MikShifted G Executive loading slow? - EVO Shift 4G Themes and Apps

I recently switched to this ROM and I've noticed the last couple of days when I unlock the screen it takes aprox 5-10 seconds for the clock widget and my app icons to appear. It dosent have the little black box that says loading but it actts like it should lol. Anybody have a direction they can point me in?

Dowload Cache Cleaner from the market. You should also be rebooting at least daily.

I run Cache Cleaner NG and have it set to use the old cleaning method which is faster and cleans more, it just don't keep logs and I have it set to clean every 12 hours, but I'm guilty of not rebooting, and you can sure tell the difference, I'm gonna go grab dreds reboot app cause I'm very forgetful

Maybe because you deleted everything. Or you're just lucky or imagining things.

Need Settings Testers

This adds a 3d setting to settings>display
i'd like to know if it works because i dont have an evo 3d currently with me to test on
just flash this zip in recovery and wipe cache and dalvik cache Thanks
And id appreciate some fast feedback because id like to include this in my rom that ill release later today
http://www.multiupload.com/GVV1XYP5XA
no 3d setting. put a bunch of new names for the settings like data roaming instead of wireless settings
personal data instead of privacy.
hope that helps
really no new settings?
in settings>display that says 3d homescreen?
I can tell you in a minute, im booting it back up now!
Deleted my settings, i have no settings now!
Forgot to delete cache and dalvike before flash and settings got deleted. Re-wiped then flashed again, and it worked. I turned settings on and home screen was 3d BUT the calibration seemed off it wouldn't return to normal when I stopped moving phone

SHOTS FIRED!!! From 3 Dimensions!
First try no settings...second try seems as if it worked but is off. I tried taking a screen shot but it doesn't come out good enough to see. Very close though...good work
*update, I tried calibrating and it seems better but not 100%. I shall try some more and see what happens then update post.
**update, ummm I have no settings now. All I did was power down completely and reboot. Now I tap settings and nothing happens. From the pull down bar I hit All Settings and get the below error.
The application Status Bar (process com. android.systemui) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.
Can't seem to get my settings back :-(
Ive redone this 3 times and still no settings, but im getting an error, no sd-ext when i wipe dalvik

Hey... I noticed this in the update script...
mount("ext4", "EMMC", "/dev/block/mmcblk0p23", "/system")
i just so happen to have my SD partitioned with an ext4, alongside with a 1gig swap partition [irrelevant]. idk just saying, might be helpful to have the ext4 right?
so i wiped both caches, flash, and wiped both again... boot up, and i have no settings (click menu>settings, doesn't work)... I checked the app drawer, and also, no settings there. So then I used root explorer to delete Settings.apk from /system/app... and then i added in your copy... Unfortunately, I forgot to enable non-market installs (fresh rom install). So, I'm reflashing the rom, and then you zip....
Works for me...Did you include a setting for the dock in it?
EDIT: I Turned it off because it is annoying when it just moves randomly as i move my phone when i dont want it to lol

[Q] cyanogenmod 7 slow

Hello guys
I'm new ith this rom I jut downloaded it yesterday It' very nice and very speed in every place expect the launcher(ADW) When i opened any app and this click home button it takes a few seconds to write widgets and icon
I have only 1 screen with 3 widgets and 3 icons !!!!!
why it's slow like that should I do some thing or download another launcher or what?
please help me!!
well i guess u dont need to download anything or any other launcher and i guess its the cm7 behaviour ..
but I heard it ill make my phone very faster
Maybe it's your phone that dosen't work with Cynaogenmod well
but every thing expect the home screen works good
The app(s) dosen't work well in Cyanogen?
NOOOOOOo it works very well
but the home screen only
I meant the widgets don't work well
the widget works well but it takes some seconds to appear also icons
I mean the launcher seems to start again every time
When i have Widgets on my U8300 it takes some time (Like 10 secs)
EDIT: What phone?
why??
this is the question we should find a reason
lg optimus me
The launcher only is the slow
it seems it starts again every time i press the home button
So what should I do install Another rom or launcher
Try reinstalling the stock rom and see if that works (If it dosen't it's the phone)
Will it delete my apps??
OR DATA??
Yes but just sync contacts to google and use titanium backup
dude.....it works fine on optimus .did u wipe cache and dalvik ?if yes den..maybe u ve put too many widgets that suck the ram..try less widgets den try.if the problm is still der den try reflashing
I got the idea
That I'm cm7 when you you click back button you close the app you don't. Close it but u should enable the back long press app close

Sounds like your launcher is getting forced out of memory often, thus making it 'redraw' home all the time. This happens a lot on older phones with low ram. To fix the problem on my droid 1, lock the home app in memory. There is a setting for this in the CM settings. The purge assets setting also helped me with overall performance.
Most likely it your phone having issue since I have use CyanogenMod in various device and most doesn't have issue. Since CM7 is the most stable ROM I could say is out there.

Sense soft reboots - Fix?

I've been suffering from sporadic sense restarts for a couple of weeks now, usually after heavy app use and when using the 'back' key to get back to the main screen. I've tried uninstalling programs and removing widgets to try and isolate the problem with little success. However, I may have stumbled upon it's root cause...showing the weather on the lock screen.
Right before a sense restart one day I briefly saw the weather lock screen flash which I thought was peculiar, so I disabled it (set it to the basic wallpaper) and it has been running perfect ever since! Also the lag moving from screen to screen that was happening from time to time is totally gone now as well. It's like the turbo has been turned back on....
I'm not sure if this is a coincidence, or possibly gets sense below a memory threshold that's the underlining issue, but I thought I'd pass it along to see if it helps others that have been experiencing the soft restarts as well.
Yeah, I have been having the same reboot screen problems with Sense even without the Weather lock screen. It makes me like Sense more and more after I really liked it on the TP2, OG Evo, and Evo 3D.

E This has been covered in a number of threads. Weather in and of itself is not the culprit, it's the resource use and how much of that sense and the Sense loader takes up. A search will show many discussions

ALL of Sense's lock screens take up about 50MB of data. Productivity, Weather, nothing but the wallpaper.. they're all the same.
The best bet is if you're root to delete HTC's lockscreen, saving 50MB, and going with stock ICS. You have to unlock to answer phonecalls, but it's worth it.
Also, get a different launcher like nova or apex. Even if they have to restart they're MUCH quicker than Sense.
try my rom
ive never had sense reboot
From more experimenting it looks like it's not the weather lock per se, as soon as I added a battery widget I started getting restarts again. It's like Sense gets to a certain memory usage and the restarts ensue. The last thing I did before it stopped restarting was change from the weather lock, so it's quite possible it was on the edge and the weather graphics/etc. put it over the threshold.
Anyways, a custom ROM is definitely next on my list, would have already done if I could get into wallet to reset.....
Did you try changing the build prop? I did that to reset my wallet so I could Rom it.
You don't have "Don't keep activities" checked in developer options do you? I had that checked and it it caused sense to restart constantly... As it should, I wasn't thinking when I checked it.

No, not checked. Background process limit is set to 'standard' as well although I did try different settings under that with little success.

Regarding resetting the wallet..
I edited my build.prop to have ro.device or something along that to say htc_jewel instead of just jewel. I was able to get into wallet, and I used that lucky break to clear out my wallet settings so I could wipe out the OS.

[SOLVED] Does not restart to home screen??? Anyone else?

EDIT: Problem was tied to a poker widget. Whatever page the widget was on was getting set as the first page you would see after you unlock from a restart.
The issue is minor, but still annoying. I am on the new OTA stock rooted LazyPanda S-OFF (previously on viperRom and it did it there too), and every time I restart the phone and go to unlock it the first time, it takes me to the screen just to the left of my home screen. If I hit the home button, it goes to the proper home page, so I have no idea what is going on. The only thing I can think that is causing it would be wiping cache and dalvik after I get a ROM up and running like I like it to do a minor update. When I was on viperRom and he put out a small update, I went and wiped those 2 and flashed the update and (I THINK) the problem started. Recently I flashed the new stock rooted ROM and got it all set up, then flashed wiped cache and dalvik to flash the wiper fix update and now I am going to the wrong home screen after restarts. Surely there is something I can modify to correct this. I just makes me worry that other things that I don't see might also be messed up.
I have searched everywhere for this, but seeing as how the keywords are all very common, I am not having any luck. I have posted this in various threads of the ROMs I have used, but nobody ever responds. Hoping more people will see this here and maybe I am not the only one.
Thanks!
Seriously, I am the only one? Does anybody at least know how to fix it or at least where to look?

I've had this happen before but that was just because when I turned the phone off I wasn't on the home page. I was a page to the left of the home page so when I turned the phone off and back on it took me back to the page I was on before I shut the phone off. That's all I could think of to cause that especially if you hit the Home button and it goes to the correct page. Try this. Leave it on the home page and turn the phone off. Turn it back on and see what page is displayed.
The other issue could be that the page you think is your home page really isn't and is actually a page to the left. That's why it reboots to that page and not the actual home page.Just a thought
Try rearranging your screens by pressing home twice then click and drag until the one you want us in the center.

The one I want is in the center with the home icon in the corner. This is the screen that by default is the home screen (one with the clock widget) and I have not added or removed any screens since flashing or installed any mods or themes.

So did you actually have this same problem? I have never tried a different launcher and this does seem to be a minor oddity.
Yeah I did have that...it would start up to a black screen the first time I unlocked at lockscreen. I also got rid of the HTC lockscreen apk so I'm using nova launcher and aosp lockscreen.

When you are on the home screen press home again. This will show all your screens. The one with the house icon in the lower right corner is your home screen. You can move them around to the order you want.
Yeah, and my home screen is set correct. It goes to it fine when I hit home, but is wrong after a restart the first time I unlock.

I've had my phone unlock directly to my dialer after a reboot before but not a different homescreen.
Just try deleting all your homescreen and testing which one is your center one. Maybe it will reset whatever is messed up

So after doing some removing of panels on my phone, I figured out the problem is tied to a widget that I have on that page for a Poker app that I play. Whatever page has this widget on it, gets set as the first page you see after you unlock from a restart (and only after a restart). Really weird and I guess that is why I am one of the only ones with this problem since I bet most people don't use the widget (I get extra chips for using it). Thanks everyone for your input in helping me solve this.
