Yes this is the reason, devs are starting to resent each other because noobs are doing what they always have. Genius.
Devs love to dev. If they don't do it here, you can find them by doing a little searching. The problem is like any work place, organization, etc.....basically anywhere people are involved with other people everything gets ****ing political.

its great the devs want to leave because they are open to make their own rules. they are mad that admins arent doing their job and getting pissed off and packing their bags. now, they are making their own sites and are going to tear noobs a new one every time something is asked. so therefore, the users are going to leave.
nothing will last without users, these developers do great work but when users leave so do donations and people willing to try their roms out.
Maybe the famous enough that they don't need xda anymore lol, who knows man you will get some either way, developers come and go, life changes all the time, you notice more if your a flashaholic like I used to be I got tired of flashing more then on ROM at day so I enjoy life more and actually use my phone more often pics look great on this phone BTW

You act like the developers need users, when it fact, it's the other way around lol. Developers first and foremost develop for themselves and then later share what they made with the world. No Rom developer is getting rich off this, it's a hobby.
There's a reason you dont see developers asking where the users are, but you see plenty of threads from users asking that question.
Users will go where the developers are or they wont get their work.
Devs are probably sick of all the useless comments people post that are useless. The flaming and so on...

Xda has been talking about this on the portal for a while now. According to this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1368950&page=2, the latest system update has stopped the phone from reporting information. Anyway you look at it is ugly.

Xboarder posted on a thread about faux123 finding some info in the OTA update .6 that HTC either removed or deactivated the "data recorder".
I don't remember which thread I read it in though.
Just search all of X's posts maybe.
It's not just in HTC. It's Android in general, and Blackberry, and some other OSs

Why am I not surprised to see it Android wide? Don't know about the other OSs, but Google has a pattern of invasive practices.
But this one sounds over the top. Enough that the justice department should be looking at it.

It's not Google. It's the carriers whom are customers of CarrierIQ. They are the makers of CIQ, the app/service/rootkit in question.

Most people need a reason to root, not a reason not to. Personally, at this time, I have no compelling reason to root.

Mike1986 recently confirmed that ciq has been addressed already in his ROM. Still waiting to see with xboarder when his roms will be CIQ-free. He has been busy though.

Since xboatder's ROMs are based on .6. they should be OK.

I've scanned QuikSense with Logging App test by TrevE and confirmed no CIQ on QuikSense
I've also scanned my Amaze with TrevE's Logging Test App and no CIQ was found.
Any carrier who installed CIQ is going to see an avalanche of lawsuits - and rightly so. CIQ is as invasive malware as it gets - it logs everything - passwords, encrypted data, emails/text messages. If you get access to CIQ data stream, you have access to everything.
I just wonder how much spyware the likes of the NSA have built deep into cellphones - probably got some zealous "anti terror" whackjobs willingly inserting malware to track people - all hyped as a way to get Bin Laden and cronies, no doubt. But in reality, ensnares Joe Consumer instead.
I saw many post regarding this CIQ fragmenting all over XDA's subforum. Instead if XDA Admin or someone with high reputation or even better TrevE himself open one single thread and unified everyone voices into one solid thread - it'll be much, much more powerful if we have to stand-up against those guy - proably with some kind of Big Brother backed them up just for their conveniences if ever their needs arise
IMHO, NSA wouldn't bothered to tracked every single citizens in this country but they would love to have some litle guy doing the dirty job for them - in this case CIQ is clearly is.
If we don't stand up behind TrevE we may ended up loosing the case. With their monies and ties with other organization's affluence, the worst scenario is they will send an patch OTA for us to opt=out and the rootkit still remained deep inside our property

I would also like to say that he has not asked for anything from anyone. I am doing this because he has done a lot of work for the community and never asked for anything in return. It's not that he needs the money or the device. I started this because he is another dev that we can add to the TFP and someone who is proven to make quality ROMs. I'll be donating my $15 to him either way. I just thought it would be a nice gesture to show him that the community values devs like him and others enough to help them out a little. I can see why devs are leaving XDA left and right.
These devs do this stuff for FREE and a lot of them never ask for anything in return and there are people who insult them and are completely ungrateful. I don't know how to develop and I know these devices aren't cheap. This is my way of helping them out for helping me keep my device new to me. I have had the same phone since the Evo 3D came out in July and I still get to flash new ROMs every week. I don't get bored with my phone that will be way outdated here very soon! I can't afford to go out and buy phones/tablets every time something new comes out.
EDIT: Guess I should have looked at your join date and post count before going into all that. If you haven't been here before this month and haven't flashed a new ROM or kernel, there is no way you'll understand. It's about appreciation and respect for the devs.

And your point? It clearly says that any threads are done so by your own free will. Nowhere does it say that they cannot be done and I personally have seen them work and seen a few devs get devices. I'm not saying that anyone HAS to do this. It would just be a nice gesture to a great dev.

Hell yea man! Thanks for stopping by this thread. I love your ROMs. You were the first to do a lot. I haven't been genuinely impressed with many ROM devs but you and a couple others have really impressed me! We need a dev over here who can not only compile CM9 but keep up with it.
It seems that everyone who has put CM9 out isnt even maintaining it. Hope we get to see what you can do with this beast!

Man, no love for JoelZ huh? That sucks. Would have loved to see what he could have done with this thing. He made some badass ROMs for the 3D, which doesn't even have an ICS leak yet. Could only imagine what he could get done with something that has official ICS.

I think a lot of people (myself included) are waiting for the supposed GPS/WiFi fix that is supposed to start happening near the end of this month. I personally will wait to see the results of RMAs to see if I will send mine in. Can't send it in if the warranty is voided.
I have used Joel's PrimeXL for the Evo and I still use it to duel boot between Honeycomb and ICS. It would rock if we could get him to develop for the TFP.

So we have S-Off now. Therefore, there are no excuses not to be supported in Cyanogen minus the source code and Offical OTA of the ICS update. Am I correct? Miui, Cyanogen, and AOSP/AOKP . I hope the ball starts rolling because I'm estatic!!! Post in and tell me the truth and your opinion.
The ball has been rolling. S-Off has nothing to do with AOSP/AOKP. DMeadows and I'm sure others has been working on a Cyanogenmod port for some time now. Protekk recently joined the quest as well. Read up in the dev section

s-off doesn't mean AOSP, MIUI, etc.
As stated about a thousand times before the RIL, which is what is holding us back, is not going to be any easier to get with s-off.

I don't think the s off is going to bring any devs that wouldn't have taken on the project while it was s on. Most of the devs who walked away from the rezound early on did so because early on the user base was rude, demanding, appreciative, and many were unintelligent and appreciative.
It has improved, there's a lot of really respectful and brilliant rezound users, and there's a lot of great devs among us, but as a whole, maybe due to the marketing of such nice hardware being based on "beats" there's still a lot of drama and unneeded crap being stirred up by a few bad apples.
The aosp ball started rolling last week again with protekk deciding to take on RIL, and others will also contribute to the effort.
S-off is greatly appreciated by me and a huge help to the community as a whole. But it's definitely not what was holding up AOSP in my opinion. I don't know any devs who would be asked to help out on the RIL by a friend of theirs and would say "no way I'm touching that because that phone is s on with an oem unlocked bootloader.

See, this is how it is supposed to be. Just spent about 20 minutes with the op, holding my hand through setting up system tuner pro while he's helping 2 others on gtalk at the same time. I'm glad to see that, like myself, others are still willing to help people out. Huge thanks bro.

I have a gtalk too.
Maybe you should make a list of people that are available to consult and have it stickied so people go there first instead of posting another thread. It's probably faster to get help from someone in gtalk anyway.

We should try it. I know there are tons of smart people that would love to help out if we made like a Rezound Geek Squad or Rezound Tech Support or something like that haha

Look, this is not what I meant by posting this thread. I can't in good faith just let anyone start giving help to other. I had a similar case a while back where someone else told the person to relock the bootloader and he had an eng Hboot. I am sorry, this is not meant to be a sign up list or anything like that. I have interacted with dyetheskin before and have seen his abilities. I am asking that people please not post here unless it is a request for help or you have a quick question.

I guess no help squad then. I'll just continue helping people anyway.
I didnt mean it to be that way. I just never meant it to turn into this. This was me offering people who needed help, help. I think its awesome that others willing to help. If you can help them then do so. Im not saying dont.

I may end up throwing an A-Team together to help others. So many people need help and I am only one person. Maybe 3 or 4 guys that will go above and beyond to help others. I have had several people offer to help, why not utilize the people offering to help. Stay tuned.

Agreed. My gtalk is [email protected] (its an ancient email account) don't hate :b. Back when I had a Droid 2 I helped a lot of people on droidforums.

As of right now, i have 3 others that I trust to help others. You all have to realize that some times I get asked questions in which if I were wrong I could damage the phone. When I talk about helping others I try to provide 100% accurate info. I would also want anyone else that I have to do the same.

You could make it the people you trust and other people would need to be qualified like a recognized contributor or something. I understand what you mean when you say it can be dangerous but I really think with the right people that having a group or list of people you can contact for help would really benefit the rezound community and maybe inspire other device communities to do the same.
