Anybody run Plex app on this device? Does work smoothly? On my SGS2 it freezes and crashes alot, and won't play flac, even though the device supports flac.
yea i am using plex. Very simple to use and easy to configure. It was streaming movies which were BRip without any sound distortion and no skipping.
Great to hear. No problems?

Hello Guys..
Suggestions please I tried almost 20 apps from market in last two days but could not find any good app to watch movies of high quality on my x10i
I find moboplayer the best player so far. It plays a lot of formats and it supports subtitles too. It also plays high quality videos with no or minimum lag.
subtitles
RockPlayer 1.0.28
Arcmedia, it's no frills, but has worked with every media i've thrown at it, just don't be retarding your cpu and it works a treat

I'm using 0.34b and it does support them, look at the settings menu, you need to switch subtitles on and they must be in srt format, but it works, no problem!

I downloaded a short clip video from a website on to my phone. It's a .wmv file about 8 megs in size, when I try to play it back in rockplayer it playsback very slow, like it's in slow motion. Yet when I playback a video recorded by the phone playback is normal and smooth.
Anybody know why?

Anybody have an idea?!

What media player are you using to view the file?

wmv files are always a pain in the ass, they always play slower than usual if they are really using the wmv codecs, this is seems more a codec issue than a phone issue.
Have you tried other files with same extension?
hook the file to the computer and check the codec using Media Player classic from K-lite codec pack, on the properties you can see the codec used.
If on your computer the file get heavy/slower to jump from one time to other this is for sure a codec issue.
Do you get any additional lags anywhere?
Maybe the version of rock player that you are using is not the good one for your phone.
Are you using hardware acceleration? (rockplayer config)

Yes I am using whatever the latest of rockplayer is.
No I'm not using hardware acceleration. Where do I get that?!
Gladbto know it's more a codex issue than a phone thing. Still annoying though.
So is an easy fix to use hardware acceleration? !

You can try QQPlayer if it ends up being a codec issue, or system player will even play some wmv.
Is it a 720p video? High resolution or bitrate could be the problem too. Hd video is just impractical to use on x10 unless it's from the video camera.
Stick with sd mp4 trailers if you can find them.

Vital player plays Wmv ok for me, had slow speed with arc media.

I've had issues with the stock? video player since i got the phone. it usually plays for a bit then says "Video cannot be played" this happens to pretty much all sites I visit that contain video. any ideas? or same problem? I tried using chrome and the video player that is used there is really crappy.

No issues at all with stock vid player other than it still cant play .MOV forcing me to use other players for those.
I download tons of HD vids to my phone.
most of this issue with mine is with mp4s. weird.

I'm running Hatka DNA 2.3 but I also had the problem on stock.

Does anyone else have this issue on stock or any other rom?
I have this on certain youtube videos. Sometimes its second behind, others only milliseconds. There was a big thread on this topic in the General section. It should come up in a search. I don't think it was ever solved.
Stock but rooted.
just wondering what the community here is using for their phones .. thanks guys
Stock.
I guess I just haven't come across a need for another player. I am sure there are some, but all my videos play fine with stock.
Mxplayer out plays video formats stock doesn't

Mxplayer if you use freaky-deaky codecs that you could basically only play using VLC player on your PC.
Stock for everything else. Stock plays a lot of different containers and codecs, and it has S Pen integration which makes it that much sweeter.
I was using MX Player. I'm now trying BSPlayer. So far it's great. Plays all the videos stock doesn't and MX did. I like BS because of the popup player. I find that very useful.
thanks guys
thank you gents ...:highfive:
BS Player is pretty nice.

I like the mxplayer just for the fact you can make it full screen with cropping instead of the stretch that the stock player does

BSplayer, popup video, Lan streaming
can't believe people aren't mentioning the fact htat BS player can play dts natively and MX player can't.
Bro!!! Best video player is MOBO player free from Play store! It's amazing trust me and worth a try

Stock for me, same for all five android phones I've owned.
Act 1 for me.
I like Dice-player best of all because it could handle some odd subtitles that nohting else could (at the time). Recently bsplayer now handles those subtitles and it has a nice interface but I've gotten quite use to dice and have no complaints. I used to like mx and mobo player but once I started using dice I dropped them - when I was recently re-testing the subtittle issue (and noticed bsdplayer update) I found mx (or was it mobo?) quite awkward (these things tend to be moving targets since all 4 of them are constantly updating). Anyways for now (as I have for the past year) will stick with dice as the primary and then use bsplayer as the fallback. I suppose if one day those two can't handle the video I'll recheck mx and mobo. Btw they are all quite small so there is little reason to not have all of them installed. Um - there was some issue with dice and google a while ago and the eventual outcome was the paid version was removed and the free version no longer has ads.
Anyways I think the gut of these players are all quite similar (ffmpeg) and it is just a question of interface and which one is updated most often (though it does appear that each does have some local mods; at least dice have). I have no clue why dice was the only one to support the specific subtitles I used for 9+ months but that with the clean user interface was a deciding factor for me.

For be I was studying for a registry exam and the 14 in depth videos I needed were unsupported on stock. They did play great on mx though. So basically they support a wider range of formats.
