If you want the stock CM7 kernel then just reflash the Ba2tF zip. I'm sure there's a way to extract it, but if you're not sure about undervolting I doubt that's something you want to try.
Faux used to have a 'stock' CM7 kernel for download, but I'm assuming with 3 different betas (and nightlies and weeklies) he removed the link to avoid people downloading something that wouldn't match the CM7 beta version they were on.

Stock kernel

I flashed king's OC kernel but want to go back to stock, I dont want to flash a whole new rom. Can the kernel be pulled out of a rom? Im not sure how that works

[Q] How to revert to stock kernel w/o wiping?

I want to install Bionix 1.7 w/ JACs OC kernel. I have flashed his kernel before, but i want to know, can I flash the stock kernel and just lose my OC? In case I have to go back to stock Bionix.
So, can I expect to flash the stock kernel on top of Bionix 1.7 to get rid of JACs kernel?

I don't think this will work, I'm not 100% but since his 1.7 build is based off of the JI6, I believe the kernel is different and this might mess some stuff up for you. Please someone correct me if I'm wrong
If I decide to go back to stock, I'll have have to use odin? When I was using 1.4 w/ OC, I flashed stock kernel via clockwork. then I soft bricked :O

flashin custom rom with stock kernel

does anyone here uses a custom rom with a stock kernel? will it still be good? i really do want to flash but i don't want things to get complicated. i just want to speed up the phone.
and with stock kernel everything is simple right? just flash the rom and use it, no other things needed.
I am one of the unlucky people that have a vibrant that cant handle an OC/UV kernel. So yes, every time I flash a custom rom, I flash a stock kernel. Generally speaking most roms I use ( bionix and master ) barely increase the benchmark scores of stock tw... though they do feel snappier because these rom chefs spend alot of time in polishing the user interface... if you want to make your device faster, try rooting it and installing a lag fix. If you have any other questions be sure to click the red text in my Sig.
You do not need a lag fix... too many issues stem from this.

i already flashed a fusion 1.1 stock kernel. i'm satisfied already.
Awesome, just making sure. I didn't agree with the lf suggestion.
If you've flashed Bionix Fusion 1.1 with JACS OC/UV ROM from stock, do you need to flash another kernel or does the ROM include the JACs kernel? Without SetCPU do you then run stock benchmarks?
3rd Q, are there issues flashing back to a custom ROM but with the standard kernel?

to your 3rd question, if you have a custom rom with a stock kernel you can flash back to stock rom without problems using odin.
Thanks. Plus found discussion of kernels under Vibrant Q&A under "Bionix fusion 1.1".

[Q] 2 questions

hi. i just want to ask these 2 questions.
question 1:
can i flash over a new rom over my bionix 1.3.1 running bali kernel 1.8.8? i would like to try an ics rom if it will do me good.
question 2:
if i switched to another rom, what will happen to my kernel? will there be incompatibility issues? however im planning to change the kernel if ever. can it also just be flashed over bali 1.8.8?
thanks.
Yes can flash on top might have to flash twice. Wipe is recommended.
Roms usually include kernel so don't have to worry about kernel. Btw 2.2 kernels like bali 1.8 would be in incompatible with 2.3 ics and aosp kernels

Just want to add: Make sure to read the install instructions before you flash and it's a good idea to read the entire thread so you know what issues you might have. You should also know how to recover your phone should something go wrong.
In addtion, make a nandroid back up before you do anything, just in case you bork something and have to go back.

[Q] CM10 Stock Kernel?

Hey can anyone provide me the link with the stock cm 10 kernel, i was on cm10 but then i flashed a different kernel n i wanna go back to the cm10 stock kernel. how can i do this? does anyone have the link to it? thanks
Flash CM10 again without wiping; the kernel will overwrite your existing kernel. Once you've done that, get kTool from Google Play (and buy Hellcat a beer) & dump the CM10 kernel to your internal SD card.
That way, in the future, if you try out other kernels & want to go back to to the CM10 kernel you'll be able to flash just the kernel (with Mobile Odin or Odin) without having to flash the whole rom (whenever you flash a new CM10 build, do this step immediately afterwards so you have a copy of the latest kernel).
Or....you could ask in the CM10 discussion thread, tho you'd be able to do the above 50 times in the time you'd wait to get an answer/a link to just the kernel
Nice, didn't realise there was such app that can do that. Thanks
Of and do you think it will work with stock Ics kernel? I don't see why not tbh

Yep. You can dump any kernel with kTool & then flash the kernel with Odin/Mobile Odin.
