I just purchased the Seidio Active case from Amazon. This is the site. When I ordered from Amazon, I made sure to get the same product ID number. It should arrive next week. I'll let you know how it is.
Jim
Received the case today. I have never owned a Seidio case before. It is the Active case. To fit the phone in, you have to remove the hard plastic exo-skeleton from the soft rubbery case. You then slip the phone into the soft rubbery case and then fit the exo-skeleton around that. It fastens at each corner and in the middle of the long sides.
The microphone hole at the top is about half covered by the soft rubbery case. I think I can make the hole bigger with a paper clip or something sharp. The bottom microphone hole is perfect. The plastic exo-skeleton has a bit of a rubbery grip to it. It doesn't slide into my pocket as easily as the old silicon case I had.
The thing that bothers me the MOST is the lip around the phone face. It sits fairly high off the screen of the phone. It's irritating to hit the space bar on the keyboard when in landscape mode. Of course, I'll get used to it. It's definitely better than the silicon case from Worst Buy. I just wish that Speck made a candyshell case for this phone. It'd be an instant purchase for me.
Just got mine from eBay. I had o e for my cappy and loved it

Good luck, I used an Innocase on my Captivate and was rewarded with a lot of scratches and scuffs on the body of the phone.
With cases like these, you should occasionally take them off to clean out the dust that gets trapped in and causes those scuffs.

I don't know. I'm guessing no, since most other cases don't have the room. I'm also not sure how this phone could get scratched due to dust between the case and the phone. The case is soft rubber, so it's unlikely to get scratched. I'm still trying to get used to putting this in my pocket. haha

So I discovered that my voice sounds muffled when I have the case on. I removed the case and sounded better. So I guess I have to adjust the hole in the soft rubber. Not sure how best to do it.

Get a small screw driver/normal sized nail and heat it up on the stove or with a lighter. Works great. Just be quick so that rest of the plastic doesn't start to melt.

I actually took a clicker pen, and 'unfolded' the soft silicon over a piece of paper on a plastic cutting board. I placed the hole of the clicker pen over the spot I wanted to "punch out." I twisted both the pen and paper/silicon case combination until it popped out the piece I wanted. It worked amazingly well. I didn't want to use heat as I didn't want the case to look melty. If I had a pen with a metal clicker end (instead of plastic) I could have repeated the procedure again. The secondary mic is not between the I9100 and I777 holes, it's more to the right of those holes. Either way, it's working much better now.
As far as a screen protector...I've had no issues with them not fitting or needing to be modified so that it would fit.

I ordered a couple of these, should be here in a few days.
I got them off of Ebay instead of Amazon, $20 with free shipping for the black one, $23 shipped for the burgundy one.
I'm not sure I'm very happy with this case. I can't talk on the phone without someone telling me I sound muffled and 'far away'.
Well I should be receiving mine today in the mail I hope I don't have the same problems but if I do I'm a tear that whole wide open so that it gets good sound LOL...
Which hole do you think is the culprit the one by the upper microphone or the lower microphone?

I'm starting to think it's both. I'll make my bottom mic hole larger a little later. Something sure is funky.
My girlfriend got hers several days ago, mine is caught up in shipping. I have not noticed any muffled sound from her phone. She sounds crystal clear. She's running a stock SGSII with this case and no screen protector (doesn't come with one unfortunately).
Got my case today I'll have my 3 cents in a few days....

I swear the black plastic on the bottom back of the phone is engineered to get "scuffed" the first time you set it down . Other than that I have some lint in the little gap between the screen and the metal rim around the front.
I'm not going to use cases or screen protectors so all of this can be expected, just wondering how everyone else's is holding up? Any drops yet?

Wow, then I'm guessing we should all come back to this post in a month because you're proably our best durablity test example.
I HIGHLY recoomend a silicon case; protects the phone greatly, and makes it more sturdy to hold!
I got a complete package when I bought my GS2 for 5 euro.. A white and black silicon case, car charger and screen protector. Even though it isnt beautiful, I always keep my GS2 protected by a case
holding out for invisible shield now...
Absolutely fine for me, no marks whatsoever, no slow down of the software.
Have got a little dust around the edges between the edge and the screen.
i never use cases or screen protectors wether in mint or sh*t condition after 1 year who cares its time to upgrade.
sold my SGS after one year for AUD$350 and i never used a case or anything. (hopping to do the same next year with my SGS ii
Don't have any scratches or scuffs on it yet, but that's pure luck...I've managed to drop it twice and both times it landed on something soft. I love the phone but holding it can be a little awkward at times, it's angular shape and width does mean that I often have to shift my hands to accommodate it.
For that reason, I've put on a screen protector and I'm now waiting for an SGP Ultra Capsule Case to arrive. I'm hoping that will make it a bit more 'grippy' and less likely to slip out of my hands. My biggest concern is the camera lens, it seems terribly exposed there on the back of the device and it feels like I could damage it just by putting it down a bit too strongly.
Dropped mine 12 days ago. A juggle managed to launch it to a height of 5ft and then it landed totally flat screen down onto concrete with small stones on it. Shattered glass and non-working LCD.
Still waiting for Samsung to supply a replacement.

.... .. my condolences. Something like that is the only reason I sometimes fantasize about getting a case.
The dust between the screen, how do we get it out? wet qtip?
I got 1 tiny scratch on the bezel around the headphone jack. It happen the second day I had the phone. I've lost hope in the couple screen protectors I've ordered. I just ordered a zagg full body protector. I've got an a official samsung case coming now.
But I have never heavily damaged a phone besides my hd2. I'm like 48 out of 50 in keeping phones in great condition while not using a consistent case.
I truly hate the silver cheap bezel on all phones. Usually the only thing I tend to scratch.

Mine has a slightly weird hardware quirk since I first got it - the chrome border around the glass is slightly raised above the glass on right, but slightly below the glass on the left. It's like the glass is a bit angled / tilted up on the left.

Nope mine is fine.
No scratches, have been using it for a month. I always put it on a cloth on my desk when I'm at home.

To remove the dust between the screen and the border all you need is compressed air. I was trying to get it out tonight by using my fingernail through a microfiber cloth to no effect. I pulled out my compressed air and that got it all out instantly.
On another note, I'm using the official Galaxy S II case until my Invisible Shield arrives in the next couple of days, hoping to convert totally to that and not have to use a case.
Can't you remove the dust in there with a can of compressed air and one of those straw attachments? Actually I might go out and buy one.
I definitely agree with the raised bottom on the back of the phone; mine's scuffed quite heavily although the front of the phone is fine, and IMO that's all that matters. A phone's meant to be used and it'll get scratches and whatnot over time.
I've got a feeling i'll be replacing this further down the track anyway since most of my phones don't look too healthy after the 18 month mark. Also have full insurance/warranty cover...if I happen to lose it they'll issue me a new one. Gotta love Korean telcos.

It is much better than I expected. My only complaint is that the height of the sides next to the screen are so tall that it makes touching the edges of the screen difficult. Other than that, it seem well built and it seems to give good protection. It's no Ballistic HC or Trident Kraken though.

I totally agree, this is my only real complaint with it as well
I usually wear cargo shorts during the summer (not some hipster wearing skinny jeans) so I've never had an issue with the size and fitting it in a pocket. During the winter it's usually in my coat pocket so size is never an issue there either. I like the grippyness of the silicone on the outside, and I like how the camera and all the ports are covered and protected.
I love mine. Was going to also get the Ballistic HC when it came out but now I may just keep using the Defender

I love mine, but like two others pointed out, it's very hard to hit the left/right edge of the screen for things like pulling down the menu in landscape or moving icons between homescreens.
Other issue is the top portion by the speaker is cut-out for the screen protector, letting dust/etc in under the screen protector and smudging the forward camera. wish there could of been another solution, but overall it's an awesome case
Great Case
Highly recommend it. It makes the phone big though, so not recommended if you like to keep it slim. My opinion is Protection > Size.
I agree, the steep edges on the sides make tapping the screen on the edges a pain (the 'q/1' and 'p/0' keys on the keyboard have to be touched with the narrow side of your fingertip, same with games that have small menu buttons on the edge, or if I have the screen in landscape mode, its nearly possible to pull down the task bar because you need a farther reach to the edge than your fingers will allow.
ALSO, surprisingly the built in screen protector doesn't do a very good job at keeping dust out, scratches, yes, dust, no. A drop of water even managed to squeeze past the speaker and the edge of the screen protector and work its way to the middle of my damn screen, leaving water spots and dust. Taking it apart constantly to clean both your phone and email the inside of your screen protector is a huge annoyance because it takes me at least 2-3 minutes of prying it open without feeling like I'm going to break the plastic or snap off a clip that secures the case together when closed. I find that it needs cleaning at least once a week, but its just one of the few cons you have to consider when you want the best protection. No kickstand, but the belt clip holster sort of makes for an extremely bulky substitute. All in all, it's like the hulk, built like a tank, ugly as hell, but it's nearly indestructible. I do wish I could see and feel my beautiful investment in all its slim, sleek and sexy glory again, even run my fingers along the glass, but my luck would be that it would slip out of my hands or pocket, hit the edge of the plastic, chip its way to the glass, crack the screen, scratch the rest, create earthquakes, bring about the apocalypse, dogs and cats living together, mass hysteria, etc.
The Defender seems very well built, protecting my phone from any damage. It becomes a very bulky phone compared to no case at all. As has been mentioned, it's difficult to put the checkmarks on the left or right side, because of the bevel of the sides. I was afraid when I bought it that the cover for the screen would inhibit responsive touch, but it works as if it's not even covered. Very responsive. I'd highly recommend this case for those who are clutsy and drop their phone often.

Same here across the board... Love mine.
A little bit of a pain when I have to swap batteries but not too bad.
With Juice defender ultimate I easily get 10 hours of mixed use out of my cheap ebay batteries and 16 hours out of the original so I normally can get to a charger before needing to charge.
Love mine and think I will probably stay with this case for a while . The only issue I ran into with this case was some callers said I sounded muffled . Now if that has to do with the case or an issue with the phone design itself has yet to be determined . Me personally I took a small triangle shaped file and filed the microphone hole in the battery back to be as big as the actual microphone of the phone itself . Across the board I have heard nothing but "you sound very clear" "not muffled at all" Like I said I cant say it was the case or the phone but either way the issue is resolved
Sadly I have to dissent. The little mechanism which keeps the clip on the holster open (to act as a kickstand) broke on mine after 11 days, got a new one which broke after 10 days (same place). Wanted to like it but for that much money I shouldn't have to exchange a product 3 times a month.
I like mine a lot. The only problem I've had is the one others have mentioned; the sides of the case interfere with typing.
Now I just I need to decide if I'm keeping the Evo 3D.
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA Premium App
Yeah I love mine also. I like to believe that this phone can take on anything now. For me its all about safety, but I agree with aramova's reply. I do sometimes have an issue with the thickness of the bezel. I haven't really had a problem with the dust though. But before you put it on make sure you know how to open it because I a problem with it the first couple of times.
Seems to work great and protects the phone well.
And for those of us who do not use the holster, it can easily be modified to use as a car dock. Since none of the car docks will work with the Defender.
If anyone is interested in how I modified mine, I can take some pics later.
I mounted the holster on to a standard universal suction mount windshield phone holder and used a dremel to put a hole in it so that the power cord can be mounted and plugged in to the phone.
I then use Car Home which stays one when plugged in and has worked very well.
I have it and love it.
Only complaint is that it is creaky and otterbox never posted my review on their website for some reason. Weird.

I've had the rearth case for about 2 months, I like it except when I got it it was slightly loose not enough for me to care but now its loosened to the point where the case is starting to cover the camera and if I push it up the mic and lower speakers are halfway covered

Are you talking about the Ringke or the Ringke Slim? I have both. The Ringke is soft and pliable. I can see it loosening up. The Slim is quite rigid and snaps onto the corners of the phone. The top and bottom are covered, along with the corners, but the sides are exposed down to the controls. This is quite a slim case!
Yea I was, just checked out the slim looks nice, how do you like it?

Ooo, I kinda like this one! Can make our black units, pretty much white and it covers the whole back! But $25...
I've had it on since since day 1. Love it.
I like it better than anything I've tried to date. It's about the "least" amount of case that I've seen. About the only thing that I would change is that being glossy, the back is beginning to show some very minor scratching from being set down on hard surfaces. If Rearth offered it in a matte finish I'd be all over it.
Just bought that case in Noble Black. Will review it upon arrival.
i have used this case and the SGP Neo.
This case is excellent. It's as minimal as can be, fits well, and looks good.
Good case!

This, along with their newer silicone case for the i777 are supposed to have the correct placement for the noise cancelling microphone.
Just got mine in. It does have the mic cut out next to the headphone jack.
Just got mine. Overall I'm digging it. Case is thin and probably doesn't offer much in the way of protection buy that's the price to pay for looks. It being black shiny hard plastic I already see two scratches. Just got to make sure not have the case in the same pocket as my keys and ill be good.
Ok, I am kinda peeved right now. I bought a Diztronic TPU case shortly after purchasing my Note 2. The thing is just so slippery it screamed for grippy rubbery case. Fast forward a couple months and here I am taking my case off to clean out any dust inside it, only to find tiny pock marks all over the back of my phone. I swear it looks like a few grains of sand or something got in there, but I can feel nothing. I can only conclude even fine dust particles can scratch the back if caught between the battery door and the TPU case. Pretty disappointed my case has done more damage than keeping my phone nekkid ever would have. I baby my gear and this thing now looks like &#!$ on the back.
Anyone else experience this? Any better kind of case I should use when I order my replacement back? Or do I just need to be better about cleaning out the case more than once every couple months?
Thanks...

I have had this issue too. I bought a cheap TPU case off of Amazon while I was waiting for my phone to come from VZW and put it on after I had pkayed with the phone for a day. When it went in the case it was perfect, a week after being in it the battery door has deep scratches, the chrome bezel around the camera is scratched badly and the chrome bezel around the screen is DENTED IN! The case actually covered the bezel around the screen so it wasn't something in my pocket that did it, it was something that magically got in and out of the case. And lemme tell you those scratches and dents are especially noticeable on the Titanium Note 2...
After that I ordered 2 CruzeLite TPU cases, or whatever they call their cases, and thise worked much much better, my phone got no more scratches and was pretty welly protected. I still wanted something a little better though because I was still scared that if I dropped it that it would get badly damaged so when the Urban Armor Gear case was finally released I bought it and couldnt be more happy.
The sides are a way thicker TPU rubbery type material and the back is hard plastic. It gives the phone a more sturdy feel, like you could drop it and barely worry about it getting damaged. The few times I have dropped it didnt hurt the phone or the case, it is a very welly built case and doesnt add much more bulk than the CruzerLite TPU cases did. I would definitely reccomend you try one if you like the way it looks, the black and orange look really snazzy in my opinion, but I have a thing for orange soo....

I'm anal about my gadgets too. But when you put the case back on, you won't see the pock marks. If it still bugs you, just replace the plastic battery cover. That is why I prefer plastic instead of an all-metal body. If the battery cover gets messed up, you can always get another one. You can't fix damage on an all-metal phone like the HTC One. Yes it's a beautiful device, but once it gets the first scratch or ding, it will never be the same. Just like the first door ding on a new car

I've had this issue with previous cases on other phones in the past but not this time. What I did is within the first hour of getting the phone I wrapped it in that sticky wrap that's cut for our phone that they sale on Amazon then I put it in the case. One the phone looks sick wrapped up and two if I ever wanna pull the wrap off I will have a brand new phone with not one single scratch. Cause I found over time plugging a phone in every night in the pitch black before you go to bed eventually scratches around the port but not this time.

Yeah I found replacement covers on Samsung's site for $20. I know there's cheaper alternatives but I am always wary of knock offs. The bigger bummer is the sides of the phone are jacked too and ya can't replace those. Sucks. I was hoping to sell the Note 2 when the Note 3 arrived, but my resale value just took a nose dive.

Nice idea. I have a flip cover but I may get a Skinomi to protect the frame.

Here is the clear skin http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B009CFX9RK/ref=mp_s_a_1?qid=1367861210&sr=8-3&pi=SL75 I bought the brushed stainless. I'll take a pic of it tonight. It does take a little skill and patience but everything fit perfect, I discarded the screen protector tho.

I bought the Incipio Case LGND and have no regrets. You can find it on their website here http://www.incipio.com/cases/smartp...-cases/samsung-galaxy-note-ii-lgnd-folio.html or spend a little less and buy it from Amazon. However, I'd pay the extra extra money because it comes with a screen protector, cloth and lifetime warranty if purchased directly from the manufacturer. I don't have any issues with debris getting in between the back cover of the phone and the case. The phone is easy to place into the case and take out.
Always clean your case. At least ecery other day. Sabd and little dust particle will eventually get in there no matter how tight your case is.
As for me, I put on Xtremeguard back protector since I had the white version. I figured I can always peel the back and get higher resale value.
The Good:
-Protection similar to the Otterbox commuter
-Lightweight
-Easier to slide in/out of pockets than Otterbox cases
-Buttons are tactile and responsive
-The edges have the most protection, because usually when you drop your phone it lands on it's edges
-Comes with a free HD screen protector
-Looks gorgeous
The Bad:
-Flash has some knock-back
-The microphone on the LED ring is covered
-Power and Volume buttons are covered, but there are slits on the side so lint and dust might get trapped in there
-UAG logo covers half of the Nexus logo, but you can pop the logo off easily
-No port covers
totally agree with everything you had to say about the uag case. same case i am using for me and my wife.
i do like the case and it is giving me the protection needed.
i really do hope that uag releases some more colors and when they do fix the camera issue so that you don't get ghosting on some of the pictures.
overall very good case, feel very safe with my nexus 6 in it.

Yes, overall a good case. Much better than my Cruzerlite bugdroid one I was using before, couldn't drop my phone from 3 inches using that.
I just got mine and the flash is unusable. I'm keeping it, I widened the flash surround with my Dremel but for the price I think it's unaccept. Seriously, how did uag release this with such a major flaw?
Also, is it possible for the mods to somehow combine the uag threads? There are 3 or 4 at least.
Probably designed and made the case based off CAD dimensions. Never actually tried it in a real phone.

Are you talking about the Cruzerlite? Those cases can take a large drop without hurting your phone. Check out the YouTube video with the Nexus 5 and a Cruzerltie case if you don't take my word for it. I dropped my LG G3 F460S in a Cruzerlite case down stairs over the summer and it was fine. I did break a TG screen protector when I dropped my G3 and it hit a sizeable rock but the phone itself and screen were perfect. TPU cases absorb a lot of the impact and help save your phone. I haven't bought a UAG because of the camera flash issue and the lack of color options but maybe they will release more eventually.
I have one on the way.
Not concerned about flash at all. I never use the flash on any phone EXCEPT for the purpose of a torch to see something.
The mic being covered up may be of concern, however.
That's something a well focused 1W 405nm laser can take care of, however.
All I want is something that will prevent the phone from getting wrecked if one of the kitties gets under my feet while walking down the spiral stairs and I have to toss the phone to grip the railing. Don't laugh, happened in the past and my Otterbox Commuter (on the S3) saved the day!
Don't have (enough) faith in my favorite (Diztronic thin TPU) case to give this kind of protection. I did drop my Note 3 from about six feet with nothing but the Diztronic TPU, fell onto concrete floor with zero damage. Case had slight scuff on corner. If that phone was naked it would have been dinged good so...
The Nexus 6 is pretty heavy so it needs some protection against drops. I'm careful but apparently not careful enough. Taking it on the ATV trails it's going to be well protected. UAG is about as good as Commuter and Speck for class of protection. Speaking of Speck it saved my HTC M7 from a 9 foot drop when getting out of a tractor and it fell onto gravel. Case scratched all to hell but phone was perfect!
How did you pop off the logo?

I just used the tip of my pocket knife.
To avoid damaging the plastic you will need something sharp and thin. I used the tip of an X-acto blade and it worked fine. Take your time! The letters peel easily once you get it started. They can be re-applied if desired.
Also I have no issues with using the flash with the case on.
If anyone has one that's having issues, try measuring the diameter of the cut out. I would be curious if they revised it.

I just ordered one of these cases also.
Is yours covering the mic hole by the camera?

I also do not have a flash problem. It is very close to the mic hole but not covering it.

It would be interesting to see if it was revised. If so hopefully the newer ones are at Amazon where I ordered mine from. Where did you guys order yours from, Amazon or directly from them?
I use the flash so rarely anyways it doesn't matter to me too much. Seems I get glare using the flash when I don't even have a case on.
I ordered mine from amazon and it definitely had flash issues. I would think it's pretty easy to see if there is a problem, it was incredibly obvious for me. Maybe some cases and/or some phones don't have an issue?
I got mine from Amazon last week and definitely do not have any flash issues.
The cutout looks very close to the rear mic.
Tonight I'll fire up the SLR and take a macro of it and post it.
I've had cases in the past with flash issues and can immediately spot them.
This isn't one of them.
It could be a revised version.
If possible could you post a picture of the back of the case with your phone in it? I'm interested to see if it's possible to spot the difference?
Don't know about ghost affect but the case is great. I took few pics in dim light. No probs.
I got mine today. It does seem like the black ring is really close to the camera and almost completely covering the mic by the camera. I don't know how I can tell if the mic is an issue or not. I'll be testing the flash to see how it is also, but I'm not sure if that'll be a dealbreaker for me since I rarely use it.
Ghost effect does exist. I contacted UAG guys, they said , the case will be exchanged with the revised one. But they also said please contact after 3months.
