My phone keeps giving me the "low memory space icon" and I am pulling my hair out about this. I know that I don't have too many apps, I've cleared the caches, etc, basically all the basic baby steps. Rumor has it there's a way to remove some of the stock Sprint apps (Youtube, Amazon, etc) and to move the apps I did download onto my sd card instead of the internal memory.
Please help. The slow phone and the freezing is making me nuts.
My only other problem is that I know nothing about programming/cell phone systems, etc, so if someone would please take the time and pity on me, and give me simple instructions, I would truly TRULY appreciate it.
Download App called Quick System Info . it will show you your internal Memory & your sdcard memory .. by the way do you use Ext-partition ? than just go to the recovery menu and erase it .. Did you try Factory reset ? if you afraid of loosing all your apps than back up it using Titanium Back up.. & you can delete your stock Apps just download paid version of Titanium back up & you can uninstall from there -)

Yes solution is simple.
Go back in time.
Backup data like any sane person would have done.
If your files were that important why didnt you do simple things like make backups to your PC or even just via dropbox app that automatically uploads photo's via wifi?
Try a partition recovery software.
If you cant fix I have no sympathy since its easy to make backups of needed data. No excuse really.

I did give you expert advice. I am an expert in backing up my data in case of device problem or if I somehow decide to format my card.
As I said earlier try a partition recovery software.
Expert Advice:
Follow XDA rule #1 and use search. We have many topics about users formatting cards and then needing to recover data. This is a non-device specific topic so search whole site or even google.
Well you coud try Testdisk and Photorec
the site is cgsecurity
Or option 2 try recuva with deep scan enabled, also the option to scan for lost or damaged files should be turned on.

- Connect your phone trough USB cable and activate mass storage mode
- Depending on what files are lost (probably photos and videos), look for format recover software (Like recovery my files)
- Use it on mounted SD card
PS:
If you have used some part of your internal sd card after formatting, you probably lost some files forever, if you haven't yet, DON'T USE IT BEFORE RECOVERY !!

Give some app suggestions is fine. Once we have those, we know the key terms to search for.
I've tried cg-security apps, they're made for Windows/Linux/BSD etc, but won't install on android.
I tried aidfile installed on Windows but it won't detect the phone internal storage either.
I have all my photos.
I lost a database document that is 760mb. Most backupsoftware (Skydrive, Asus Webstorage, DropBox etc) won't upload it.
I sent the phone for warranty and they formatted my phone, and lost that document. I just need that back. It is in internal storage, there is no sd card on this android.
Try Recuva but don't get your hopes up. Not likely to work. If they've formatted the phone, it's gone. Android isn't like Windoze where 'files aren't really deleted'.
Edit - Also, beware of some (all ?) of the 'data recovery' apps on Google Play. Many (certainly the several I've tried) of the non-paid versions will go through their process of checking, and tell you that your file can be recovered, but you need to get the paid version of the app. You pay for the app, and then find they tell you the file recovers OK (funny about that, right ?) but is 'corrupted' (which is basically bull****, the file can't be recovered at all, but you paid for the app so they have to give you something, right ?) & useless. This scenario is highly likely in the case of a file like the one you're talking about if you do get suckered in by those apps.

You can't undo the formatted, but the data was not really gone, you still can use some data recovery tool to recover your photos.
You can try this guide about how to recover photos from Samsung Galaxy S II.
I recommend you backup your photos with Google Photos, it has 15GB free storage, I think it's enough for your 1 year's photos.

Wow, the guy posted 4 and half years ago, that's too late, don't you think? :silly:
Anyway, Late is better than never
It it possible to somehow recover deleted photos? My little sister deleted all the pictures from my phone (which were in the folder DCIM, in the internal 16gb storage).
If they were stored in an 'accessible' part of the phone that you'd normally be able to access when you connect your phone to your PC via USB, maybe(tho unlikely). Get Recuva (Google it) & try that. There are also recovery apps on Google Play you could try (can't vouch for them working/not working; never used them).
Backups are your friend.
I know it's not useful now, but you should use Dropbox and the automated upload feature.
hope it helps

1. connect your phone to PC via USB.. make sure your internal SD partition have been read by your computer..
2. if you were using Windows, I suggest you use GetDataBack (FAT)..
If you're rooted:

It is possible if the partition can be mounted as a ums device, but the recovery attempt should be made as soon as possible or most of it will be corrupt or unrecoverable, the more the partition is used the more the deleted data will get corrupted.

To recover lost photos from Android internal storage, you may need an Android data recovery to help you. Only the Android data recovery can scan the internal storage after you enable USB debugging.
recover deleted potos
If you have accidentally deleted your important photo from memory card and wants to get them back then don't panic, you can make use of Amrev photo recovery software. It helped me a lot, you can also restore your lost files in few minutes. So download the trial version to check its working speed.
Ofcourse its possible, By using FonePaw Android Data Recovery program you can easily recover your deleted photos, videos, and other files.
Recover lost or deleted photos, videos from Android device
Yes recovery of the deleted photos is possible from the saved backup and if there is no backup, then it is possible with the help of Android Data recovery Tool. Using this application tool, it successfully recovers the lost data from the internal as well as external memory of the android device. for more details visit:

How To Recover Deleted Photos From Android Phone For Free
How To Recover Deleted Photos From Android Phone For Free[/URL], It often happens that you accidentally end up deleting all the pictures stored on the memory card of your smartphones.
Actually, the possibility of deleted photos recovery depends on how the space that was not occupied by the deleted data is it. If the space is occupied by new data, there is no chance to get them back, that is, you took new photos after you deleted the photos you want to recover. If not, you can try to use an Android Photo Recovery tool to recover them.

If you have backup, please turn to your backup immediately, all deleted pictures are here. Sync your Samsung data to backup is a good habit for us when we deleted Samsung data by accident.
But when we no have backup, you have another choice to recover deleted Samsung photos-Eelphone Samsung Photo Recovery, which can scan your Samsung directly, and you can recover from SD card. with USB debugging in your Samsung, you can recover all detected Samsung data.
Hey guys, I realise that I may not be on the correct forum for this and for that i apologise, however I am quite new to this website and don't know my way around.
Anyway, I have recently backed up my whole phone storage to SD card using CWM recovery as there was no option to backup to an internal device. I wanted to take the backup and move it to my computer but I have a HTC One m7 which has no SD card. This isn't normally a problem for me because all the files seem to show up on the internal storage when i look on my computer anyway however despite searching through all of the folders, I simply cant find. The backup is 5gb in total and I know that it has been made sucessfully because my available storage has decreased by 5GB but it simply can't be found. Even when i look at the file manager on my phone I can't see it. Even if I can't move it to my PC I atleast want to be able to delete it, will factory resetting the device remove root access aswell as everything else and will I have to start all over again to delete this hefty 5GB backup?
Thanks for reading
So one of my phone's android just stopped working for no reason AFAIK, and so now it's luck in a infinite boot, so i tried to backup user data in an attempts to recover my internal storage, got 6 backup files, merged them into a .ext4 using this tutorial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cY4cKKimEFU, but it's won't open once in windows using 7z, stating "cannot open the file as [Ext] archive"
so i'm basically stuck now, and i can't just wipe my phone's data either cause i'll loose all my 2FA apps.
edit:
userdata store apps, files, encryption key used for sd when formatted as internal storage and other things like contacts...

already tried these in the past for other purposes, never worked, tried again, and nope, i can see the folder, but i can't the their content, an error pop up
so i have couple thing to say,
first, i reinstalled android using the tool provided by the manufacturer.
second, i had my backup file, made while stuck in infinite boot, restored user data via recovery mode, my apps are back, my data, videos and all that stuff are back, my sd card, formatted as internal storage is back.
2FA apps are backs, codes are still available, everything is working!
so i know those things are stored within the user data backups, i still don't know how to unpack them properly though
