesn't clear it up, then I'm thinking repair or replace.
Noob question.. Where I can find the download repository?
thanks

My limited guess would be to full wipe and reflash ROM
i recommend factory reset
Sent from my GT-I9300
As for duplicate camera and gallery apps, just might be because you chose to install aosp camera app during installation.

You lot are a bunch of useless muppets, aren't you? He's already stated specifically that he can't get into download or recovery mode, so he can't full wipe, factory reset or flash anything.
To the original poster, it unfortunately sounds like you may have bricked your device. Presuming that you've tried powering up the phone with the appropriate buttons held down to access recovery mode and that doesn't work, you're limited to contacting your provider and/or Samsung to get the phone fixed.
hmm
Yep, you should try to get to download mode (pressing vol down + power) while booting and then flashing a stock rom with odin. Then root and get cwm and flash another rom.
Well apart from as said by anthropolyte a number of useless noob reply's .
I would be sourcing a USB Recovery Jig and try to access download mode before a service repair .

{HELP} can't get into recovery mode

yesterday i tried to restore a previous system via CWM. At the end of the process when i rebooted the phone, my galaxy s2 i9100g was stucked, showing the logo : "samsung galaxy s 2 GT-I9100G". I tried to reboot again, and the same result, and also i cant seem to be able to get into recovery mode, it just won't work, the same logo appears over and over again
please help me, i don't know what to do.
i see now that i can get into sownloading mode, maybe i can flash a rom from the computer somehow??

does it have to be a stock, or can i flash a custom rom?
Not through odin no.
can you explain more, because i'm kind of new to those things. where can I get a stock, and how do i flash it using odin?
Get firmware from sammoblie. Say lsw firmwear and well here's the thing iv never had to use it so best bet follow the many many guides to use odin. One day I will have to use it but for now I don't no how to
Go over to that newbies thread and post all your current lame questions there.
And your future ones lol.

[Q] Unbrick a i9100

Hi,
My friend has been using his Galaxy s2 for over quite some time and suddenly it froze during the bootscreen. It has been a clean version without anything warrenty-voiding stuff on it...
He asked me to look it up and i managed to get the phone into Download mode (Recovery mode wasn't working)
First time i tried to flash everyting over again on my Windows with Odin without using PIT files, after that i went into Ubuntu and still no luck..
At last i went back to Odin, flashing with PITfiles. When i tried this my PC froze and after a few hours i decided to reboot my phone. When i tried to get it back into download mode i just got a blank screen. no Download mode, no Recovery mode and so on. Even when i plug my phone into the wallcharger nothing happens.
Is there anything i still can try to get his phone up and running again?
Thanks in advance!

Did you tick repartition phone when you were flashing the pit files? Are you trying to use stock rom or custom rom? Stock rom requires the system size to be at defaults so make sure to flash a stock size pit. Otherwise, make sure you factory reset and wipe cache partition if you are trying to flash custom rom.

Do you have other thoughts?

Have you tried a USB jig? See if your phone reacts too it. Since you can't get to download mode, you hard bricked your phone (assume your chsrging port is still ok). Were you running ics or JB?

It was running on ICS, I will try the USB jig ASAP and i will get back to ya!
Thanks for now
Still not working..
Trying an USB jig didnt put the phone into download mode. I bought one online and also tested it on my phone. It did work on mine but doesnt on the bricked S2. Is there also something else I can try now?
Regards,
Orlando
I had exactly the same problem. The phone had to be JTAG restored. This process isn't for the feint of heart to say the least.
Google "JTAG i9100" and watch some Youtube vids.

[Q] I need some help Please !!!

So I made a small mistake.......
So I was running twrp to install a fresh copy of sickness V7. I ran a back up then instead of running the install i clicked wipe and before I realized it, I was erasing everything. I pulled the battery to try and save it, but no luck. She wont boot to twrp, she just stays at the pop up screen. Please help! I know this might be the best place to ask, but I love this rom and would like to side load it if possible.
Can you still get into download mode? If so you should be able to use Odin, or kies to do a fresh install, and then start over

I have tried but with no luck I get the splash screen and at the top is says
Kernel is not seadroid enforcing
Set Warranty Bit: kernel
I cant get into recovery and odin can see the device but i I dont know what to load to it to fix the recovery or how to load a new rom
That sounds like recovery mode, not download mode. Volume down, home button, and power button all together. Google restoring your phone using kies. If you have further issues let me know and I can write you up some instructions....

Ok if you managed to install trwp then with luck you can get into recovery now. Hold volume up button and home at the same time when you power on the phone. If trwp is correctly installed it should load. If it does not load then go here http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/43332/G900TUVU1DOB1_G900TTMB1DOB1_TMB/ and download that file. You'll have to register I believe. Others have posted this but at the moment I don't know which ones. Download that and then use the same way you installed trwp to install this. This will completely restore your phone to stock. you will need to install trwp again. From here I believe you should just be able to then install Twi5ted Lollipop.
