Hello. I've read some topics, but me and a friend can't get our SGS2's to record fine, how it should! After I updated to a new Revoluion ROM (2.1 i think, not sure), my record quality dropped when the camera tries to focus it gets really laggy and the fps rate drops really low for the 1-2 upcomming seconds. I saw some threads about this here, but I couldn't find a solution.
From what I understood, the problem comes from Samsung's Camera.apk update. Right now I have SCEE09, but when I first had the phone (stock) and with the first version of Revoluion I had no problems. I don't know what fw I had then.
So I'm asking if there is a way to get back to a previous camera.apk version, where there isn't this record problem. And too, what's that version.
*If I change exposition to -2 there is no more slutting, the record works great, but it's really dark and it's not the best solution. So, I am trying to get a previous version of camera.apk that will work with my ROM and which will make my phone record how it should.
Thank you very much, I'll really apreciate it!

Hey guys im having an issue trying to save videos that people send to me. When they send the video. Its being broken into multiple pictures and a sound file.
I want it to default so it will save the file AS the video. not screenshots and a sound file.
Im running firmware 2.2.1 on baseband S:i500.04 V.EB01 with kernal 2.6.32.9
with Build SCH-I500.EB01
Sounds like you have a messed up MMS system. Maybe take some time to revert back to stock and then flash the new community rom? I know after I flashed I tested that particular feature and it worked correctly.
Here is the thing. Everything else works fine. Im using the DarkRevenge rom. Its epic. But I tried going back to stock and it works fine obviously. But when I put everything to my phone, it doesnt receive the mright
Good morning everyone
Seems to be that my GSII has serious issues running his stock rom (continuous reboots, not-working 3g etc.). I tried several factory resets, but nothing worked 100% . CM fixes some of my problems, but the only full-working custom rom is MIUI, that seems to be stable and very neat. Despite that I still prefer the custom rom (yes I'm probably insane), or a more traditional one like CM and I really would like to understand what kind of problems can generate such a massive amount of errors and reboots.
Could be a hardware problem? MIUI works fine, I can't explain why I still got problems with other ROMs.
Sorry for my bad English, thanks in advance
Without telling us the version of the stock rom you are using, we can never give you any answers.
I'm currently using
2.6.35.7-I9100XWKDD-CL161513 [email protected] #2 Kernel
Gingerbread.xwkj3 Build
That's not the original stock ROM, just one I found (here on xda I guess...)
Is there some kind of hardware-check I can run by myself, just for exclude manifacturing defects?
if you want to check to exclude hardware defects, u could go to the dialer and press *#0*# .. it will give u a list of tests which allows u to pinpoint any hardware defects ( if it exists) .... but if the problem is with the 3g, you could reflash your modem..
Initial problems were strictly connected with 3g's use, after a few hours of use i've noticed slowdowns using sms, then it started crashing and random rebooting. That's the same reason why I initially switched from original ROM to CM. I mean, I know that Samsung's ROM is not the best one at all, but I can't figure why it's so instable on my device.

As that the oldest stock rom try a newer one .

Updating: now my GSII works with latest stable Cyanogen, except for the 3g that's still not working. Should I reflash modem, as suggested by roophz?
That old kernel is known to cause random reboots.
Update to a newer stock rom.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
Update 2: I switched from the old stock rom to the latest cyanogen stable version, then to a newer stock rom and then back to MIUI again. Still no life signals from 3g.
How is that possible?

Just head over to the Dev section and select one of the many GB roms available for the player and flash. Looks like you have a INT version so flash INT version of a GB rom and you are good to go.
Hi, thought that might be the case, I guess I'll need odin installed, the right SGP drivers, and then start the SGP in download mode, connect and use odin to flash the stock GB rom. Is it just the ROM I need then, and woudl I need to wipe/format the SGP so there would be no legacy stuff (I only use it for music/video playback), so really its the same process as if I was going from Gingerbread to ICS, anyways thanks very much, I'll get some research done!!!
Hi!
I just flashed SuperNexus 2.0 M1 into my Galaxy S3 and I REALLY love it! Fastest and easiest ROM I've ever tried. Just one little thing. When I pair the phone to a BT-headset it doesn't work on some headsets and where it does work I can't switch back to phone.
For instance, if I pair the phone with my car stereo and answear a call, I can't switch back to talk from the phone. And I read something about that I could flash another modem to the phone and it will work. Read the last post here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2153728
Has anyone encountered the same problem and solved it? If I'm going to test with another modem how should I do and what shall I choose?
It's too bad, because I really love the idea of the stock Android experience on my Galaxy S3.

Hi, my camera app (or any camera app for that matter) won't show what I'm shooting at but instead a blank screen. I can take a picture and it still works but it's a little hard to know what I'm shooting at. I tried instagram and tumblr and had the same problem. I've tried installing a camera rom from xda forums VR Stock AOSP Camera Build6 with no luck. I'm at a loss as to what to do here because I use my camera frequently and have run out of ideas. Someone please help me. My phone is an AT&T Samsung Galaxy SII which is rooted, if that helps. Thanks in advance. I noticed earlier that when I give up and press the back key for just a second I can see a blurry picture instead of the blank screen. What could be causing this. I'm running Siyah 3.4.2 on an i777.

Siyah 3.4.2. is old and outdated, so if you're running a newer rom with it you'll have trouble like this. Before anyone can properly help you, what rom are you trying to run with 3.4.2?
ROM
Well I was running carbon at first but was disappointed with it so I went back to the factory ROM. I'm doing some research now to try and pick a new ROM to go with. I reflashed my phone with Odin and am now running Android version 4.0.4 Kernel version 3.0.35-Siyah0v3.4.2. Should I be choosing a different kernel? Update I'm now using Android version 4.0.4 and Kernel version 3.0.15-0-Siyah-s2-v4.1.5+
Problem Solved
Flashed a new kernel to upgrade to 4.1.2
