firefox and a few other apps on my phone dont seem to work on wifi but work fine on 3g.
I am running a flashed (to cricket) and rooted tbolt (with all the proxies for cricket service on the 35 dollar plan) currently running
sky raider zeus 1.3
android 2.3.4
sense version 2.1
2.6.35.10 kernel
pri version 1.41.02 1.64_002
friend stream works fine over wifi, as well as all but a few apps (one comes to mind)
I have tried it on a few networks and no difference, also i have updated the facebook app as well
any ideas?
You could try to reflash or reinstall those apps
i forgot to say,
I have reinstalled roms, apps, cleared the cache, tried different roms, radios, networks..... I am baffled
anyone???
apps soo far are
Facebook (app only)
Craigsphone (craigslist app)
DH (datehookup, dating website app)
Sorry I can't answer your question, but I have a question of my own.
Was the custom rom on your phone when you flashed it successfully, or was it the stock rom at the time?
Thanks, and I hope you find your solution.

sorry just re-read your post. The phone was rooted prior to the flash to cricket and during the process I flashed the synergy infected rom.
I have now restored the synergy infected rom and it had a working (over wifi) version of facebook.
So I now know it is a facebook app issue and not an issue with my phone
Several other folks (unrooted) are having similar issues; just check the Facebook app reviews. I've been having similar difficulty with a handful of other apps (just Wikipedia and Google Reader so far, though Wikipedia's last update resolved it).

Thanks guys, sorry if it seems noobish, just dont wanna brick (mrs will be mad at me lol)
i my self flashed gingerblur 3.1 then 3.5 straight over via sd card with the boot recovery menu
however i had a few networking issues which was fixed once i entered my correct apn details

anyone?
i soft bricked by atrix using a theme, didnt follow instructions proper and adb is not active now
or shall i just flash 2.1.1? to fix it?
my wifi doesnt work right. it will connect for a few minutes then it just stops working. i have cm 7.0.3., radio 7.08.35 and kernel 2.6.32.17 by miguel. i have done wipes and have tried a few different kernels. wifi will work for a few minutes then just stop. if i turn off wifi for a while and turn it back on it will work for a few minutes again. anybody have any advice?
As an update I flashed the salsa rom and its required kernel and wifi works fine now. However, I don't like this rom very much. I like CM. Does anyone know of a good working cm rom and kernel combination? I also have updated my radio to 7.15... Thanks
tried cm again and the same issue is back. cm 7.0.3-slide rom, 2.6.32.17-cyanogen mod-g46ca326 [email protected] #1 kernel, 7.15.35.16 radio. i cant understand what is going on
try the old CM6 and its variations? if you don't like Sense roms, then the froyo roms are the only one i had no wifi problems (other than Sense roms).
Try one of the newer CM roms (7.1 RC1 for instance). I used to have this problem all the time on CM7, but after HTC released the drivers for this device out to the community and then it was incorporated into CM7 I have not had problems with Wifi since.
I don't honestly know when that actually happened, but I bellieve it was after 7.0.3. I have been running 7.1 RC1 ever since the day it came out and have not had the problem at all. It is possible that may work for you.
Here is a link to it, which I just got from the main thread. CM7.1RC1
i will try it now. thank you for your help.
tried it. same problems
I've also had this same problem with both roms. I don't know much but I would say this isn't just a CM7.1 or Salsa problem, it seems to be a problem with either 2.3 or kernel compatibility with our beloved MT3G.
I think you are definitely right that it is a problem with 2.3 and how it works with the slide but it is a VERY hit and miss issue. Like I say, I had the problem with every CM7 nightly up through like 80 something and then those drivers were released and it started working for me. I am not sure if I did something different when I flashed the ROM or not but I was ecstatic when it did start working. Hopefully you guys are able to get it worked out, I know how frustrating it is. I went without Wifi for quite some time just because I liked CM7 that much but I am much happier with it working.
One other thing to try (again since I am no longer having this problem I am trying to think of things that I have done) is to be sure you have the latest radio flashed that was pulled from the 2.2.1 build. I have always had that radio so it is not something I often consider, but be sure you have flashed that. I will let you know if I can think of anything else.
There were two issues opened for this since the CM7 nightlies have been coming out. They are
http://code.google.com/p/cyanogenmod/issues/detail?id=3304
and
http://code.google.com/p/cyanogenmod/issues/detail?id=2153
It may be worth your noting in them that you have problems with the newer builds. I am not sure if they have fallen off the map yet as problems, but if so you may need to resurface in order for CM to fix them.
I had this same issue back on CM.
I was able to resolve it by installing S-Off through AlphaRev. Once this was done there are two wifi files that need to be replaced. They are ripped straight from the OTA rom.
I'm currently running CM7 nightly 124 and have not had an issue.

Did you do the official T-Mobile 2.2 update? That updates the hboot and the latest hboot isn't supported. You can push these files in recovery. You just got to mount system in recovery and push using adb.
I really need help. I rooted my phone 2 days ago, worked fine, then I was on gingerbread installed a custom rom which is Sky ICS 4.2D-10. Don't worry, I updated each one to get the 4.2D-10. Anyways. The rom worked fine on my phone, just one problem, which is the Internet(Data). It wouldn't work. Btw I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 LTE SGH-I727r, I'm on Rogers Network.
Basically I have 2GB of Data. I couldn't access in the internet anywhere outside my house without wifi.. the text, calls works, but not the data. Can someone please help me so I don't waste this.
Edit: Fixed the problem. APN of Rogers was wrong.

This is an Custom ROM or a Official ROM?
If is custom, this is ROM bug, because isn't stable. But if is official, you have to flash another ROM to test. If the data works, ROM problem.
If not, it might be phone problem and have too be solved directly w/ SAMSUNG.

Not really sure, I'm kinda a noobie xD. But I did get it off here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1602216
So what is your best choice, does anyone know which is stable for the Galaxy S2 LTE? Because AT&T's Galaxy S2 (Skyrocket) is similar with my Rogers Galaxy S2..
What's your best rom to choose from?, Cause I wanted a Boot animation so I couldn't go on the AT&T ICS stock rom as I don't like the look of it. It did work when I was on gingerbread.

No, you can't. This ROM has been build for SII, and most of the requirements of the ROM cannot be found on the Defy, such as Camera, display, processor, RAM, and more things.
There are some ICS ROMs with FroYo kernel. Try one!
FIX HAS BEEN FOUND: Delete all APNs, add a new one, only input "name" and "APN" fields, and reboot.
Help, I have this annoying problem. Mobile data is not working on any ROM which is based on Android 4.4.4.
It works fine on ROMs using 4.4.2, and it works fine on Stock (which was 4.1.2 or something?).
I have tried several 4.4.4 roms: Official Cyanogenmod. Ehndroix V. NeatROM. SpiritROM. SlimSaber.
I checked and reset APN settings and everything looked normal. Googling the problem there are some others with the same problem, but I have not found any solution.
Currently running Resurrection Remix which is 4.4.2, but it seems like all 4.4.2 ROMs are unstable on my I9100 phone so I would really like a 4.4.4 ROM, which worked perfectly except for this issue.
This is caused by the incompatibility between the modem and the ril(that's included by the rom). Flash a new modem and see if this fixes your problems.
Thanks, that makes sense I guess.... But uuh, it looks very complicated, with tons of different modems available... Do you have any recommendations? I am in Denmark if that makes any difference.
Update: I have now tried almost all of the recommended modems in this thread, plus a few others. No luck... Anyone have any good ideas?

That's weird. I don't know any workarounds. I guess you could stick with the last working version of android then, (probably 4.4.4 android code broke compatibility with your apn).
Okay, I tried with a few more radios... Then I tried installing the app GetRIL which is supposed to automatically find and install the best radio available.... Didn't work, my baseband disappeared and then I installed a SII fixer app, but it all got ****ed up.... And now I flashed a 4.4.2 ROM back and everything works again.
I wonder why, but I'll just stick to that.
Until a Android 5 ROM is ready.
Case closed.

Well you did a common noob mistake regarding to rils. NEVER use getril as it falsely reports mismatching rils and installs the wrong ril anyway. We got a few months to go until an official release

I'd wish you didn't say I did a "noob" mistake as I did everything I could before trying getrils, including properly and manually changing modems.
Anyways now I have tried with two Android 5 ROMS (Cyanogenmod 12 and Resurrection Remix), and it's the exact same story... So for fun I tried to see if there was any 4.4.3 ROMS in existence, which there is. I found one called Techfusion+, where data also works. So it is something in 4.4.4 that messes my phone up.
Update:
I have now upgraded to a Galaxy S3 (I9300), and guess what, it's got the same problem, except this time 4.4.4 ROMS works fine, but still no mobile data on Lollipop.
Maybe it's my sim card??

I had similar problems on my I9100 - also in Denmark - and found that the problem disappears when I remove *all* access point configurations, and then add a single access point, with only "name" and "APN"/"Adgangspunkt" changed from default. Name=tdc and Adgangspunkt=internet. Then suddenly mobile data connects.
I hope this also works for you.
Best regards
Mathias

YES!!! That did it!! Deleted all APNs, added a new one and only input the name and apn fields. Rebooted, and it connected! Thank you! Jeg elsker dig! Hold da kæft, if I ever meet you I'll buy you a beer!
... now, does anyone know of a lollipop ROM where they removed the stupid "swipe to unlock" bull****?
Just wondering if we should update to the newest version of Xposed now that it takes LG devices into account.
Yup. Everything works fine.
Does it still break wifi calling?
I don't know, why don't you test and let us know? I'm running my own ROM on wich WiFi Calling works with Xposed, so I can't test it.

Yes I have, haven't noticed any difference yet... 79 & 80 both ran/running great.
Common sense isn't all that common
Had issues with my camera and lagging.. Reverted back for now.
Zero issues here. Must be the ROM you're running.
No problems here at all, everything works as it should including wifi calling.
On stock rom. Was getting trusted face fc's too.
That's likely why. Xposed breaks some things (like WiFi Calling) on odexed ROMs. Switch to my ROM.
Yeah I know, but I really don't like rom flashing.. I just went back to 78 since I no longer have a copy of 79.. I have all of my mods done on stock and really don't have anytime for remodding atm..
You can flash my ROM over stock with no issues. Make a TWRP backup and if it doesn't work out, you can just restore.
I know but I have my personal unreleased system mods that flashing would overwrite and then I'd have to remod all the deodexed apps I have modded.. Thanks, I may try it in the future if I get time to work on my phone hobbies again..
