There isn't a 2.3.5 XEU update. 2.3.4 is the latest for the uk.

Hello guys, just wondering what's the latest firmware for your beloved SG2 on KIES?
I've connected mine to KIES and no new firmware is reported hence the reason for raising this question!
Baseband: XXKE4
Kernel: XWKE7
Thanks!
You have the latest one for a UK unbranded phone.
Thanks for the reply!
I bought a SGII off ebay and after a few hours of reading I'm totally confused about how to debrand the phone. The original owner received the phone from Vodafone Ireland and rooted it to unlock it. Below are the phone specs
Android- 2.3.3
Baseband version- I9100BUKG1
Kernel-2.6.35.7-I9100XWKE2-CL187606 root-DELL101#2
Build- GINGERBREAD.BUKG2
I just want to get rid of all the vodafone software and other bloatware. Im not interested in rooting the phone.
From my research I should go for the latest XEU firmware (Im in Malta, Europe) which is XWKF3
GT-I9100_XEU_I9100XWKF3_I9100XXKE7_I9100XEUKD1
Is this correct? It seems older than what I have.. I dont mind, like I said I just want to debrand without ending up bricking the device. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Any stock rom removes branded stuff .

This package has: PDA:XXKG6| PHONE: XXKG6| CSC:XEUKD1

If you want XEU UK firmware .

Click to collapse
Thanks JJEgan, and just to confirm, the only downside to using these Franenstein builds is that I cannot use Kies to upgrade the firmware?
I just installed the firmware below as advised but I'm still seeing all the Vodafone bloatware. Everything went perfectly s described in the official thread. Did I do something wrong?
Factory reset your phone .
Phone should now be
PDA:XXKG6| Baseband : XXKG6| CSC:XEUKD1

Thanks, that worked perfectly!
Hi All,
Just spend a while on here looking around to try and figure it out and I think I have most of it figured out, but now i'm confused...
I've just update my phone to 2.3.4 official, running xxKI1. Now I want to root it, using stock rom.
On the list i've found that I need to download this one:
Firmware info
PDA:XWKI4
PHONE: XXKI1
Date: 14/09/2011
Android 2.3.4
Now i'm confused if i need - XEU (UK) or CPW (UK)
Am I just being blind? Sorry if it's a simple answer...
Thank you all,
wrexe
A friend of mine has a samsung galaxy s2 with basebandversion I9100XXKE4 and when i looked which version of android it was running i was surprised to see version 2.3.3 was installed. Because i had version 2.3.5 before i used another baseband version update to go to ICS ... Looking arround on the web i could not find a more recent version of Android for her phone. (btw also still no official ICS version for the i9100XXKI3) So I had on my phone a baseband version I9100XXKI3 and i updated using Odin with an ICS package which had I9100XXLPR baseband No problems until now. Now running CM9.
You guys think i can also use this (xxLPR)package to update her I9100XXKE4 ?
We both live in HK. Only difference is she is on PCCW and i am on Smartone

XX ROM series had plenty of official updates after 2.3.3, among them three ICS ROMs. Latest is LPW.
Just follow this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278
and pick up whatever ROM you feel like (you may also follow your product code).

Yes, you can. Only thing is if you flash stock firmware for another region you may have problems getting OTA updates for your region in the future. Which isn't a huge problem as you can also simply flash these via Odin when they're released if you do have difficulties.
I've had a look at Checkfus (PC version) & it tells me most recent update for I9100/Hong Kong was ZSLPG on 06/04/2012. So I guess you could go with LPR like you did, or you could get Checkfus & use this ICS build, which might mean no problems with OTA updates in the future (but no guarantees).
Hi all like many I am waiting for the Official BTU update however after checking I am sure I am running on the correct stock ROM for UK. I am trying to get to a position where I have the latest unbranded ICS 4.0.4 so when the 4.1.1 BTU version is released I can update OTA
Could someone please help? My results from *#1234# are posted below
